Is there any explanation why it's taking them forever to march to the wall. It took Jon, davos and gendry no time at all to reach eastwatch.
Is there any explanation why it's taking them forever to march to the wall. It took Jon...
There is no point crossing the wall when there is no snow on the opposite side. They can't stand temperatures above 0°C. Think of them as zerg waiting for the creep spread.
Bad writing
They literally make winter and cold. The previous temperature doesn't matter to them
Just biding their time, they are in no rush
Why would they even bother going past the wall if they can only exist past it for a finite time?
Like wtf?
Just stay on your side of the wall
Why can't you just stay in your fucking containment thread?
>They literally make winter and cold.
huh?
inb4 "John said it"... john knows shit, is also established in the show.
it becomes super fucking cold every time they show up in books
It's a well known fact outside of the show. I don't think Jon even says something like that
Waiting for Littlefinger to split the north.
ehy cant you?
nigga there is a scene at craster's keep in season 3 or 4 where the walker takes the baby and all the puddles freeze as he approaches.
they move at the speed of plot, just like everybody else
The intelligence of the average GoT poster on full display here
This and only this.
...
bc they're walking at a zombie pace? Only the Night King and the other lieutenants are on horseback.
The dead can't teleport
But there is snow on the other side.
>But there is snow on the other side.
that's why they are finally crossing it, they had to move left and right to fool the enemy.
Having to wait for those 1 legged wights, fucking cripples
>Is there any explanation why it's taking them forever to march to the wall.
Why do you think they're marching to the wall?
They've been "marching on the wall" for at least 5 years judging by the in-show timeline. What the hell is taking them so long?
They are supernaturally linked to winter. For some magical reason, they can't attack the Wall until winter is here.
Gotto wait for the major plot on the south of the wall to finish.
I am kinda disappointed that none of the dead are riding atop spiders the size of wolves like they one old lady was talking about to bran for a "Scary Story"
They can't go through the Wall you moron, why get it there quickly ? They are waiting for something be fore marching to south. We don't know what yet (probably a dead dragon to burn down the wall)
They are waiting for everyone to get their shit together before attacking. They have honor
He's a pussy as bitch that will most likely get defeated in one episode 10 minutes tops at this rate
Do they have lolipop dicks?
>why it's taking them forever to march to the wall. I
You have to be alive to use Euron's/CIA's teleporting technology
looking for Joramun's horn maybe :D
There's been constant snow at Winterfell for years.
reminder that the wall is warded just like the three eyed raven's cave and bringing an Other (not just a wight like in S01) will cause the magic to fail allowing the Others to cross south
that or they are finding crack in long wall
they are snow flakes. they cant attack walls until the winter has already done it for them.
>They are waiting for something be fore marching to south.
Yeah, like the script. If they're waiting for a dragon to help them then there's really no threat at all.
It's this. It seems that NK has visions too and can break Brans magic (like those ravens in last episode).
So NK has been waiting for dragon so he can take down the wall.
How far can he see to future? Don't know. Season 8 will most likely explain what is with NK and his shit.
Any explanation to why the changed the NIght King design in OP to this crap?
Gotta wake them ice spiders.
it already failed, otherwise the Others wouldn't march there. Bran is marked by the Night King. That is why Bran sent Meera away, he knows they will get to Winterfell.
Night King had to wait for Bran to get ready
There were actor change. So mask is on different face.
Also in Hardhome it was cgi enchanded. Ice was crystal like. Don't know why they dropped it. Maybe too expensive to do?
This whole thing seems fictional to me.
Where does the armor of the WW come from btw ? They got blacksmiths ?
How old is Gillys baby? It was born in season 2, when Sam went beyond the wall, looks no older than 4 to me. Are there any other ways to measure got timeline?
He ate a bee.
Except in the season finale they kill and ressurect one of Dany's dragons as the night king's mount
But what about the ice dragons frozen in the Wall?
He's OP enough as it is, the last thing he needs is a no-CD TP spell.
He's going to be even more OP with Sindragosa at his side
Taking their time converting every possible living thing north of the wall.
This looks better tho.
I suppose they COULD be biding time for deeper in the winter season, when men's supplies and stamina are lower; makes for an easier fight. Until then, they just do sweeps north of the Wall to accrue soldiers.
But it's probably just due to plot molasses. They were right on Bran at the Raven's cave, yet a girl & a cripple made it to the Wall seven episodes before the dead will. All while everyone else traverses thousands of miles over five minutes of showtime.
>Is there any explanation why it's taking them forever to march to the wall.
no
Reminder that they just want to kill Bran, the three eyed raven is keeping the army of the dead from dying, so he can access their memories and stuff. Once Bran is dead they will all die.
Waiting for the sea to freeze so they can walk around the wall?
Is this idea sourced somewhere other than the transmissions from your fillings?
The wall is already fucked because Bran went back to winterfell despite being marked. The protection magic is already broken.
>s there any explanation why it's taking them forever to march to the wall.
Spoilers are taking way too long to post
>They make things especially cold
>This means they bring winter wherever they go, whenever they go there
So by your logic then, why were they waiting for a great Winter at all?
Why would they rush to the wall if they have no way of getting through?
Best theory for that is them waiting for the sea near eastwatch to freeze so they can cross
A Punished Stannis is holding them back with a small force of the Golden Company at the Fist of the First Men.
What happened to all the season 1 predator-looking white walkers?
>they wait to bring down the wall
Have an undead giant pull up thr iron gates // freeze the ocean and walk around the wall
It's not gonna happen, but it would hilarious if they somehow united all the houses, manned all 19 castles along the wall, and then Castle Black, in command of all other castles receives a message about how Deepwood Motte and Bear Island have fallen, the dead having crossed from the Frozen Shore, far to the west of the wall, completely bypassing all of their armies.
why doesn't everyone just move to Essos?
the wall a magical barrier, not just a physical barrier
It honestly would be
I saw that theory and for me it makes the most sense instead of the omniscient night king knowing a dragon is gonna come so he can kill it and take the wall down
Why would he need to do that when Bran already broke the protection spells for him
Y u so mad?
1) Because it looks cool.
2) Because it was never mentioned in the show that the wall is magic, just that it's so huge that it looks more like a mountain than a wall.
3) Because it looks cool.
4) Because you can then sell ice-dragon figurines.
5) Because it looks cool.
6) DABID
I love Got, but there is no other explation for this so far, and I don't think there will be. People travel all arround the world in a few cut scenes but for some reason the White Walkers take whole episodes to walk arround the wall
aegon is the night king
im guessing that army of slow as skeletons they are marching with is, well, slow.
They are thousands of years old so waiting a few years while they properly get into position isn't really a problem. Winter is just kicking in so they probably want the humans to start struggling and be snowed in before they launch their attack.
actor is now a female ;^)
so many other characters have gone to the wall, past the wall, back to the wall, and back and forth, but since season 2, they've been walking somewhere..? there are so many shots of them walking towards the wall, just to remind us that there are white walkers, dumb writing, D&D suck, lame ass fanfiction tier
