STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Plot Details

Rough outline based on officially released information and leaks that actually proved themselves credible.

>Rey begins training with Luke in Ahch-To, but Luke has grown desillusioned due to Kylo's betrayal and believes that the Jedi should end. Luke once believed that Kylo was "the chosen one".

>Kylo, still struggling to find his purpose, is sent to Ahch-To by Snoke, but ends up being captured by Luke. He begins influencing Rey against Luke, and the two develop a bond.

>Meanwhile, the Resistance has been cut off from the fragile New Republic and being severely attacked by the First Order, whose influence is spreading through the galaxy.

>After being driven out of their headquarters, the Resistance relocates to an abandoned Rebel outpost on planet Crait. Leia is injured during the attack, and replaced by Admiral Holdo.

>Finn and mechanic Rose Tinco are then sent to retrieve infamous "slicer" DJ from the casino planet Canto Bright to help the Resistance. Finn is betrayed (either by DJ or Rose) and captured, prompting Rey to leave to rescue him, with a captive Kylo in tow.

>Snoke is awaiting for Rey in Canto Bright and captures her, making dark revelations that basically amount to her being the chosen one. Meanwhile, the First Order launches an attack on Crait, and Poe supersedes Holdo's command to defend the base.

>Luke rescues Finn and Rey and they join the battle, followed by Kylo and Snoke. Finn faces off against Captain Phasma once again, Kylo's faith in Snoke is strained, and Luke and Rey rejoin the Resistance as they prepare for the final battle against Snoke in EPISODE IX.

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooring

Christ someone just kill this franchise

FPBP

who /UN-HYPE/ here?

>Rough outline based on officially released information and leaks that actually proved themselves credible.

For example?

dude the empire strikes back lmao

I hope the "Luke is evil and Snoke is his puppet, not the mastermind" leaks are true

The only way this can turn out decent is if Rey becomes evil in the end and Kylo defeats her.

They won't be. The next two movies are going to be boring, black and white, IP-milking trash.

why are they called The Resistance when they're the establishment?

its a liberal thing.

Luke uses the force to rape Rey where he reveals he is her father, and he impregnates her with the dark seed of the Sith lord, which causes her belly to swell, and there are pregnant jokes for the rest of the series. At the end her baby dies and she goes to Hawaii

As if they'd risk rocking the boat. I mean seriously are your neurons firing? This is Disney handling a giant IP. You seriously fucking think they'll do anything radical? Why?

The last movie was so paint by numbers it's sad. You can see the committee that designed it as you watch.

I hate to say it but at least the prequels were uniquely shit. And not a single death star. In retrospect that was amazing.

Gonna need sauce on these leaks

They're more like a pro-establishment fringe group.

How about this
>The planet that Rey and Finn are on explodes leaving both dead.
>The enraged POE flies around doing aesthetic vengeful X-wing strike missions for 2 hours.
>He dog fights Kylo and wins.
> He drone strikes Snoke, who was really Tarkin, ending the first order.
>Twist is that the resistance was the enemy the whole time
>Old Luke and Poe team up to fight all the resistance fighters
>Third film is canceled.

So the rebels are driven out of their base, the jedi-in-training goes off to train with a jedi master, the sith guy tells the big hologram they could be a powerful ally if turned to the dark side, they good guys end up fleeing to some backwater outpost only to be betrayed and captured by a supposed friend, and the sith guy tells the jedi-in-training some dark revelation.

... how is this not just a rehash of Empire again?

>>Meanwhile, the Resistance has been cut off from the fragile New Republic and being severely attacked by the First Order, whose influence is spreading through the galaxy.

this doesnt make sense. Resistance should be the Republican Army

if i remember correctly they said that episode 8 would have a "i am your father" level of plot twist

Real spoilers:

>That’s where the Star Wars saga left us at the end of The Force Awakens, with Daisy Ridley’s Rey standing atop a craggy, windswept island, holding out Luke Skywalker’s long-lost family lightsaber to the man she knew only as a legend. But in The Last Jedi, she actually has much further to go to find the warrior who inspired all those old stories.
>This isn’t the Luke she’s heard about. It’s not the one we know either.
>This is a broken man. One who would have preferred to stay lost. And he feels the same way about that lightsaber.

