Season 13

>Season 13
>currently the longest running sci-fi/fantasy show from NA
wew

This show was shit when I was a kid and it's still shit now.

Is the fandom for this still incest obsessed?

Season 8 should have been the last

>Season 5 should have been the last
FTFY

besides, 11 and 12 were waaay better than the shit show that is 8-10. Fucking memetron

no, they switched to destiel baiting crap instead

i wonder what show will take its helm once it finishes.

I've been watching this show on and off since it started but I honestly can't remember at what point did the fanbase become so insufferable, was it when Cas was brought in?

The finale where they tried closing both gates should've been the last of the Angels/Demons arc and back to basic hunting like they've been promising us for years.

>once it finishes

Wayward Sisters is happening this year. along with their newest contract being for this year and next.

>ending

It's going to fail like the other pilot did

It was most commonly brought up idea for a spinoff and they're using jodie mills to take the show back to grittier roots. I don't think so.

Fan favorite lead, a woman, which is rare in itself. If they take it back to roots like they said, I think it will do well.

Chicago pilot was a massive departure from the base show

>The finale where they tried closing both gates should've been the last of the Angels/Demons arc
i agree, it was getting stale. Purgatory + monsters + old ones should have been expanded

>back to basic hunting like they've been promising us for years
except they did this with season 6 and people threw a fit anyway

Wasn't season 6 the leviathans? That was stupid as fuck

>Purgatory + Alphas

The fact monsters have their own culture and ideas of apocalypse and shit like the episode with Garth becoming a werewolf had some incredibly interesting ideas but it is a shame it got abandoned so quickly over Angel/Demon bollocks.

Winchester Brothers + Bobby alive have to kill Sisters Halliwell to stop Lucifer's evil clone from destroying God's father and save Dean from the nth demonic pact he did to save Sam from his nth+1 demonic pact.
They have two days of prep time. Who wins?

Season 6 had the nice monster progression
>monsters
>monsters that don't follow their old patterns/habits/range
>pack leaders
>ancient and powerful monsters (dragons) resurfacing
>new and hybrid monsters
>alphas
>Eve the Mother of All
Season 7 brought the Leviathans aka the Old Ones

Was the latest season interesting? I stopped watching like two episodes into it when their mom left to do her own shit

>Winchester Brothers + Bobby alive have to kill Sisters Halliwell
>Who wins?
Buffy

It won't. Nobody cares about fucking Jody and her shitty step daughters.

it picked up when they revealed the princes of hell although of course it fucked up the demonic hierarchy YET AGAIN

Leviathans and Abadonn we still pretty good
But I agree, Metatron was absolute bullshit.

I like how they defeated Metatron with the POWER OF THE MICROPHONE like in that one American Dad episode where Steve and his friends announce offensive shit over the school speakers.

The leviathans aged well after i watched Angel and got accustomed to "evil in a corporate suit" and with the political undertones

Abaddon was very interesting at first but they kept nerfing her power levels and was a huge red herring when they were trying to "cure" Crowley and setting up Abaddon as the new big bad but then they just took it back anyway and reinstalled Crowley back as the king of hell

Memetron was so fucking shit, his arc had no point at all. You can remove chunks of seasons 8-10 and it wouldn't have mattered and they could have just gone straight to the Darkness arc. That era had no direction and cohesion AT ALL. Plus, Metatron acting like God and rewriting the rules was pretty much like Carver shitting on the established lore of Kripke

hard to say. While most of the fanbase (who are screaming girls who ship everyone they want) would support this, there are a few supernatural shows right now that are led by females (Wynona Earp, Van Helsing) that don't seem to be gaining much traction

>Sam and Dean go through hell and death to constantly save each other
>oh but that third brother who lmao

Angels have been and are the worst part about this show. I would take a Felicity-sized romantic subplot in every show the CW produces over more angel shit.

