That's not my point at all.
My point is that Japan is superior in what it does and came up with it first.
It's the same principle that you can apply to China.
Japanese culture is heavily based on ancient China, sure, but it has improved everything it absorbed from China. Unlike what Korea has done.
K-POP has only been famous for a short time and I don't believe it has potential to stay relevant in the long run. Compare it to Japan, which has a rich media industry since the 60's and we can see how problematic this is for Korea. Also, Japan is a better country overall, better infrastructure, better landscapes, and more people want to learn Japanese than Korean.
I don't see how Korea can stand against the 2 other giants of the east, Japan and China.

Honestly they both just copy stuff from better countries ( ex. Anime started off as a rip off of American cartoons and Kpop started off as a rip off of Black/African American music ). Only difference is Japan has been doing it for a long time and is better at it.
