It's simple. Not many people are aware of it we're very similar.
>invented feudalism and chivalry simultaneously
>warriors used to be known for being obsessed with honor
>homogeneous societies that grant a lot of importance to social rules and politeness
>great attachment to nation's artistic patrimony
>world renowned cuisine

Don't let anyone tell you you're more similar to Britain than you are to us, 日本. It's just not true.
Hi.

Hello Friends!
The French have always been pathetic weebs.
better than american larping dogs
The French have always been large consumers of foreign art. They made the Renaissance possible by funding foreign artists like Da Vinci.
Their admiration for Japanese art stems from that same quality.
I can't help but feel the French are the biggest boos out there. They were Latinboos, Italyboos, outright Weeaboos, and even Ameriboos. Did I miss anything?

Pretty much every culture they thought was worth their time.
Ah yes, Japanese "art"
Oh yeah.
I suppose that if you consider folks like Voltaire, you could also add Angloboo as well. Anything else?
more relevant than anglo paintings mimicking french and italian masters.
I hope you realize that your picture is just a meme.
Japanese people have an amazing vision of aesthetics. Take wabi-sabi, for example. It's a world view that is similar to the vanity art movement in principle, but is actually fundamentally different. It's about accepting everything as ephemeral and imperfect, and finding beauty in that.
My ancestors, who were avid consumers of foreign art, were struck by the simple grace of such a world view. And seriously, why wouldn't you? Isn't pic related beautiful?
legit japanophile
...
Of course.
Can't wait to visit Japan for the first time.
ayo where are you visiting?
I don't know yet. Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka are must-sees, but I'll also certainly be hiking in your countryside in Yamanashi and Nagano, visiting towns as I go.
not same user but i've been 2 times in Japan, once in Kyoto for my brother wedding and second time in Tokyo with friends, it was very comfy, Kyoto > Tokyo btw.
when it comes to a comfy countryside check Kumano Ancient Trail. it's close to Kyoto and Nara and pretty much accessible. Tokyo is... ew

Kyoto is objectively the best epitome of Japan before anything else 2bqh
You're seeing what you want to see. If this weren't true, French works inspired by Japanese sources wouldn't be uniformly superior to the originals, but they are. Almost every home in Europe owns a plate imitating Creil-Montereau or Nevers faïence but few would house a Japanese original.
>Kyoto > Tokyo btw.
thats been the consensus for at least a century now
(our war secretary honey-mooned there, and demanded that it not be bombed, to the president himself)
>Kumano Ancient Trail
That looks incredible, user. I'll be sure to visit it.
too bad no onsen culture in here
