2) Did your country had a period when the swashbuckle movies were popular?
3) Post the most significant swashbuckle movie from your country

Flag
1979 (release of D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers with Mikhail Boyarsky) -1998 (end of Contess de Monsoraut broadcasting)
1979's Three Musketeers is, probably, the most popular of all the russian/soviet swashbuckle movies.

In the 50/60s

France
Everytime but 50-70 were big
D'Artagnan also, many films about the 3 musketeers. Don't remember which.

I think the most recent from France is The Princess of Montpensier

Zorro original tv series had 2 reruns, one when i was like 4 years old. dunno if it counts, euro stuff never resonated so much in our culture
youtube.com/watch?v=LY4rASclHns
even the Zorro's different remakes were popular-ish

And what about live action?

Instantly reminded of the cartoon I used to watch as a kid. It was about the 12 musketeers with Richelieu as the baddy and girl with duck tat.

My favourite version if the 1973 film with Oliver Reed.

Attached: Oliver Reed Three-Musketeers-The-1973.jpg (1420x799, 233K)

mine too
Raquel Welch and Faye Dunaway were in it

Christopher Lee plays Rochefort too.

it's also one of the few movies that i remember where they actually have a reason to call them musketeers: they operated muskets
like really, all the other versions were about how D'Artagnan is some fencing genius and forgot about muskets

In soviet version they use muskets during several episodes, like La Rochelle siege.

>>swashbuckle movies
Would this suffice it?

>Alatriste
great taste

it doesn't but it should
>set in the 1700s
>there's swords
>there's one or two who are great at swordfighting
>occasionally there's pirates and guns even

>Richelieu as the baddie
Pr*testoid propaganda

Chanbara movies are accepted too

Albert the Fifth Musketeer was a French cartoon though.
