Similar thing offered to employees at my workplace. Our health scheme gives us a 25% reduction off our insurance premiums if we keep bmi less than 28.
I hate it when organisations meddle in peoples affairs like this. Whether its the state, or a private firm, neither should be getting involved in peoples private matters. Just seems completely Orwellian to me.

Honestly I feel your point about government staying out of people's personal lives but I think it makes sense for insurance. If you're living a healthy lifestyle that leads itself to you being less likely to get sick, you should be able to pay less for insurance. And companies interested in keeping you healthy should incentivise you doing your part.
It's not like they're holding you at gunpoint and go "EAT THE FUGGIN SALAD", they're just giving you a gentle nudge.