>Luke definitely does not give Rey the warm welcome he received when he went in search of Alec Guinness’ Ben Kenobi in 1977’s original Star Wars. She is warned. She is given an explanation.
>This rejection hits Rey’s abandonment issues. Hard.

>But Ridley says Rey is also placing huge expectations on Luke. She arrives on the island of Ahch-To, site of a primitive Jedi temple, not to become a hero herself, but to shove Skywalker back into the fight.

just fuck my franchise up

>A big part of Rey’s future will be uncovering her own past: Who is connected to her? Where did she come from? And why was she cast away?
>As she tries to pick up her own pieces, she may find they fit together well with the remnants of Luke Skywalker. Working together, they may become whole again.

>Hamill hints that Luke has begun to doubt his own connection to the Force, wondering if he has been misreading it all this time.

>“[Luke] made a huge mistake in thinking that his nephew was the chosen one, so he invested everything he had in Kylo, much like Obi-Wan did with my character,” Hamill says. “And he is betrayed, with tragic consequences. Luke feels responsible for that. That’s the primary obstacle he has to rejoining the world and his place in the Jedi hierarchy, you know? It’s that guilt, that feeling that it’s his fault, that he didn’t detect the darkness in him until it was too late.”

Snoke won't matter. He dies early in the film. I know that no one will believe me, but my friend works at Hasbro and got to read parts of the script.

he's a big guy.

>Luke, a grown ass old fart, kidnaps a guy half his age.
>Will probably not even be a fight scene but gets sneak attacked like Phasma in VII

>No space sloth
How unfortunate.

>but Luke has grown desillusioned due to Kylo's betrayal and believes that the Jedi should end. Luke once believed that Kylo was "the chosen one".

Wow Disney, What's next? Rey gets taken over by Snoke in the Final Film forcing Kylo to fight her fullfulling his Destiny as originally predicted and turning a new leaf balancing Light and Dark and Becoming THE LAST JEDI!?

Goldmember Confirmed for Snoke's True Identity

Cause they're proud women and POC (Democrats) who are RESISTING against evil white males (Trump).

Get it?

>dude star wars lmao

who the fuck cares

sage.

>no sea sloth anakin

fake

i hadnt heard this before

whats the theory behind this, why did luke become evil? does he realise hes evil or whats up with that? do you mean he simply fell to the dark side?

so the whole last jedi thing is plural then and the title essentially amounts to nothing. ok cool. also i love how we're recycling more of the chosen one plot from the prequels, as if that isn't already one of the most cliched plot devices in the history of story telling. i'm not seeing anything about a dumb force tree that gave birth to the literal manifestation of the light and dark side of the force, which disappoints me somewhat because that would be really dumb and funny.

a snoke and a pancake

dropped

...

You see, Mr. Shkywalka

I love GOOOOOOOOOOOLD

How far are they willing to go with copying the original trilogy? Will Rey be Luke's daughter.

>Luke once believed that Kylo was "the chosen one
Maybe if you retards stopped thinking every fucking new Jedi is the chosen one, this shit wouldn't happen

>Will Rey be Luke's daughter.

would be pretty gay if she isn't, considering how many times it's been said that Star Wars is about family, and specifically the Skywalker family.

sure, Kylo could be "redeemed", but then it's just copying the end of ROTJ. and on an out-of-universe level, you can't have some new character kill off a beloved character who was in the originals and then have it be okay because he feels bad about it. Chewie should get to rip Kylo's arms off.

Does anyone even care about starwars anymore?