>Season 2 should have been the last

Now Its fixed

Chicago pilot wasn't even supernatural. It was like an even shittier version of the Dresden Files tv show

>Angels have been and are the worst part about this show
not when scenes like this exist or raphael's electric wings

I remember when Castiel first appeared it was the hypest shit, especially recently after the fake-angel episode with Dean losing faith. And Crowley and all the demons in disbelief and pissing their pants.

Then angels become corporate mob fodder who die by the numbers.

if someone did an edited cut of this show, and turned season 1-5 into about season 1-3, it would be pure, pure kino.

there was a lot of magic in the first 5 seasons. but it properly went to shit after s5. had to drop it late in s6, was horrificially bad

Effects are nothing without good story.
That said, I did omit the glory of Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer. That shit always gets me super hype, I can't wait to see how he snakes out his current predicament.
over/under on mama Winchester hooking up with lucifer?

He got cucked hard.

>had to drop it late in s6, was horrificially bad
>Eve the mother of all
>three-way war between heaven, hell and purgatory
>plot twist about Castiel proclaiming himself as God

the latter part of season 6 tied up everything well and salvaged the somewhat shaky and messy start of the season

>Effects are nothing without good story
fortunately, it's not just effects. Adding angels into the story highlighted how Dean was the obedient good son (Michael) while Sam was the rebellious kid (Lucifer). They finally had both roles to play instead of Sam hogging all the predetermined supernatural bullshit that was in seasons 1-3

Plus, it allowed the show to use the four horsemen and gave us Death so you can take a seat and be quiet

I started rewatching this recently, after ditching the show after Leviathan season.

Gotta say, I was fucking impressed. Show still holds up today. Seasons 10 and 11 blew me away. Misha Collins as lucifer was the best acting hands down in the history of the show, and some episodes like Beyond the Mat and Devil in the Details are fucking GOAT as far as I'm concerned.

But... How the fuck did the writers get away with the (((stein))) family stuff?

>Then angels become corporate mob fodder who die by the numbers.
I'm convinced that a bunch of atheists and non-Christians in Hollywood have made it their mission to degrade, embarrass and shit all over angels as a concept. If you look at Eastern depictions of angels they are powerful as fuck even when they either turn out to be evil or kind of dicks or just want to kill everything. In western shows you have angels being black people, weak as fuck or being petty morons who get tricked by humans.

Even in Supernatural they are like "hurrdurr this form is just a container because I would be the size of a skyscraper" but then they get into fights that are essentially poorly choreographed fist/knife fights and die like fucking chumps. You know what else had angels the size of skyscrapers? Evangelion. They certainly weren't fucking chumps.

Is Michael still inhabiting him or did they torture him too?

I honestly care more about Michael being brought back than Adam

>If you look at Eastern depictions of angels they are powerful as fuck even when they either turn out to be evil or kind of dicks or just want to kill everything.

Riigghhttt

>sci-fi/fantasy show
Disgusting. Supernatural has nothing to do with sci-fi. I hate it when faggots think science fiction and fantasy are even remotely related.

That cherry picking though. The vast majority of angel and angel like beings in anime are extremely over-powered as fuck.

i know they're different but the industry always lumps them together

The concept of angels and demons in the East are pure fucking novelty for cheap entertainment. It's not the West alone, the gravitas of the Christian mythos is rarely portrayed as scary as it actually is.

Except for demons; demons and devils are always the favourites of fiction.

season 11 with the return of Chuck was amazing!

the show is fun. it doesnt take itself seriously. it knows its run its course. now i just fucks around, is super self aware, and just generally keeps putting the brothers in ridiculous situations.

we should be praising the show for being self aware of it's own ridiculousness.

few shows, if any, have become what supernatural is.

Of course they are a fucking novelty. The dude who did Evangelion didn't even know the mythology. He just took some random shit and created his own thing out of it.

Doesn't change the fact that in the west angels are often depicted as weak chumps. Even in Legion where they tried to make them scary they were still chumps in the end.

