Why are there no new (good) Werewolf Movies?
Other urls found in this thread:
Because shit like Twilight and True Blood ruined them.
It's okay, there's still Bad Moon, Dog Soldiers and American Werewolf in London to watch over and over and over and over again.
Late Phases and even then the costumes are fucking horrible.
You are wrong
ummm Project Metalbeast called and would like to have a word with you
I agree. If that movie had a budget, it would of been legit. It's still a fun film though.
:(
I watched the first 20 minutes of that on netflix and still felt like it was a waste of money.
I'll give this a watch.
The high star ebert review is comforting.
But still, i am mired in butthurt over the lack of a well put together high budget werewolf movie.
Of the big scary variety.
nigga that looks awful
>20 minutes
Literal ADD I'm guessing.
You're not wrong, but I thought the acting was stiff, the character actions nonsensical, the costumes horrible, and the directing janky.
It felt like every other low-budget werewolf shitfest
>Bad Moon
Is it really as good as the others?
underworld blood wars came out earlier this year and got some werewolves in it.
Don't forget Full Eclipse with van Peebles.
Wolfkino not mentioned in this thread
>Wolfman 1941
>Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman
>The Howling
>Ginger Snaps
Stop watching kids movies, faggots.
Did you mean to post this in a capeshit thread?
big bad wolf
Pic related is pretty good
I can't speak for the first two, but I don't see how any reasonable person could like the howling.
I didn't like the rest of the movie but that godawful sex scene stood out as being particularly grating.
I felt like Ginger Snaps was at least a reasonable try, but was very much a low budget 90s teen angst movie coupled with the standard bad werewolf schlock.
It wasn't a (good) movie though.
>I can't speak for the first two
You should at least watch the first one, it's one of the better universal monster flicks.
>I don't see how any reasonable person could like the howling
It's definitely flawed, but I remember liking the story. The idea of a commune of werewolves that actually like being monsters is neat.
Big bad wolf, Project Metalbeast, the Howling movie in the castle, Howl, and Silver Bullet are all good as well.
Also a werewolf movie with Kevin sorbo in it thats fun

>no brotherhood of the wolf
Plebs
2015's "Howl" was okay and a bit fun to watch.
to spoop
>tfw prisoner of azkaban is the best werewolf movie of the last 20 years
I was under the impression that there were no werewolves in that movie.
Wolfcop
Because people generally don't like werewolves for a number of reasons.
>general story hooks have all been played out, werewolves in general don't seem to be all that interesting or necessary for an interesting story
>they aren't as popular as vampires because you don't need a lot of special effects or good design, you just need a human more or less for a vampire
>people would associate that shit with furries these days
etc
There's a giant wolf controlled by a cult that kills villagers and silver bullets so I think it fits the bill.
isn't it just a lion stolen from africa or some shit covered in armor?
Van Helsing
Yes, in the movie that's what it turns out to be. But it's based on a much more interesting French folklore cryptid, the Beast of Gévaudan.
Ginger Snaps
