And don't say, "BUT VAMBRE'S BUTT AND THE GHOST'S BREASTS ARE TIGHT", I've never found the female characters endearing.

This.
I prefer cute over lewd anyday.

I'd rather just watch slayers again than watch this shit

Attempt to replace Adventure Time #6

It won't be a memorable attempt.

>lulrandum the show

You're being mistaken with this.

MM is trying to be like TTGo

No-one is stopping you, user.

Just a kids show.

Personally, from what I've seen it's actually an alright show with decent comedy, but a jarring peeve is that it's way too fast-paced. It might work for a child's mind, and I understand that this is how it was as a short, since they had to compact it into three minutes or so, but, for me, it makes watching it a little awkward.

It appeals to my subtle dumb sense of humor, like how they pronounce business as "buisness".

My biggest complaint is the sword designs are shit. If your going to make a show about magic swords make cool swords. Don't be lazy and slap a hilt on random crap and call it a sword.

Kyle, how many times are you going to post this thread?

>Uncle Grandpa w/ swords

It's fine.

I wish it had a higher budget. The style would benefit from higher quality animation.

The pilot made me cringe so hard my asshole came out my mouth. I haven't been able to watch a single episode. Why did they greenlight it?

Not that bad.

I think it has a lot of potential. There are people on this board who have a hatred of it that makes me think they're Newgrounds alums from when the creators made a lot of enemies there. Unfortunately CN doesn't, I think, have a lot of faith in the idea and isn't going to give it the budget or energy Adventure Time got, which is a shame because I'd love more fantasy adventure shows on TV that don't degrade into the storyboarding team's issues with sex.

It's mindless fun clearly made for a target audience of kids.
Appraently many people in Sup Forums believe there's a problem in that.

Also Vambre makes a great semen demon

A tad too fast paced, they should slow down a little.

But kinda OK.

Medieval Johnny Test. Will not watch.

EXACTLY THIS Kyle's a flawed artist but art has some fun energy to it and while he's not a very good illustrator, his drawings excel when he's telling a sequential story. Animating his stuff in boringly on model Flash (or ToonBoom whatever) tweens just doesn't work; this shouldn't be a "talky show".

I can't even be fucked to care about the writing but I doubt I'm missing literary genius here
It's annoying that hating on Kyle has become a meme because there are very legit criticisms to direct towards his work but people just do it because they feel they HAVE to hate him. Just like with John K (funnily enough they hate each other).

A lot of his aesthetic decisions feel like a shallow imitation of Shotaro Ishinomori's super-cartoony art. I'm almost 100% convinced that's where he got the way he draws bodies from since he's a huge tokusatsu fag.

It's Flash, not ToomBoom

The arms and legs that get thicker as they go on, the huge hands, the simple torso, the general way in which stuff is stylized. It feels like everything he draws has that as a template and he just morphs around the proportions depending on the character.

Not always mind you but often enough that it becomes very noticeable

It's american Slayers for ADD kids.

...

Like here he does it for a chicken where giving skinny legs would make for a more interesting design.

Also those clenched fists he keeps drawing are just something he does to define his "style" and not because it's actually fitting for the pose.

Thats actually really good.

do any of these things ever get made? i feel like i've seen a dozen of them and none of them went anywhere

I like not-Lina's fake british accent.

By clenched fist I should've said clenched fist with index finger extended for no reason.

God this is a GARBAGE Astro Boy. I think a ton of his drawings have some charm despite being flawed but this is just crap.

I don't think it's bad, it just shows the general trend.

And I don't think he uses those proportions as well as Ishinomori.

OP here, about his actual art, I personally think it looks decent.

Not amazing, or awful, just decent.

Something about the posing, mouth expressions and expressions themselves look a little somewhat off and stiff.

Oh and I wouldn't be whining at all if the show was as fully animated as early Star.

Star becoming a talky show instead of an animation show was depressing too.

A lot of his illustrations make it look like he's turned drawing "wacky dynamic loose art" into a robotic process.

I think he's pretty good at drawing comics, and FAR better at it than drawing illustrations. When he's telling a story he can get across more specific emotions with more unique poses & expressions.

Now if the cartoon had this looseness it would be a huge breath of fresh air for a channel full of boring art and animation like CN. But instead it had to have faggot ass tweens.

Its cheap as free!

I'd like to put my MIGHTY MAGISWORD up in Vambre's thight little ass.

The characters are designed to be animated in the Ren and Stimpy style, but instead have puppet flash shit going on.

The gimmick of the swords seems too shallow to ever deliver death. I know thats how we all felt about Adventure Time, but this is a stretch

It feels aimless, like trying to do too many things at the time: is it supposed to be parodic? action packed? sexy? dumb? Yes, everything. It feels desperate at a glance (Ive only seen 3 or 4)

Again just my opinion man, even with this comic for reference, I still think it looks kinda mediocore as a designer.

I don't love it or hate it. I like Vambre but her brother is kinda meh.
I can't imagine this being an anchor show like AT or RS.

Slayers but even stupider.

Except its nothing like slayers.

It took inspiration with the main character designs at least.

I can definitely see that.

I like it.

Good taste.

I like it. I don't love it, but it's alright.

I am still struggling to understand why is it possible for shows like El Tigre to combine cartoony wackiness with admirable humor at an acceptable pace whereas shows like Mighty Magiswords are an unwatchable mess.

Apparently Magiswords were Kyle's brainchild for years before the first animated proposal has been forwarded for CN to greenlit, yet the final product has little to show that it indeed has been the case.

It will be posted whenever Cartoon Network executives demand to see anything that would justify me and my team being paid.

As numbers act against me, I settled for showcasing iternet buzz that my show generates.

