yeah it's worth it, it's a beautiful city, but if you want a more laid back experience after visiting Rome go to Cagliari
it's not so big but it has everything you could find in other Italian cities: lots of history (an awesome archeological museum too!), top tier food (go to Mercato San Benedetto, a food market, for this kind of things), nice people and a wonderful seaside to just chill out under the mediterranean sun

i only have around 6 weeks of time though, so if i spend too much time in italia i might not have enough time to properly tour france
