This point will only start to be realized when rational characters star to turn against her. Perhaps Olenna could have been that character. Maybe Tyrion will now turn against her. Or even Jon.

Last episode, she bitched out Tyrion and tried to burn his brother alive while he stood by looking horrified; the preview made it look like Varys and Tyrion were questioning her sanity.
Well, they're clearly setting up a Tyrion/Jaime reunion, so there's always hope Tyrion will turn heel.

No they're not. She didn't destroy "all the grain". She destroyed Lannister supplies and their loot from Highgarden. Now they can't pay the iron bank and will have no money to wage a war. That is almost a bigger blow than losing kings landing.

We're getting multiple viewpoints of the character, that doesn't mean its bad writing. Dany (and her supporters) still view her as a good ruler for now, mostly because they know she started out with good intentions. But we've also seen that her ambitions have led her down a pretty fucked up path. And that's the point. Dany was always intended as a character to show us how good person end up doing horrible things when corrupted by power.
Dany will realize next episode that those were grain wagons and not the gold wagons. Then next episode she'll have grain sent over from Essos to buy the loyalty of starving Westeroes.