>not wanting Bela Talbot, Ruby and Anna to happen
what a fag

Vigne best girl tho

I know this show is tumblr bait but is it actually good or not?

You mean the obedient son/rebellious son that they dropped immediately afterward?
Also Death was the only good horseman. Not convinced he's actually dead.

My own pet peeve is that Dean basically becoming a torturer demon while he was in hell rarely got touched on again after he came back to life.
He just hooked up with a single mom for a while and that was it, back to plain Dean.

It's gold until S5 end.

Max landis' comment about wrestling applies here:
>don't get me wrong, a lot of it sucks - but when it's good, it's fucking great
The impala pov episode is kino

At a certain point it feels like you wasted your time watching it. It's not the worst thing in the world but it's not really great either.

well of course the show moved on to other lore, how would it be relevant still when dealing with the mother of all monsters?

first five seasons are the most coherent and best seasons. show took a dip around 8-10. 11-12 were upswings but still kind of below the first 5. give it a try

They've never done justice with the whole dark side Dean type thing. I remember when he killed the kitsune and pissed off Sam but that never really went anywhere.

Dean literally became a knight of hell as was foreshadowed in Season 3's Dream A Little Dream of Me

Same with Sam's psychic powers, id like to see them be at least referenced.
But on second thought, they did continue that line of thinking: Dean being trapped in the nightmare that he'd demonify, Dean getting hit with the Mark of Cain and getting addicted to killing and slaughtering the Steins and beating the shit out of Castiel (that was a fucking great moment), Dean finally admitting that, yes, he does in fact just straight up enjoy administering violent death.

What is the Canon demonic hierarchy currently now anyways?

poor Buffy. Her nose just kept growing. Those Jew genes.

Prince(s) of Hell >= Lilith

very debatable. Lilith is a white-eyed demon along with Alastair, but Lilith is the only one mentioned when it comes to "A-listers" or those in line for the throne. Princes have powers not shown by Lilith, but Lilith was very first demon and knew how to break the seals

Cain was the father of murder and the strongest among the knights of hell, and he could only be killed with the first blade. whether he is immune to the colt (which the princes and lilith aren't) is also debatable

knights of hell probably follow

king of crossroads, maybe?

special demons like astaroth (tammi the witch who stopped the colt bullet midair), ruby, seven deadly sins, meg, etc

regular fodder black eyes

crossroads/redeyes

unknown: tempter demon (only exists in alternate timeline so far)
acheri

>caring about canon on current year supernatural

this hurts

I forget how sexy she is.

Too bad Death got fucking scythed.

I can't remember how far I got into it but did he ever come back afterwards?

a reaper implied a "new Death" but nothing concrete

Jodie Mills spinoff is awright, but I'd rather see the black witch guy with new massive power boost and deal with a demon and his twin straw man sister

Not yet, but it's only been two seasons.

yfw nuDeath will be a young pretty snarky girl

calling it now

>new death
cannot wait to see how they'll fuck it up.
i'll also join you in that bet

>it's just Death, of the Endless
>supernatural crossover with SandGaiman
I want this so bad

did you also hate kid-Lilith?

Also openly bisexual, somehow hates pickle chips

i honestly don't remember enough to care.
might try and download the seasons if my hard drive can spare it

I liked kid Lilith. But you have to admit the show has an unending fevor for hot sulty villainesses who are meant to be primordial evils.

It was fine with Meg, but then they had to go all Abaddon, Lilith, Eve, the Darkness and on.

let's go the other way and think of something totally unexpected/iconic

>John Winchester becomes the new Death
>a cameo from another cult show like Buffy/Angel
>something else entirely

>>John Winchester becomes the new Death
That would be fucking amazing. Or they could setup an entire season where all these ancient primordial powers are competing in a faction war for the title.

