Classic videogames has been switched for "mobile games", For example CoC or Clash Royale generates more revenue monthly than the total sales of many AAA games. The same way Movies/DVDs/Blurays has been switched over Netflix and similar streaming services.
Now everything is internet.

Social Media such as Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat is what normies do in their free time.
Also Piracy exist so people don't need to buy anything. Me included. I don't read comics, I don't remember the last time I went to the movie theater, I really don't play vidya , nor do I read books and I could just download any album for free.
Do people still even make CD's? Do people even buy CD's ? Most artist just release music on itunes or put a mixtape on soundcloud. Eitherway you can get these songs for free through torrents.
Luke Thomas
Videogames as a whole aren't dying, just console and PC gaming in the wake of mobile games. Turns out people spend billions on shitty fremium games

There's so much shit to fill your time with dude. Especially since you have the internet to access so much info and content. I dropped video games and most of that shit. I just TV or movies once in awhile now. And that's my time waster.
Jonathan Robinson
You're just simply wrong on all accounts. There is a big classic gaming renaissance with the reboot of the isometric frog genre and the explosion of indie platform era and rogue likes. Triple A games, mmos, and call of duty remakes are tapering down. Its a good era. Sure maybe there is some game you will bring up that you don't like but the fact of the matter is your broad stroke depiction of gaming today is wrong.
Asher Walker
It's the recent crop of liberals to discover Sup Forums, very young, very american and very desperate because everyone shits on them. They always get tired and go away after a couple of weeks. Until the next group of morons arrives.

literature and music are the only fields that probably still produce something meaningful but it usually gets drowned in huge quantities of average stuff and it's tremendously hard to locate. Even there your are better off focusing on the masterworks of the past decades/centuries that are enough to last for a lifetime.
Gavin Bennett

On that same note, comics and video games are man child interests to begin with and are catered to a more immature audience and will be out grown in time if you are a well adjusted person.
Movies are definitely in a lull though.

Literature and Music both benefit from the evening of playing field away from massive production values and marketing shit. It's not necessarily record companies that are doing better but there's more produced and more available. Plus it's cheap as fuck to start your own label if you're in that sort of position so everyone did.

Hollywood puts out a +100mil. Blockbuster once a week during summer season (summer now starts at the end of february all the way to August and makes a quick comeback in December) and they wonder why nobody's watching their movie.
Pretty sure more people than ever go to the cinema but when you start putting out Blockbusters so soon in the year, don't be surprised when people aren't going in August.

>comics try desperately to stand out and appeal to what art school graduates think the market wants, then even said art school graduates don't purchase the comics

>skinnerbox marketing tactics makes video games into nothing but diminishing returns simulators that are specifically designed to last only as long as it takes to develop the next game and start the cycle all over again
>publishers have shifted from sifting through mountaints of shit in order to publish great books to a business model that opens it's doors to every retard with a keyboard and a checkbook. Where you pay up front for the publishing run you want and, maybe, get a return on your investment into yourself, resulting in mountains of shit being published, leaving readers to sift through and find something worth a fuck that simply isn't there
>all popular music is produced by the same three people, meaning it all sounds exactly the fuck alike, and everything else has been fractured into so many all-but-identical "genres" that its impossible to really find anything unique/interesting anymore
fpbp but also streaming. as who the fuck wants to pay $15 for the privilege of paying another $25 for some corn products so you can sit in a dark room surrounded by niggers, when you can just stay at home and watch whatever you want on your comically massive television?

People didn't stop reading comics, playing games, and watching movies. They definitely are and in possibly higher numbers.
They just stopped paying for it.
Everything went downhill the moment highspeed internet became readily available. Then people could just download a movie instead of paying $14 a ticket in theaters. Stream shows instead of bothering with a tv or cable provider. And pirate a game because it's only like 3-4 hours of entertainment anyway and that is not worth $60 at all.
Between that, streaming hours and hours of anime or reading fan translated, free to read manga.
The industry trying to get money for it all is dying but the content is definitely reaching the masses every minute of the day.
Nathaniel Jenkins
Just added these to my filter. Cheers

all those articles talking about worst summer/year for movies in decades aren't deducting budget from gross. As despite all the gimmicks that have been fielded to put asses in more expensive seats, ticket sales have steadily declined since the inventions of, in order, affordable private air conditioning, the television, the VHS, the DVD, affordable massive HD televisions, etc.
Owen Martin
