This. It has been revived and adapted from being only written language to speaking. A few sounds were discarded, easier handwriting system was invented and a lot of modern words were added although some of them are just conversion and adaptation of the old ones to the modern world.

Also shit ton of modern Hebrew words are just English words written in Hebrew, sometimes with twisted or incorrect meanings at all. Words like אינטרנט, סלולר, טלפון, are okay, but for the life of me I can't get it why is there such strict differentiation between basic home phone which is טלפון (telefon) and smartphone — פלאפון (pelefon). To the point where the person could understand you incorrectly because you used the wrong one. Also the latter is a fucking stupid word.
