Hey Sup Forums, I was born in 2000

Hey Sup Forums, I was born in 2000.

Anyone here was a teenager in 90's? Was 90's really fun like in these music videos? It sounds like a very fun decade.

It was a time where internet was not the standard form of social interaction.

It was better or worse?

I was a young teenager just as the internet was starting to come into it's own. I'm glad I go to be part of the last generation to have an internet-free childhood, tbqh.

depends on.
Imagine if you don't have friends.

Early 90s was Grunge and Gangster rap and new jack swing

Mid 90s was Techno and Rnb

The late 90s felt like pop music was being shoved down your throat and you have no choice. We only have MTV to tell us whats relevant

If video kills the radio star then the Internet kills the Video star

Thanks to the Internet we can pick and choose who is Relevant to us
No more Britney Spears phenomena

wew hey fellow 2000 kid, feels weird to see people born after me being 16 / 15 already desu

Your birth year?

1985. I was 10 when Windows 95 came out and it was still a few more years before everyone was doing literally everything online.

mustve sucked

84

Smartphones were a mistake

tfw crush born in 2002

>there are people above the age of 20 on this board

wtf are you doing with your life LMAO

>Thanks to the Internet we can pick and choose who is Relevant to us
>No more Britney Spears phenomena
then why """"we"""" chose Despacito? :¬(

one hit wonder
overhyped shit

good shit
not like this pussy ass soyboy rap shit all Sup Forums niggers listen to

OP here, my 28 years old cousin send me a folder full of 90's music and man, mainstream music was 1000 times better.

Also, the music sounds happier.

yes but no
compare it with "before having central heating i had to pick up logs for the fireplace"
it depended if your nearest forest was full of trees or if you had to walk 30 miles on the snow because the car didn't work and the horses were sick, to buy the logs from some extortive shopping mall and try not to die in the road back home
in case you don't get the metaphor,
compared to pre-Google era porn was still easy to find, or not, it all depended if you had cable but stuff like scientific papers and good documentary films? good luck with that

>overhyped shit
everything is nowadays. difference is in how easy to access that shit is now
for example fidget spinners. in the 80s it was this crap:
youtube.com/watch?v=LbviSr-vLqw
but it was limited to non poor kids and even to certain country areas

>Smartphones were a mistake

If you lost someone in a crowd, how did you find them? I'm very curious.

Was 1 in the 90s

Very few answers. I thought Sup Forums was older, but now I think 80% of Sup Forums and Sup Forums have 18 like me kek

>Very few answers.
It was a stupid question.

90s was actually kind of awesome compared to 00s and 10s.

for me it was
early 90s: hip hop recorded on tapes from western radio stations and copied to death among the cool kids. also skateboarding started going mainstream
mid 90s: prodigy. wu-tang! jungle and d'n'b started getting more recognition. graffiti. a lot of graffiti crews popped up. 10grams of weed was something like 1 eur today
late 90s: trip hop was getting popular, but overall it was pure d'n'b and pretty sick raves

OP ask 90's teenager not myspace teenager.

at the designated meeting point. that's what people actually did when there were no mobile phones. chldren were instructed in case of shit happening to retreat to the spot. usually some info kiosk or something similar

I don't think that even half of Sup Forums is 18.

90s were NOT good here

ayyy lmao not even the current year is good there

1990s was fucking rad dude. I was born in 1989, here's what I remember:
Tears of joy after getting a Super Nintendo on the Christmas of 1995
Spice girls were huge and my father was a fan of them. Everytime they were on TV my dad would be like "HEY IT'S A NEW SPICE GIRLS VIDEO"
Alternative music was fucking cool
Cartoons were the best. I remember watching Dexter's lab and PowerPuff girls when they came out just a year after I got cable TV. Good times.
We went out a lot more. We used to build treehouses, skateboard a lot and just hang out outside. We didn't have cell phones at that time but we always knew where to find each other and our parents always knew where we were,
Going to a cybercafe to use internet and go on online chatrooms or play shitty ass online miniclip games was pretty funny

You fucking retards

Being born in the internet era is the best thing, OP came a bit late to the party, best years to be born were 2002-2003, having everything handed, having Uber, mass smartphones with mobile date and instant messengers making EVERYTHING easier, having Tinder and online dating to maximize your fucking chances, having IG so people can select you between fuckable and non-fuckable to speed things up

Guys who were born in 2002 are having the best possible lives in history, at least in my country

This is what people think nowadays. How sad. In my early teen years we didn't have smartphones and everyone still fucked all the same

youtube.com/watch?v=Rlq5Jb94QXA

>Being born in the internet era
i got my first 33kbps modem in 95 and it was sick! i could download a song in only an hour or so. also internet was fucking comfy nest back then

my sister was a teen in the end of 80s/begin of 90s
like the filipino mentioned, Grunge and existential angst were big
not as in that emo crap but real philosophical questioning. the so called generation X. you can look movies with Winona Ryder in them to know what i'm saying
Boy bands were the thing for her and other goodie two-shoes though:
youtube.com/watch?v=mYli-jGsZgM
youtube.com/watch?v=fV8vB1BB2qc&t=43s
me i was more into raves.... except i was 8, i could never go to one
youtube.com/watch?v=XLWzFda6C60

>having everything handed, having Uber, mass smartphones with mobile date and instant messengers making EVERYTHING easier, having Tinder and online dating to maximize your fucking chances, having IG so people can select you between fuckable and non-fuckable to speed things up
uh.. we're all having that user, young and old alike

anyone did any phreaking back in the day? it was huge in eesti. me and my friends had telephone cards with maximum credit at all times and the older guys built actual boxes to hack into telephone lines

