Why do most spaniards have irish DNA despite not having any irish ancestor at all? And why do some Irish look spanish? What's the thing between the Irish and the Iberians?

le 75% face

I have 100% spanish ancestry, I'm Cantabrese as all of my family, yet I look? the fuck I look? like some sort of slavic ottoman

Yeah you look like a turk.

como era eso de asturias y la tierra conquistada morito?

it's c*Ltic heritage

tfw no spanish bf

I'm Irish/italian and I kind of look like that guy. Slightly wh*Ter unfortunately

aren't galacians celtic?

You look some oily arap. The only thing missing is a big thob and you'd look like a sheik.

There was a large irish inmigration in the 16th century so maybe some people in smalls villages still have irish DNA.

that guy is darker than avergae spaniard

>morito?
he doesn't look like a fucking moroccan

>big Semitic eyes

Bro you're an arab

the way those programs work makes it so, they are statistically based i.e they assign "pieces" of DNA to a certain cluster based on probability, so if there is some general genetic affinity(which we know would most likely be Iberia -> Ireland), it may very well happen that the former, Iberians, get some "Irish DNA" despite not having any ancestor coming from Ireland

same could be true for NW africa btw

>Iberia -> Ireland
Northern Iberia, Basques man

well sure, that'd be a better proxy, but Basque like ancestry in Iberia is all over the place

Celtic DNA.

You ever notice how some Britons and Irish are really swarthy, like Mr. Bean or Colin Farrell, despite being 100% British? That's because they're Celts, the original inhabitants of the islands, and all the blonde, pale people are Germanic invaders from post-Roman period.

The Norman invaders were swarthy too btw.

lots of untruths here

He's not completely wrong though.

the irish are an ancient tribe that came from africa, it only makes sense that spanish would have their genetics

no you're right but things are a lot more complicated than that

>that guy is darker than avergae spaniard
Doesn't he have more N.African DANA than the average Spaniard.

>blonde, pale people are Germanic invaders from post-Roman period.
The Legion guardian Hadrian's Wall was from Batavia and they had local grills. Also, Celts can be blond even before Germanics. The swarthiness IIRC is from pre-Celtic stone age settlers.

point remains though that is no coincidence the inhabitants of Britain most closely resembling Roman age Briton samples aka Welsh and Cornish are also the darkest of the bunch
Celts did certainly have light features among them but clearly less than Germanics
the pre-Celt stone age settlers themselves were largely replaced in the bronze age by continental Bell Beakers anyway

because both the irish and the spaniards were sent here to punish us for our sins

I‘m also Spanish, have 6,5% Celtic and 6,4% northern African ancestry and look way whiter than this guy.
12,8% Greek and 10% Sardinien was kind of a shocking because all my family has been spanish as much as I can trace back but I have relatives from the Mediterranean Spanish coast and I’ve noticed people there have a mixed Mediterranean ancestry (also makes sense from a historical point of view since Greeks, Carthageans and Romans had settlements along the coast).
Regarding OP‘s question: most spaniards have some “Irish” ancestry but that doesn’t imply that you had ancestors from Ireland. It means that you had celtiberian ancestors.