>you have to admit the show has an unending fevor for hot sulty villainesses who are meant to be primordial evils
that's what happens when your protagonists are walking sausagefests. Gotta balance the show somehow

The second half makes more sense: just as even Zeus, king of the Gods, paid fealty to Fate, even God will be reaped, which makes the current Death top dog

They could have at least made her look dishevelled and demonic, not like an American Apparel model.

>Comparing the concept of mytical/religious Angels to little gay Animes
Yeeeeees

>They could have at least made her look dishevelled and demonic
i got you senpai

That's the show's thing though. These divine and demonic entities looking and almost behaving like regular people.

Get's on my nerves real fucking hard most times.

I care about fucking Jodie iykwim ;) :o

>Zeus, king of the Gods, paid fealty to Fate
Zeus died in season 8 and Fate works for Heaven

It wasn't effects, that was a legit good scene. The angels were originally good, but they've been flanderized to all hell and back as they were only supposed to be in the presumed final season.

Now they're pointless, and don't even make sense. At first they'd smite demons on sight, and could give you cancer by looking at you , now the Winchesters get into fist fights with them and win. Shit makes no sense.

I can't think of the last time Castiel has done anything useful. The guy is the definition of a jobber.

>That's the show's thing though. These divine and demonic entities looking and almost behaving like regular people.
It's total bullshit because the longer you live the less human you'd become. That's just reality. With increased ability to retain knowledge and other shit there is no way these demons would be delivering a bunch of quips all the time.

My favorite depiction of an angel is from The Prophecy.

S11 > S5 legitimately. "S1-5 only" fags are mindless plebs

How about when he played Death as Adam Sandler's version in Click?

Creature of the Week: Goat
Everything else: Shit
Angel/Demon/God shit: Bleach in eyes please.

>At first they'd smite demons on sight, and could give you cancer by looking at you , now the Winchesters get into fist fights with them and win. Shit makes no sense
well the nuAngels lost most of their mojo after memetron but i agree, they used to be great, which is why i hated that season 8 went back to heaven vs hell. they should have brought eve back with medusa eyes, draconic wings, and a manticore tail and wrought even more monstrous beings as vengeance

Haven't seen it.

And what exactly does "demonic" entail? That's the real problem. They had it right in the beginning: angels were beings not just punching above your weight class, but punching in ways you could not begin to comprehend. They took human form in order to not harm you with their true form, not because they act human.
The better use of Angels is the way divine beings are treated in DB Super - beings with divine ki can't even be sensed by mortal ki users because they just can't comprehend it. Then they fight a legit God of Destruction and can't actually hurt him at all so they try to talk him down.
It's not an ant trying to kill a human, it's a square trying to outperform a cube.

Anyone going to the supernatural con in pittsburgh this weekend?

>tfw you'll never see biblical angels in tv or movies
>you only see them in fucking jRPGs

is this the guy who plays flash?

I mean Greek myth Zeus and Fate.
Zeus was so powerful, he was like "what you don't like the way I run shit? Come try to drag me off mount Olympus - I'll pull you all up myself"
But even he had to treat Fate as someone to be respected. Even has a deathless being, a god could still suffer.

Lel no. Season 11 is good but still falls flat compared to season 5. God can easily revive his archangels and make MIchael sane again except he wont. And despite the finale pulling a "defense of mt. hyjal against archimonde" with darkness vs witches, demons, angels and God, it still felt flat. Why did the hyper beam of heaven deal less damage than some 20 regular black demon wisps against Amara? At least we can't fault S5 because it didn't show the actual showdown but S11 have all the "big guns" and still feeling incomplete

He starts off as some inventor guy that gives Adam's character the remote that allows him to manipulate life exactly like you would when watching a movie and then later reveals that he's an angel but to adam's confusion, reveals again that's he's actually the angel of death.

Probably one of Adam's very few decent movies.

Says who? Are old people less human because they know and have seen more?

I read somewhere that they want it to run for 666 episodes
