If we made contact, the ayys would have had to come from the closest planets, and the next closest start is 4 light years away. However, when you look at earth and look at the other planets from a distance, you can see a lot of green on earth and other dynamic features that would suggest life exists on the planet in a robust form. When you look at mars from a distance or the moon, it's just a big rock. Life may exist there in microscopic form, but nothing as robust as an ayy. As it stands, it's is extremely unlikely that an ayy has ever made contact with this planet

Because space is so big,The galaxies are moving farther apart, and lots of civs might not make it past some extermination event

If the current theories of physics are correct, then nothing can move faster than light. Even if we somehow manage to create spaceships that can travel at light speed (which won't happen), the distances will still be too large.

Look at it this way: many of the objects in the night sky you can see are actually snapshots of what they were like billions of years ago. Even if the universe went through a period teeming with intelligent life for a few billion years then next to nothing for a few billion years, those living in the void wouldn't ever really have any further contact and the universe to them may as well be entirely without life.

When looking at things at the timescale of galaxies, you have to understand that time, like distance and energy, is another dimension prone to relative value.
