Something tells me you never had a good shawarma in your entire life. I agree that mexican food is great when done properly, but so is any other food. You're also trying to denounce a generalisation while making a generalisation yourself.

Funny as I have been to UAE,KSA, Oman and Egypt. The mutton filled philo things are ok but really meat hung on a spike all day is a joke. Real tacos BTFO any arap street food.

Well that's your taste man, everyone has a certain taste when it comes to food but I've never met a single person who unironically hates shawarma. There is also like a thousand variations of shawarma, so maybe you just didn't like the ones you tried.

yeah that's part of the reason why shawarma is superior, it's easier and cheaper to make a good shawarma than a good taco. also not a huge taco fan myself, im more into burritos :^)

burritos are american as in originated in the USA. but yeah they are fine. I have a lot of mexicans living around here(south seattle, no LA for me anymore) so lots of real taco places. and yeah if I am in the mood I will go get shawarma as well. I also eat hamburgers. Tacos when done right are just tastier with more complex flavors than any of those. At least for street food it is one of the world best. and euros never get to have them, just taco bell nockoffs. I feel sad for them.

Yeah I guessed it without you even telling me, of course you'd like tacos more when you're surrounded by people who actually know how to make them properly. burritos are tex mex (american and mexican). More arabs in europe than latinos, so they appreciate arap cuisine more. mexican food is also a lot more spicy, wypipo cant handle spices very well.

They definitely are. I was in Mexico a couple weeks ago and the hostels were filled with Germans.

Just stop it. Arab food is meh-tier and Mexican food (cdmx, Puebla, Oaxaca) is some of the best in the world. Only maybe Malaysian food is better.

I'm not disagreeing though, I like both mexican and arab food. I'm just saying food is always better when you try it at someone who actually knows what they're doing. Shawarma doesn't require that much skill to make properly.

I have spent time in MENA for work over the years so I have had it done well. the other user is correct about malaysian food being close in skill to mexican. They can also make a great hamburger which mexico unfortunately has yet to do.
