>John Wick
I really, really need some stylish action films. How's Atomic Blonde?
If you actually like flicks akin to John Wick, I guess Atomic Blonde is right up your alley.
>all that grimdark
Kate is gorgeous at least!

>Having your nose up makes you smart
I'd reckon that people who proactively watch films as a hobby would already have watched most of the classics, meaning that they would now be picking newly released films. Which explains the answers.

The Colony (Jeff Renfroe, 2017) - 1/5
>meaning that they would now be picking newly released films. Which explains the answers.
Doesn't explain all the shitty answers. Where are all the interesting recent releases like Nocturama or Good Times?
>drunken master
Kino.

>Flash Gordon (1980)

>Where are all the interesting recent releases like Nocturama or Good Times?
These are last watched films, and many people watch films with their friends, which basically guarantees that most of the answers here will be current, popular films. Which are mostly blockbusters.
her in latex is the only reason Underworld films are still being made, but I've gotta say the latest one wasn't actually that bad and was somewhat decent, outside of the crappy camerawork during fights and some arguably retarded character decisions.

Cloud Atlas: 9/10
Dunkirk: 7/10
Alien Covenant: 5/10
>rating the wicker man over get out and baby driver
XD LOOK MOM IM BEING LE CONTRARIAN ON TEH INTERNET AGAIN XDD
you know Cage's The Wicker Man isn't the only one? Also, it's his opinion and he's entitled to it, doesn't make him right or wrong, stop being this ass blasted over it.
Ask me how I know you have a 2 digit iq.
Matilda - 8/10
Jumanji - 8/10
Hacksaw Ridge - 9/10
>Hacksaw Ridge

With those laughably bad battle scenes?
Rambo 7/10
Take Me Home Tonight 6/10
Sophie&Sheba 5/10
Valerian **

Dunkirk ***
I read they actually toned it down for the movie because a lot of the stuff wasn't believable, even though it apparently happened.
>A scanner darkly
7/10
>Dunkirk
7/10
>Naked lunch
8/10
>the name of the rose
God tier film, 9.2 / 10.
>Lektionen im Finsternis
Suprisingly also god tier (docu), 9/10.
>Guardians of the galaxy, vol. 2
Utter disappointment exposition fest, weak villain, pathetic rehashed jokes and "look how cute I am" groot: 4/10.
the scene where he drags his superior across the battlefield and the one with that guy using a nip as a body shield, while having perfect or near perfect aim was highly unrealistic and it ruined the film for me.
Like in To Hell and Back?
>Dunkirk
8/10
>There Will Be Blood
7/10
>Eyes Wide Shut
6/10
I didn't think they were great either but the rest of the movies carries itself. Hugo weaving gave his best performance ever i'd say.
>Dunkirk
>Train to busan
2/5
>Dunkirk
9/10
>First Blood (aka Rambo: First Blood)
9.5/10
>Kubrick's best
>a 6
>He climbs aboard a burning tank destroyer and single handedly keeps the enemy from advancing on his position. He spends almost an hour on top of the tank destroyer until his ammunition is exhausted. Seconds later after climbing off the tank destroyer, it explodes. For this action, Audie receives the Medal of Honor.
>actor only agrees to play himself in the movie if they tone down his heroism and make his fellow soldiers have more importance to the story
How could one man be so based and such a bro?
>Drive
5/5
>Toy Story
5/5
>Oldboy
5/5
I only watch movies I know I'm going to like
It's not really a Kubrick film. It's 95% like the source material, just in a modern setting. Contrast it with The Shining, Kubrick made that movie his own.
And Shining is fucking shit. Kubrick confirmed for fat hack who couldn't grow beard or make movies.
>not really a Kubrick film
what? how? It's Kubrick at his finest.
you should try to go out of your comfort zone more, because you can't truly appreciate a great film, without watching horrible ones.
The Shining is a major improvement on the source material and a cult classic, horror films wise, fuck you.
>Audie Murphy's war buddy Onclo Airheart was slated to play himself, but he declined due to the fact that the movie was to be shot during planting season.
Golden Age Hollywood BTFO!
>Sure, I could become an actor and make lots of money while getting mad pussy by showing own much of a heroic badass I was in WW2, but my crops aren't going to plant themselves, you know?
How can one man be this fucking alpha?
>Men Behind the Sun
6/10
>In a Glass Cage
7/10
>Roar (1981)
7/10
Roar is absolutely fucking insane and some of the most fun I've had watching a movie this year, but really it's just big cats wreaking havoc for 90 minutes.
now watch Drunken Master 2
I read a book outloud once. It was a great book. I guess that makes me the finest author there ever was?
>you can't truly appreciate a great film, without watching horrible ones.
This
You mean The Legend of Drunken Master. DM2 exists, but it's not with JC. It's with the teacher character.
Spiderman Homecoming: 5/10
Event Horizon 7/10
Rifftrax The Room 7/10
5/10 isn't bad. This isn't grades. It's just a scale from 1 from horrible to 10 as best, with 5 as average.
>gotg 2
8/10
>vampire d bloodlust
8.7
>A chef one with a kid

>Wind River
8/10
>Atomic Blonde

>The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
?/10
Fuck you im having fun
Bloodlust's animation was fucking gorgeous
yes - Jui Kuen II/Drunken Master II/Drunken Fist II/The Legend of Drunken Master (1994)
NOT Dance of the Drunk Mantis/Drunken Master Part 2 (1979)
Same here. I watch films, because I enjoy them and I'll whatever peaks my interest. Watching films, because you want to rub in people faces how your taste is superior, is fucking retarded.
Hot Fuzz 4/5
Silence 3/5
Incendies 5/5
Yeah all that atmosphere, tension and record setting for actors captured on film really isn't to kubrik's credit. 6/10 at best.
Did you see the alternate ending? JC's character is basically a blind Dougie from Twin Peaks lol
>Train to Busan: 2/5
Well, I hadn't seen a decent zombie flick since 2004, and not a single good horror movie since the first REC.
Train to Busan had some issues, but I'm curious what your expectations were to rate it that low.
I'd give it a 4/5, easily.
I still can't stop laughing at how the literal madman cucked Cruise
Black dynamite
9.5/10
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
2/10
Tokyo drifter
6.5/10
everything below 5 is just varying degrees of shit though. might as well just use a 0-5 scale
Oh yeah, Every frame i was globsmacked by the beautiful backgroud art
the second half of fallen angels, much like the second half of chungking express, is horribly quirky and lame, to be honest
both first halves are incredible though
It's all in the book. Every little detail is in the book. If it wasn't set in modern times, I would say it's the best adaptation of a book ever put on screen.
I think Kubrick did a perfect job, but it's not a 'Kubrick' authored movie like 2001 or The Shining.
You realize Sup Forums has been built around that principle for years? Enjoy your stay reddit.
yeah it's the only ending I've seen actually, since I watched it on VHS 20 years ago. please tell me they didn't sanitize it on re-release like Brazil, I hate when they do that shit.
the rereleased version of Iron Monkey also has a lot of stuff edited out, damn shame
>implying it's exclusive to Sup Forums
Yup. The cut I saw had a happy ending.
