I did but you must have thought i was shitposting

What? I thought we all agreed it was 2014's movie of the year.

What's his catchphrase again?

it wasnt quite my tempo

Because it isn't
Anyone who plays music (especially drums) can tell you its a laugh riot and just cannot get past the comedic attempt at the people trying to play the instruments.

BOJANGLES

>anyone who plays music

kek.

This. Everything in band is NEVER that exciting or over done. I play drums and it was cool but extremely hyperbolic, especially the practicing montage with all the blood and ice water bucket.

Except maybe the sex orgys on the bus in HS. But that's another story for a mother time.

That's the WAAAAAAAY the news goes

I thought it was pretty cool that the actor plays drums and allegedly actually played all of the ending scene in studio

I don't think they were trying to represent an average highschool band.

Buy Farmer's

Yeah, you definitely never went to a conservatory. I know people that have ruined themselves physically by practicing their instrument so much and so intensely.

This is the only real complaint I had as a pro musician. But unless you get real musicians as actors you'll never be able to pull this off.

It's great, one of the best movies I've seen this year, but I can never get Sup Forums to have a thread about it. Always fizzles out quickly.

Your rhythm is not entirely accurate

DEN PLAY ME SUM MUSAC, BOAH!

They're crap. Crap. Crap. Megacrap.

But we did? This was shitposted to bits in 2014.

It was rushed in some places and dragged in others.

Same here. Legendary film

This is probably the only film where I received universally good feedback from people that watched it after I recommended it to them.

>people on Sup Forums unironically believe Fletcher was right
That's what worries me about this board.

I tried to but you didn't believe me

Parker, your fired.

>your

This, it was Sup Forums's unanimous 2014 kino of the year.

ISN'T THAT THE TEMPO OF THE DAY?

Well you're about to start hating it, because it was also THAT place's 2014 kino of the year.

Oh shit, Parker your unfired, come here and proof read my shitposts.

No. Miles Teller is a shit drummer.

Proof:

DOUBLE TIME SHUFFLE

Why does everyone love this movie?

What about that scene where he gets into the car accident, turns up for the performance covered in blood, no-one mentions it, notices it, or ever recommends he dresses his wounds or wipe the blood off himself before going on stage?

this. it is a very awkward movie if you know anything about music playing.

It was extremely painful

lol, he is worse than Justin Bieber

nola.com/movies/index.ssf/2014/11/is_miles_teller_really_playing.html

He played it in studio.

>What if we made the first half of Full metal jacket, but about music instead?
>And what if we had a really unlikable and extremely punchable main character?
Movie was ok. If anything Sup Forums overrate it a bit.

Movies taught me that people in JewYork have no compassion so its seems normal to me.

The article you just posted literally just said that he didn't play it in studio. Are you fucking retarded?

>The most fundamental thing is how you hold the drumstick
Oh Lord.

Fletcher obviously noticed it. He just hated Andrew and wanted to make him fail publicly. So he let him play.

That article literally just said that he did play it, albeit broken into chunks and edited to make it look like one long take.

But none of the other people noticed

>PLAY DOUBLE TIME SHUFFLE NOT QUITE MY TEMPO

is like

>MOVE THE HUBBLE YEAH LET'S MOVE IT COME ON EVERYBODY

He did play it ON CAMERA but not in the studio

>Then it was editor Tom Cross' job to make it look as if Teller "was playing his little heart out."

Holy fuck you are so fucking stupid. If you watch the movie you can tell he isn't as good a drummer as what you hear in the audio. Further, the video above shows he is an atrocious drummer. Finally, the article even admits he just played it bit by bit during filming to make it look like he was playing. All of this evidence, and you still fucking think he played the drums on the audio track?

Sorry I assumed studio meant where they fucking film it, on the camera? I even said it was edited, so what the fuck is your problem?

Can you even play a small portion of that? The audacity of you right now to even say he's a shit drummer is kind of hilarious. It's a movie, slow the fuck down.

>Can you even play a small portion of that?
anyone could learn that in two weeks

They were too scared to say anything. Did you miss that Fletcher is intimidating as fuck?

No I'm not as good as the Whiplash soundtrack. But I'm a better drummer than Miles Teller.

My problem is your idiocy.

P.S. if the drums were recorded live during filming there would be mics everywhere. Because It is microphones that pick up the sound of the drums. There were no visible mics during Whiplash performances.

Alright, post your sick drumming ability in 2 weeks, give me your information and I expect a youtube video, I don't mind if you edit it together in chunks over the course of 2 days either.

Post some of your drumming, genuinely curious. You have to be pretty good to be this big of an asshole, yeah? Also, you got blown the fuck out. Just admit you were wrong about him drumming it, and this can all go away.

