This show has definitely gone through a bit of a decline, but it's not that much worse than what it was. They just have to get away from over developing characters and movie spoofs. Sci fi/philosophy concepts are what makes the show funny, they really like exploring weird ideas and the comedy comes from there. Best episodes of this season have been the last two because they haven't been a parody of a fucking movie / genre

I don't think the season has been that bad apart from episode 2 and 3. I rewatched both season 1 and 2 and the whole Beth and Jerry failing marriage thing was a lot more irritating than I remembered it.

It used to be a funny, interesting show that dealt with drama subtextually. Now it's neither funny nor interesting and it deals with drama overtly, exposition. I don't think there's been an episode so far where the characters haven't have a completely unentertaining conversation about their feelings, when they used to be able to effectively communicate those feelings to the audience without saying anything about them.
