I'll give you an opinion when he makes one.
He reviewed the live action movie, not the tract.

what's it like to be a stereotype of a stick in the mud?
I thought was funny. He highlighted the absurdity of the movie and the tract. But lets be honest that wasn't hard to do at all. Took me down memory lane though. I used to play DnD with an ultra religious kid and his family made him stop playing because they thought we were casting spells and shit.
If you wanted him to be fun, you shouldn't have made such a boring thread.
It was pretty good, but the movie was clearly a straight-laced parody so there wasn't much point in making fun of it.
Anything that quotes the most infamous part of Mazes and Monsters is obviously taking the piss.
Mazes and Monsters was both hilarious and saddening at the same time.
Didn't it have Jack Chick's approval though? I think the source material was just absurd enough that a faithful adaptation ends up feeling like a parody. Or Jack Chick is an idiot.
>Jack Chick is an idiot.
It's this one. He just genuinely doesn't understand that they were being ironic.
I think it might only be saddening if you can relate to it.
Even then, something something all comedy comes from misery.
You mean sarcastic?
Did it, or did he just let them buy the rights thinking it wouldn't be silly?
Wouldn't this thread be better suited to /tg/?
Let's not get into an argument of what is and isn't irony. Those arguments are stupidly semantic and annoying.
Mazes and Monsters is bizarre in that it undercuts it's own message. Every character was already under severe emotional and psychological pressure before the story even started, the game itself didn't do anything.
Jack Chick is a million years old, I doubt he cared one way or the other.
It was shit. You can tell Jon's just phoning it in now.
>Show ridiculous part of a parody movie
>overreact to it
>repeat until over
And even then only one of them breaks!
>Used at least two MegaTen tracks
I appreciated that, but Sup Forums isn't really an appropriate board for this.
Getting things back to Sup Forums material:
Chris Ray Gun was good on the recent Bible Reloaded video of an actual Chick Tract. Don't really give a shit about his channel though.
Nah, the weirdo kid with the hats was nutty. He was planning to kill himself in the tunnels out of boredom, and fucks with his game group for shits and giggles until one of them finally snaps.
Jon is funny but this seemed like a bit of a miss for me, the movie is a parody so pointing out funny things in the movie is just explaining the jokes.
right here.
He kinda didn't get it
It's just like when The Nostalgia Critic didn't get Last Action Hero.
>kids know it's just a game
>parents think magic is real
It's a fucked up world

I know him as a game reviewer, I thought it would be a review of that flash game some smart-ass made.
he says at the end he knows it was made in irony, but that it's such a faithful adaption of the original chick tract that it's fair game
>Magic
>Not real
Fuck you.