I guess we should see mics visible everywhere in every movie then, right? Because microphones pick up all sound, so you need to see one for it to exist.

you are quite stupid, i hope you don't vote.

t. wrong user

THATS NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND'S DICK

Thoughts on this deleted scene Sup Forums?

I don't have to prove my drumming skills to you, I don't really care. The point I'm trying to make is that Miles Teller didn't play the drums you hear.

Did you actually watch the video here: ? I'm not just being a cunt about Miles Teller. I don't care that he's a shit drummer. He's a good actor. But his drumming skills are literally Bieber tier.

Are you now also claiming that every drum scene in Whiplash was recorded live. Because that's definitely incorrect. You can see a lot of scenes where hand placement mismatches with the audio. Also, by the sound of the recorded drums you can hear that the drums are recorded close-mic'ed. The drums would sound very different if the mics were placed at a distance (off camera).

you came too early

Pictures, Parker. PICTURES OF THAT WALL-CRAWLING MENACE SPIDER-MAN!

To clarify, I'm not a "sick" drummer. I'm just better than Miles who is barely amateur

Just leave it be. That guy probably thinks Star Wars was shot in space as you can clearly see spaceships and stars and shit.

Hahahaha thankyou

But the whole thing is literally that he drummed it, it didn't have to be exactly the sound and you can see the few sketchy looking bits where it was edited. But he is capable of at least drumming the song.

Even a retarded clock can be right twice a day.

this just makes me want to watch the movie again

>it didn't have to be exactly the sound
What did he mean by this? Are you saying that if it sounded of poorer quality due to more distant mic placement you can still magically hear audio as if the mics were placed closely?

>But he is capable of at least drumming the song.
You have no evidence of this and in fact I have already presented much evidence to the contrary

Bad news kid. High School Musical was mimed. They recording the songs in a recording studio and then mimed the songs in a film studio.

Fuck you

These posts are all me.

>but you can clearly see that he drums the drum in the drumming song

...

You sir have successfully trolled me. You deserve congratulations for this.

Literally plebbit the film. I bet you like Rick and Morty.

>PICKLE RICK

Two schools of thought on the movie

>Fletcher wanted a replacement trophy performer because one of them killed themselves
>Fletcher actually felt bad and really believed in Andrew

Andrew looked up to Fletcher because he was like a father to him, his real dad was a cuck divorcee.

>But he is capable of at least drumming the song.
He is capable of playing little bits that almost match the real playing. which is a good job for an actor. It has nothing to do with actual drumming skills though. Do you think Tom Cruise can sword the sword like a real samurai too?

nah, i am not that guy. i just think this is very amusing.

His real dad was really nice to him other than that one time where he was arguing with those stupid jocks and his dad decided to take their side for some reason.

I hate that dude

>he thinks he can bruise the Cruise
Anyway, that was the original point. Yes, he is capable of matching the song. The original post was allegedly, anyhow.

Anyone else buy Farmers Insurance thanks to this movie?

No the original point Miles played it in the studio. He didn't. He mimed it (and it would have sound terrible live) bit by bit.

allegedly

imagine filming this, the crew must have gone mad. the original song blasting over the set plus the actor's drumming.

What did he mean by this?

Hahahaha. Like when your 13 year old neighbour buys a drum-kit and he thinks he's Danny Carey. The crew must have had earplugs.

Its a fucking metaphor
>character were told died of a car crash actually got stressed and killed him self
>main character gets in a car crash and lives. People don't react except the dad who shows extreme concern
Cmon man join the dots

>Why didn't you tell me how good this was Sup Forums?
Not quite your tempo, if you catch /our/ drift.

btw, the actor really was injured in that car crash, the blood does not look fake. show me your own blood to prove me wrong.

Yes it's a metaphor but it's also supposed to be a movie involving humans who behave in humans ways which the film failed to do in this scene

This tbqh famalam

ecks dee.

I've got a metaphor for you.

>btw, the actor really was injured in that car crash
No he wasn't, he had been in a car crash earlier in his life, the scars on his face are from it.

Wooosh

I literally explained this to you already. Fletcher wanted Andrew to fail, and everyone was scared of Fletcher. They didn't want to be kicked out of the band for going against him.

he's trying to make a joke about the miming the drums thing, except it's a shit joke because of the false equivalency involved in showing blood to bragging about being good at drums

is that a breeze passing between your ears, fathead?

I still didn't buy that NO ONE reacted IN ANY SLIGHT WAY. Not a single mention. No one flinched. And I'm not convinced that the music teacher would sully his reputation by allowing a drummer with gaping bleeding wounds perform live on stage with him

Daily reminder that Fletcher stole the original drummers notes

I never bragged about being a good drummer. Saying you are better than Miles Teller is not bragging. I am also a better singer than Florence Foster Jenkins. Still not bragging.

it was a damn fine joke.
