The Ikhwan in Egypt wanted to ban the Book of 1001 Nights for God's sake, one of the most famous pieces of Arab literature, and they wanted to ban it. That's how much modern Islamists hate Arab nationalism.
What Arabs need is a nationalist Islam, one that pays tribute and respect to the great prophets and warriors of the Arab conquests as national historical figures, whilst doing away with outdated laws such as the hijab or ban on alcohol and pork.
The ban on usury and gold-backed currency should however be kept, it is one of the most redpilled aspects of islam.