Even my normie friends have realised TFA was shit.

haha yeah I remember when all the leaks from TFA ended up being completely true too.

I'm still baffled by the decision to cast two people as leads who have literally no charisma and are ugly to boot.

how is this an example of luke being in charge of snoke?

Boyega seems alright, but I'm not sure he was right for the character. he seemed much more modern-Earth than Galaxy Far, Far Away.... although how much of that was him and how much was JJ, I don't know.

Finn certainly wasn't written like a brainwashed soldier whose first normal social interactions were with that Poe guy, Rey and Han. which is too bad because the idea is pretty neat.

>Boyega seems alright
Did we watch the same movie?

Perfect

Understatement.

Too good to be true. ALso, I'd like to see Poe and Maz die in the process too.

>Killed his own father
>Participated in killing hundreds of billions of people
>Rejoins the Resistance

I am calling bullshit on this one

This movie is just plain retarded, JJ ABrams and KAsdan already admitted they didn't plan the trilogy, they messed up the first movie so bad, there's no way anyone can make sense out of it. It's just the stupidest movie ever made, but it has a stronk female lead and a useless black friend, and that is very important!

going off of interviews/talk show appearances, not the movie itself.

>Rejoins the Resistance

nowhere does it say this, open your eyes to white levels, jackie

Based boyega

>this generation of adults watch disney movies

I wish I could go back in time and stop their parents from procreating.

see
He might be ok if he was smarter and didn't buy into cheap racebaiting.

I'd pirate this

This.

go there do shit:the Disney Wars

Despite the FO being absolutely BTFO in the last movie, they managed to gain the upper hand how?
I thought they were a fringe remnant group.
This worked for the Empire, as the Death Star was a huge project they had, but not their seemingly last effort to take control of the galaxy.

I didn't mind The Force Awakens or Rogue One, but for some reason I cannot work up any interest at all for this one.

I think they made a mistake maybe.

Like...Having just one big Star Wars sequel was enough. I have no interest in following these new characters anywhere and the plot is kinda boring/repetitive.

I don't like that the spin off's are prequels, but I like that they aren't part of this ongoing storyline.

I'm not trying to be contradictory, but does anyone else feel the same?

It's like a TV show where I enjoyed the first episode, but not enough to invest time in the rest of the season.

I hope that's fake. It sound really fucking boring.

I literally don't give a fuck about Rey and Finn and Snoke is Literally Who.

This is turning out to be prequel tier, isn't it.

I think they're like Antifa to the New Republics Democrats.

It's pretty shitty writing. It would have been way more interesting if they had ended up more like the Soviet Union and taken over all the cool tech and the First Order were actually like Nazis in South America or terrorists. Maybe having the Rebel Alliance dealing with infighting/purges.

Instead it was like the first three movies didn't even happen and shit just started again.

TFA and Rogue One were both boring because I didn't care for any of the characters, and I don't think they can turn that around in The Last Jedi.

Might make it more interesting than what it appears we're getting.

I'm not even watching this one in a cinema. And I'll probably watch the Han Solo one on the big screen.

>Some dark revelation

>You're actually the chosen one, not your bro

Not really a huge twist. They got a really mediocre writer/director for this. Fucking cheap ass cunts at Disney.

This is unironically like that fucking Hentai Legend Of The Overfiend.

Everytime someone beats The Chosen one, they find out he was a fake Chosen One and there's ANOTHER (this time real, we promise) Chosen One coming along.

If OP's claims are true, she won't be Luke's daughter - She'll be Snokes. And Snoke will be some bad Jedi, or still alive Darth Vader.

If she just turns out be Luke's and the mother is a nobody...damn, that's shit.

Yeah. I liked the film enough, but the good guys were just...bland. Boring and I don't want to see their continuing adventures, because the adventures weren't very interesting.

The only interesting character was Kylo.

Kylo was interesting, but I don't like him. I don't want to see what he does next.