Attached: hackers.jpg (970x545, 208K)

>Not using Sub7 hacking tool to open your friend's CD-Rom drives and delete their system files
Weak

Attached: 1491706438079.jpg (496x499, 32K)

lol i only dreamed of doing it
there was always this guy as school that claim he would put ice on the telephone cards and get unlimited credit

Well, the music was okay, but you need to request them on radio stations to play or rerolling the cassette tape. There's also video tape (VHS) to watch video that my dad used to rent. Kamen Rider, Ultramans 80, Ultraman 7, Super Sentai, Robocop, Animaniac, Yokies, Barney, Sesame Street, Power Rangers, Doraemon, Gaban, Speed Racer, Captain Tsubasa, Snorks, Dino Saucer, Transformers cartoon, Thundercats, Batman the animated series, the old Superman cartoon, there's this black cat cartoon I think it sounded Italian or something, Popeye the sailorman, Tom and Jerry (classic ones uncut), Scooby Doo (classic), Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies cartoons, M.A.S.K., Garfield and Friends, Berenstein Bears, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (classic), Snoopy, Tommy and Oscar, to name a few. These cartoon usually shown in the morning and 5 - 8pm on tv. When the tv can't display properly, you have to knock it at the back and readjust the antenna. Never heard of Internet or computer. Mostly played outside and build our own adventure using leaves, tree branches, and dumpster. When it's raining, played outside and the mud. Was a happy and scary times because parents were strict. Sleep early and the only time where I can't wait to listen to was my late granny stories.

>this black cat cartoon I think it sounded Italian or something
this one?
youtube.com/watch?v=acsxg2vBwvo
btw did you know? the reason why all those cartoons disappeared from the airwaves is so you buy cable packages with dedicated channels to retro

threatening other yunguns with sending them a trojan was a big thing

the 90's and 2000's up to 2007 were just fucking awful.

maybe but nothing compares in shittiness to the 2010-2018 era
the age of Bieber

Similar here but Britpop (a mix of rock and pop) defined the decade more than anything else.

fuck yeah Happy Mondays
youtube.com/watch?v=2CQLAhNlbfQ

Many many rock bands with an electronic twist and airy singing. Lots of female artists too. Curve were one of my favourites and Toni Halliday is my 90sfu.

youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Plourz3Xs

You had trip hop explode as a genre too - Portishead being the best.

Yes this is the one! But maybe it was a different one, the name was megalo? figaro?

>Portishead being the best.
true dat. beth a best girl

hmm maybe this one then
youtube.com/watch?v=M3XkdR8Me4A
but it's not italian but anime

90's were pretty interesting in Eastern Europe. But also pretty shit.

As far as American pop-culture goes, they were completely shit, except for video-games and early internet.

This.
Ah, yes because Bieber is the defining feature of this decade.

For Irish music maybe.

him, Pew Die Pie and all the other faggots at youtube
to be fair to this decade however, it was the beginning of "specialized streams" too, you can choose what to listen and watch instead of waiting on the stations to have mercy on you and put your groove on
i never watched PDP myself, instead looking at music videos for free. that was untought of in the 90s unless you had a VCR and kept zapping and recording what you wanted

this one looks too new. I'm really sure that it was western made, not anime. Thanks anyway.

There's been a big 80's resurgence recently too. Just wait until the 2020's and the 90's will make a comeback.

>I was born in 2000.

Fuck off, anyone under 25 isn't human and shouldn't be allowed to post here.

Attached: 1493954704494.jpg (905x881, 266K)

>bez is their most famous member
>all he does is dance around like a twat with a tambourine

Fucking Bez lmao.

Anyone over 25 has grown senile and shouldnt post here.

the better question is what are you doing with your youth little shit
>when i was young i browsed Sup Forums

kek

Shut the fuck up you vile little gen Z virgin freak.

Young people should be out and enjoying themselves, not wasting their youth on this shithole website. Us old people have nothing else left apart from shitposting.

wonder what the people who love to label generation will do when the alphabet runs out, which it pretty much has with z

Everyone does its no different than playing games
You dont have a family or meaningful employment? I mean thats why old mature people shouldnt be posting here in the first place.

>he wastes his youth playing bido games

Absolute state of gen Z, just fucking kill yourselves already

Attached: 1495050185225.jpg (260x260, 20K)

Gen X was labeled like that because X means unknown
dunno what's up with calling us Gen Y (is it becase of Y2K or because of "yuppie"?) but yeah thinking of what alphabet letters to use next is kinda silly

youtube.com/watch?v=JgffRW1fKDk
This is still a banger

>Everyone does its no different than playing games
Wtf

for me it was Sneaker Pimps.

youtube.com/watch?v=2eBZqmL8ehg

born 1988 here

30th birthday coming soon

same here

>you will never be a dirtbag in 90s uk

Attached: trainspotting_best_scene_630[1].jpg (630x400, 398K)

That's pretty chill mate. Nice tune.

that's trip hop, a very british and 90's genre. they only had one good album, then turned to shit when they kicked the singer out.

CAUSE I'M JUST A TEENAGE DIRTBAG BABY

Gonna get myself a trip hop playlist then. Btw, I am a fan of UK garage as well.

youtu.be/OChjVLHlkVE
THPS2 was the shit!

Just listen to Portishead's three albums and Massive Attack's first three albums, then go from there.

You forgot to include Underworld's tune.
