Trains are magical places, user. They've been a staple for creative individuals for decades, simply because the calm and quiet combined with the pleasant view outside really gets the juices flowing.
Unfortunately, this doesn't really hold true with trains in the states, as they're either "vacation" trains that don't let you enjoy the unexpected calm because you're very aware that the train ride is a vacation, or it's the subway and you're surrounded by people in a very non-creative environment.