It's in good company

>Muh lower budget sabotaged by evil trolls

Even with small budget it is still possible to make it clear that you are able to expand and nurture your trademark idea. And the formula of Magiswords is too shallow and stale to be excused by being low on cash.

You mean your team of talent-less team of animators in Malaysia?

Oh God. Before Problem Solverz I have never met a show with art style hideous enough to prevent me from checking it out.

It is called O-U-T-S-O-U-R-C-I-N-G, get your terms straight, dude.

See this is where you're wrong: this seems to want to have a plot as well as progression. AT was the definition of making it up as it went along only to keep pulling the plug before anything satisfying happened.

I would not compare the two shows.

If anything, it's akin to a better Johnny Test

It's not bad, but it's real problem is that it is too face paced. All the jokes are delivered like it was mentioned for a 3 minute animated YouTube short rather than an 11 minute carroon, yet it drags on at that pace for the full episode

I like it. It makes me smile and I find the female characters endearing.

It's very fast paced with a lot of dialogue but that's not a bad thing, necessarily.

>It's mindless fun clearly made for a target audience of kids.
The funny part is thinking of a kid looking up the show on Wikipedia out of boredom, seeing "Theme song performed by Dan Avidan" and finding fucking Ninja Sex Party.
Then again a good part of the Game Grumps' fans are already twelve-year olds, but still...

Fill me in, why does everybody hate Kyle? The only controversial thing I remember about him is making fun of Kricfalusi in his comic

>The only controversial thing I remember about him is making fun of Kricfalusi in his comic

That isn't controversial, because John K is a douchebag.

The controversial bit is Kyle chimping out at the sight of his show being criticised by an internet nobody, which is pretty much the reason as to why Kyle made fun of John K in the first place.

Why is Stephen Universe allowed to be mediocre and beloved but Mighty Magiswords is so hated despite having about the same quality?

Mh, I see.

Bait harder next time.

Comic in question for reference.

Apparently punching up is nice and dandy only for as long as you are not on the receiving end.

It alright.

Also seems to be doing well and has plenty of material to sell merchandise.

Not a bait, legitimate opinion.

Go back and watch SU's first season.

Stay in your containment thread please. This has nothing to do with SU.

It's like someone took a good show and sped it up by 25%. It has promise but they gotta slow it down. When your witty dialogue is going by so fast it all cascades into itself and completely blows by the viewer, it's pointless.

Also I get the feeling it'd be way better if they totally relied on the visuals to convey what type of sword it was, as opposed to giving each sword an introduction.

>There's literally no smut of Frog Racoon on the internet

Wasn't OTGW one of these before they made it a miniseries.

Don't ever mention that show again.

Wait.

You are that autist who post it on EVERY site.

The one that was shitposted here, when you tried to turn Sup Forums into an angry mob to fire him, because he said mean things to you.

Have any of the character learn to take a breath.

Problem solvers was funny and the artstyle was unique.

It's only a step above Johnny Test in my opinion

Same annoying pacing with only slightly better designs and jokes

Paheal has 4 but they're all god-awful looking

Magiswords was first pitched as an adult swim series or at least something meant for an older demographic, I'm sure they dumbed it down a bit to translate it for 11 minute CN episodes

where's the fucking porn with a dildo sword? The lack of porn only proves that the show is unpopular.

Honestly this show has some of the best written female characters. They just portray them as cool people who hang around and do strange shit like everyone else. There's no overpowered female characters and they just do weird shit like the dude characters. It can easily appeal to either gender because of this.

you're not looking hard enough

I find the art style to be ugly and very off putting so I haven't watched it

It's less bad than I thought it would be, but still ultimately unremarkable.

>this seems to want to have a plot as well as progression
What?

...

...

Nah.

only on air because of waifus.

Writing is shit
Plot is shit
Animation quality is shit
Creator is shit

I tried watching a clip of it on cartoon network's youtube page.
i don't think i made it in a minute before it annoyed me so much i had to stop
guess we're back to cartoon network being fucking SHIT again, huh?

Only the first season. It will get better

You should learn to draw before accusing others, Busterbeam.

MEGA where?

personally, i like it

it's no masterpiece, but i find it entertaining enough, and the 2 warriors are adorable

New episode was alright. The Dino Riders thing was pretty funny, I was sure they were going to form a giant robot or something but it just didn't happen. I have to say I don't like how they put down subtitles only to have someone read them in english. The ending was kind of touching, which I wasn't really expecting from this show but I'll take it.

I like it. Fuck you Sup Forums.

mega when

I feel like the core issues are that for one, it's far too fast-paced, it feels like it needs some goddamn Ritalin and another is that the animation that it has just doesn't work for the style that they use, they need to give the show a better budget so they can get higher quality animation and they gotta slow down the pace

I kind of agree here. This cartoon would be a nice change of pace and and good way to break the current incestous homogenized art styles all the other CN shows currently have, but it needs way more of an investment than a shoestring budget. If CN weren't such jews it could actually be pretty good.

Meh

Could see it being better or worse. They should tone the speed down. Good wafius

A big problem is that this show's universe has no rules. Without rules, I can't get invested.

Adventure Time (what MM is mostly inspired by) had enough of that post apocalyptic touch to imply a deeper history. It was random a lot of the time, but in the same way Fallout can be- these are the bits of society that survived.

Regular Show, Clarence, Gravity Falls, OtGW, Steven Universe, pretty much everything else (that's successful) this generation has some sort of rule system in place, from the wacky to the mundane. But Mighty Magiswords just doesn't have that.

For all I have seen, it is a disliked show. People like the rapeghost, though.

As far as I can tell, the whole series is supposed to be some kind of generic RPG world. Like they're actually IN a video game or something.