Disney Star Wars is fanfiction

Franchise was over when they bought it

Seriously this is completely inconsistent with the earlier movies if real. Especially the chosen one stuff.

>Luke once believed that Kylo was "the chosen one".
Why? The chosen one was Anakin or himself. That should be obvious by now. To change that is to retcon the meaning of the earlier movies.

>the Resistance has been cut off from the fragile New Republic and being severely attacked by the First Order, whose influence is spreading through the galaxy.
How can the First Order STILL exist? These guys are like Bowser in super mario coming back every installment.

>Snoke is awaiting for Rey in Canto Bright and captures her, making dark revelations that basically amount to her being the chosen one.
Sue fanfiction bs

Yeah, I mean, he's the most interesting, but I don't really care enough to see another movie of it.

OH GOD I'M SO BORED.
Do something fun like have Luke be Kylo's real father or something.
About time Hollywood includes a character born out of incest in one of it's tentpole movies.

They're resisting the moderate Republic in favor of a radical fringe group.

But the real reason is because modern media has demonized the Establishment, and only rebels can be good guys

if this is true then they couldn't make up a more boring storyline if they tried
even Phantom Menace sounds more interesting than this shit

It seems so cheap that an irrelevant fragment of the Empire inexplicably had the resources and manpower to build a super-Death Star 10 times as big.
This is the problem when you try to do a soft reboot in an established universe, you can't just handwave shit away.

If TFA didn't teach you that these films are going to do nothing more than play it safe and coast off the name Star Wars, you're a fool.

>Meanwhile, the Resistance has been cut off from the fragile New Republic and being severely attacked by the First Order, whose influence is spreading through the galaxy.

So, even more larping pretending to be still the underdogs.

I want Evil Luke who can summon lightning.

>all this people shitting on TLJ
>They all will see it at least two times.

>No magical tree involved in any of those spoilers

Lmao

Once when I pirate it and the second time with Plinkett's comments.

Why do people like Star Wars?

I loved that shit as a kid just like everybody else, but wow if it isn't God-awful now. Who even likes this shit?

>credible
Directly contradicting the leaks that were proven credible.

Hmmmmmmm

That shit is fake, though. A lot of people have been hailing this post for allegedly leaking the sloth and the Porgs, even though that shit had leaked earlier, but Sup Forums is too out of touch to search the internet for such info. Nothing but a shitty attempt to string together already leaked info.

kids and people who cant move on

>To change that is to retcon the meaning of the earlier movies.
The earlier movies might as well not exist at this point, seeing as everything that happened back then was pointless and the galaxy has returned to status quo.

How will they write out leia in episode 9? Will they make an offhand comment about her death sticks addiction?

Basically this, rey is so unfit to be a hero that the only way to save this trilogy is to make her a villain.
How is anyone supposed to feel connected to her when she doesn't struggle at anything because she is the best at everything on first try ?

The most depressing part is that Star Wars, while not having the greatest films so far, at least has a world developed that could be used to create some great stories. Now that Disney has control, we will get nothing but mediocrity, every year, for the rest of our lives.

Ep9 Spoilers: Rey on the left

>>Finn and mechanic Rose Tinco are then sent to retrieve infamous "slicer" DJ from the casino planet Canto Bright to help the Resistance. Finn is betrayed (either by DJ or Rose) and captured,
oh gee, I wonder if Rose can redeem herself by blowing up the second starkiller base

Which is why its very likely to happen. Disney plays it safe as fuck

dont you mean you want Luke who can teleport and kill blackholes like in the books?

>Luke once believed that Kylo was the chosen one
The chosen one for fucking what? The empire was gone already.

>that edgy looking kid

But there are black people in LOTR, they're called orcs.

The "Rebellion" was copyrighted by Luke, who was nowhere to be found (see TFA) so they had to find another badass edgy name.

That's literally the Death Star from Episode 6, ugh.
