Yugoslavia

>Yugoslavia a once politically stable state in the Balkans when ruled by Tito that had a decent economy, automobile industry, a military and currency with some actual power, social relevancy, good national sports teams, etc.
>Tito who ruled Yugoslavia with an iron fist dies and ethnic tensions increase tenfold
>Fragmentation of Yugoslavia occurs because 'muh nationalism'
>All ex-Yugoslavic countries are essentially irrelevant shitholes

Go ahead and say what you want about Yugoslavia but it was better than the modern collective barren wasteland that is the Balkans.

Of course it was better. Thats why you had to destroy it with help of domestic traitors and stupid nationalists who thought such small shitty countries can be sovereign.

Yeah man, if you ignore all the purges and ever growing debt. People who idealize Yugoslavia are largely ignoring of the really state of matters. It makes sense that resources pooled together can create more but was the cost worth it?

laughing at Sl*vs

I believe an unpleasant truth is still better than a comforting lie
Reunited Yugoslavia maybe could be okayish at best but only for a limited period of time
Permanently,it would be unsustainable (as history already showed TWICE)so in the long run its better this way,as it is now

No its totally better to be a little corrupted shithole with even bigger debt that sucks american dick all the time and is ruled by a bunch retards.

Isn't the debt of the six republics much worse now? Besides, the Yugoslav debt crisis happened when they applied IMF / world bank recipes.

>ruled by a bunch retards
>implying yugoslavia wasn't
i smell Serb

literally everything is unsustainable on a permanent basis

I smell underage faggot.
those people were far better than those we have now.

Not even close, Slovenia and Croatia are way better countries than Yugoslavia ever was

croatias economy has been dead for like a fucking decade

Current disparate nations that once constituted Yugoslavia are permanently unsustainable.

at least they get lots of tourism

*after Tito's and Kardelj's death
just a tiny correction
come on now
yugoslavia again for slovenia would just be unnecessary pain with no gain as this user already pointed outit would be just a matter of time before it breaks down into series of vicious conflicts
and do you think putting them all together would make things any better?

Slovenia is irrelevant as fuck and Croatia is a beautiful country but fucked up economically.

Not only that but what about Serbia? Bosnia? Macedonia? Montenegro? You think these countries are better off independent? You have to be seriously delusional if so.

>Slovenia is irrelevant as fuck

yeah, but so is Estonia, which is slightly worse off than us. Should it therefore become a part of Finland?

this

Slovenia and Croatia are doing better than when they were in Yugoslavia.

>muh relevance
So what? Quality of life is what matters, your life isn't gonna get any better just because your country is more famous

If Yugoslavia was so could then why did America tear it apart?

>lets get into debt so the red bourgeois commie shits can life luxurious lives, who cares about the consequences

t. Stefan Urošević

Because of gibs

Now post the debts of each individual country and their total.

>slavs r subhumen lol

No I will not post the debts for each individual country.
in2013dollars.com/1979-dollars-in-2018?amount=100
Literally taking more credits just to pay the interest rates of old credits.

>No I will not post the debts for each individual country.
Now why would that be?
>Literally taking more credits just to pay the interest rates of old credits.
Literally the same shit today.

Because it is irrelevant you braindead commie cuck.
No. It is far from the shit we have today. Serbia inherited around 11 billion of that debt. And Serbia is around 25 billion in debt today. But Serbia can still pay the monthly installments and interest on the debt. Communist Yugoslavia couldn't pay the monthly installments and the interest even back when Titio was still alive.

And 18 billion back then was a whole lot more wealth and money, it can't be comparable even when inflation is taken into account.

ubij se tačkasta degenčino

no, it's more because the rest of yugoslavia was economically worse, so if you split us into separate parts naturally the ones that were doing the best are doing the best afterwards as well

Paзбoли ce oд paкa кoмyњapo.

Sounds to me like the whole balkans needs a good dose of Communism 2. Yugoslavia and Bulgaria were clearly better under communism.

I apologize for my retarded tankie countryman

Retarded? Go fuck yourself, it's true.

Yugoslavia was a power of Europe.
Now it's a bunch of irrelevant small countries.

Bulgaria was one of the best eastern bloc countries, now the poorest in the EU and half their population left since the fall of Communism.

Russia is an oligarchy where people overdose on krokodil in the streets.

Communism was better, just admit it.

USA need communism too:3

Relevance is the only thing Ameripussies have going for them though.

no it was a shitty artificial and unstable state that only lasted due to billions of US gibsmedats and credits since it was anti-soviet
as soon as the gibs stopped flowing in the economy collapsed. an unnatural nation that was artificially propped up

My father was friends with Yugoslavian immigrants before Tito died. They still refer to themselves as Yugoslavians, even though their country does not exist anymore.

that means they're probably Bosnians or grew up in a multireligious household

They weren't Muslims because my father would have definitely remarked about that, since he is an observant Catholic.

Is it true Yugoslavia was less "repressive" than the other communist countries, like you could get western rock music and tv and stuff right? I heard that from somewhere

Yes.

they werent even socialists

yes, that's true

there was no iron curtain between Yugoslavia and the West

that's also why we had a very strong punk and new wave scene, though they only started releasing records after Tito's death for some reason

there were also Beatles and Hendrix ripoffs and western-style folkies in the 60s and 70s who made records on Yugoton (the national music label)

yes, there wasn't an iron curtain here, people could freely pass borders even for things like weekly shopping trips, which was pretty popular along the austrian border, and along the adriatic to italy

for geopolitical reasons Jugoslavja was less repressive than most eastern Europe.
There were a rock-pop scene in every former commie state though.

I'd say slovenia is far better off now than under yugoslav rule

because they are literal jews

seems like you guys need to git gud like slovenia 2bh

i think that is true
i still have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that back then even in bosnia people were able to afford golf mk2
i mean wasn't that bit too decadent for a socialist society?

circumcision doesn't happen here except for you southerners that come to work here

meme map

1, 2, 3...novo jutro /slo/ja se dani

That's a retarded namefahg who always shits up /ex-yu/ threads. Jebeni točkasti.

>bit too decadent for a socialist society
>workers freely enjoying their leisure time and labor
>decadent
you bought into the capitalist propaganda

Dont worry, there are many stages of 'countryhood' on this part of europe and the borders never rest.
Dont fool yourself if you believe it will all remain as it is now

yeah, but odds are if a border shift happens yet again in the next few years, it will be in serbia or bosnia

>not here

was thinking of mentioning you but i dont really know enough sorry

worry not we're right up there

It wasn't sustainable in the end and couldn't outlast Tito.
