Triple A games, mmos, and call of duty remakes are tapering down. Its a good era. Hollywood puts out a +100mil. Blockbuster once a week during summer season (summer now starts at the end of february all the way to August and makes a quick comeback in December) and they wonder why nobody's watching their movie.
Pretty sure more people than ever go to the cinema but when you start putting out Blockbusters so soon in the year, don't be surprised when people aren't going in August.

Everything went downhill the moment highspeed internet became readily available. Then people could just download a movie instead of paying $14 a ticket in theaters. Stream shows instead of bothering with a tv or cable provider. And pirate a game because it's only like 3-4 hours of entertainment anyway and that is not worth $60 at all.
Between that, streaming hours and hours of anime or reading fan translated, free to read manga.
