I like to think I have a pretty eclectic taste overall, but I'm curious what impression my favorites give.

>Alien 3
>any cut

I was never a huge fan of Shaw because she has so little personality, but root was great and the story was so good I was able to overlook that issue.

Alien is an atmospheric horror franchise, and Alien 3 did that the best of all of them. If this is a prelude to praising Aliens then you need to leave.

>Films
Big Labowski
Conan the Barbarian
Predator
Life Aquatic
Dumb and Dumber

>Shows
Early Simpsons
Seinfeld
Venture Bros
Twin Peaks
MST3K

No particular order.

My problem with Root is that they went a little overboard in making her a formidable agent. It only gets a little leeway from me because it was done in an interesting way (her interfacing with the machine). Shaw as a character I didn't mind as much, but her writing was a little inconsistent. Her romance with Root, for example, felt completely forced. The audience is explicitly told that she is a sociopath and are shown that she had zero reaction to her father's death as a child, but they try and handwave all that by saying the emotions are supposedly there and just burried deep down. It comes across as lazy writing that was just trying to justify a lesbian romance.

Your taste is utterly generic and safe, you will like any film mentioned in a regular "best films ever" imdb list

How to spot a low IQ.jpg

I would say he is pretty spot on, if you are that guy you already sound pretentious.

>I would say he is pretty spot on
About what? Calling foreign films "pretentious"?

actually no. i mean id ignore the gimmes but yada yada yada lets see what ya got.

its not a trick question.

4. Twin Peaks
5. Carnivale

thanks mate, you are pretty cool too.

Why do you have The Leftovers rated so highly? Especially over more universally significant picks such as The Sopranos and The Wire?

I thought it was a good show, certainly, but left a lot to be desired. Many of the storylines were left unconcluded (whether the open-endedness is intentional is anyone's guess, but I think it's a copout because the writers didn't have the ability to weave everything together as well as it needed to be to execute without derision) and it devolved from a story about the grand workings of the universe to a tale of mortal love—a diaphanous thread belonging to a much more impressive spool.

>Why do you have The Leftovers rated so highly?
Because I like it.

I think you're right. I dislike Godfather, Schinder's list, Star wars, fucking Indiana Jones and some of the other "well known good movies" but that list have pretty much all my favorite too.

>I dislike Godfather
...how?

Trashy.

Shit taste, then.

Okay then.That's your opinion.

Way of the Gun is incredibly underrated. The story and acting weren't exceptional, but they were decent enough, and the movie had the most realistic gunfights/operating I've seen in a movie.

You can't justify why you like it beyond "I like it." That's an LCD response expected from remedial high schoolers who only watch Marvel movies.

Enjoy being limited.
