like fine wine

It gets shittier the longer we wait to drink it?

I LOVE KATIA NO MATTER WHAT TAKE YOUR TIME KAZ
HAVE MY ENERGY

No, I was hoping you would have read the filename

Well that didn't work out for you, now did it?

I will make sure to never assume an user reads ever again

Thank you.

>homestuck finished MULTIPLE TIMES before prequel updated
end yourselves

Nice trips.
I'll end myself as a reader of this comic at least. If you don't update, people will not get motivated to check for updates, people will end up forgetting it exists and thus said comic lose reader.
Because this is how you lose readers.

Well I read that asotil comic yesterday, so that's something

Speak for yourself, I'll be doing one last check on my deathbed.

>Poppy updated
>Beatriz Overseer updated
>The US elections came and went
>The cubs won the series
>Entire Sup Forums boards were birthed
>Prequel is still dead

>>New Prequel promised before the last one was a year old
Incorrect, Kazerad was very public about missing the anniversary in the weeks leading up to it, both here, on his streams, and on his website.

TIm Urban once did a TED talk on procrastination. It was set up 6 months in advance and he made his speech a week before he had to give it.

no matter what kaz comes up with in the next update, it's not gonna be worth waiting a year for...

>people will end up forgetting it exists and thus said comic lose reader.

yet this shit has not updated for over a year and you faggots keep making updateless threads on a daily basis.

...

I want Katia to rub her modest chest against my dick as I look into her giant despairing eyes

FilthyP?

There's like one, maybe two Prequel threads a week, lay off. You're essentially bullying a depression/abandonment support group, at this point.

Next update in 2017 guys

Kaz, at least give a status report

>depression/abandonment support group

nigga what?

i can't

i just

no

I mean that there are people in this thread who ACTUALLY believe Prequel will be updated

Why would you want to destroy that naive and innocent hope?

Well I can tell you this: I'm never working with this many artists again. Right now I'm mostly waiting on a few resources that are too critical to skip. I have some misc tasks to do, though; I'll probably get on them tomorrow. And then, like, prep more resources for after the update.

>You're essentially bullying a depression/abandonment support group, at this point.
being a prequel and hunter x hunter fan is suffering

it's their own fault for waifuing a generic yellow cat.

>being prequel and hxh fan is suffering
Even worse when your waifu is dead
I'm stuck in this odd position where I want it to update but I don't even care any more at the same time.

Is there like

Is there a timeline?

Can we expect the update in 2016?

Would it help if I begged?

Nigga have you SEEN the comments section of the page that was last posted?

There is an entire community that has sprung up. They've been squatting there for MONTHS, all consoling each other about the lack of updates and discussing TES lore, amongst other things. There are 14,000 comments on that page.

It's absolutely bizarre, entirely tragic and pathetic, and a tiny bit touching.

He knows that, he has said so in past threads.

That's on you for actually expecting anything from the hack you dumb shit

Hey Kaz, I saw you mentioned Sup Forums quests and the like recently, have you actually read any of them, or are following some?
Rubyquest's probably the most famous (which is probably part of why they're called quests nowadays) though I assume you're aware of that at least.

>anniversary was a digital-version of an Asotil side-story parodying the hiatus and fans
>he said in his stream there would be an update by the end of the week

oh god, kaz doesn't want to update because he'd be killing off an ecosystem that, like mold in a basement, has sprung to life in his merch induced absence

it all makes sense now

To be fair, that graph doesn't count for content. As time went on, the updates got larger and larger - and im not even talking about the massive flash ones, I mean the basic story ones

Kaz at this point I think you just need to put your foot down, do the work that you're waiting on other people for, and just drop contact with them. You seem to surround yourself with undependable head cases as help.

/trash/ thread here if anyone wants porn

>he said in his stream there would be an update by the end of the week

No I didn't! :< the best I can do is say that I am trying the best I can to get everything assembled.

Not now, though, because I need to sleep.

I do not follow any right now. Not out of any animosity toward them, I just haven't tried getting into any new ones.

Kaz just work on the parts of the update yourself that you tasked to the other fuckers, it doesn't matter what pathetic excuse they give you, SOMEONE has to get the work done.

Really though Kaz, is there some reason you can't just do ?
I don't know what this update is like, but you were perfectly fine as the sole visual artist for Prequel back in the day. Is it like music or something that's just not something you're good at? Hell, I'd wager there'd be at least one user in these threads who'd have the skills to make one of the things you're waiting on, at least.

Should I request this with katia or quill weave?

quill has no connection to pineapples

We should have done a clock, like what /dfg/ did

...

I don't even care for all that games and flash stuff.
Gifs and text like in the beginning was everything this comic needed to be great.

>There's like one, maybe two Prequel threads a week
That's too much
More like one thread every one to three weeks, (counting contiguous threads as one). And the ones a week after the last are usually told to die by other posters, and rightfully purged by mods.

We should stabilize to either one every two weeks or every 4 weeks, desu

BARBED

Hi Kaz! I started reading the comic last year and loving it. I've been searching and lurking but have no idea where it is that people submit commands that get used in the comic. I mean, I know there's a submit command button on the site but it's not like I can see the comic being made and submit something relevant. Ow does it work? How do I participate?

You only submit based on what is already published+reasoning. That's it.

You can't see it mid-update or anything. Just go by what was in the previous update

I thought that too, but that doesn't make sense. Looking at the comics, people are responding to events they could only know about if the are seeing them unfold at the time. I was excited when I saw Kazerad responding cause I thought I could have an answer from the creator...

I've submitted a dozen commands into the void, really excited for the update to see if any of them get in and find out

It's a little like the lottery. Unless you're really creative there's so many submissions that it would be hard to get one in there.

Fuck you, I want to see Kaz in it.

>kaz actually sold the rights to prequel
>nippon studio making a japanese cartoon
>the adventures of kawaii neko and gay lizard

99% of the comments are ones Kaz makes up to tell his story

actual used user comments are just used to determine the sequence in which events take place, as well as minor details

Must be from the forums time then.
Prequel started on the now defunct MSPA forums, and was migrated to the site afterwards. I don't know much more about that time though.

For newer "anomalies", well, Kaz makes a pretty damn good work at seamlessly fitting suggestions, old and new, related or not, into the story. But I guess he should elaborate on that.
Have you read Homestuck? Hussie had the same "issue" but "worse", in that he had so many suggestions he could literally steer the story ANYWHERE by picking them out, until he just said "fuck it" and took over.

And then there's the false suggestions at the sidecomics, those are all written by Kaz.

youtube.com/watch?v=dEtm_Q2LK9g

So wait, this has been confirmed? Why wasn't it moved to other forums? Tha KS for the answers guys. I haven't been on Sup Forums in years, glad to see dudes are still Sup Forumsurteous.
Isn't homestuck a cartoon or something like adventure time?

Is the book of glint dead?

yeah, kaz has talked about it a bunch

it's honestly a nice format, there's no need for a bunch of needless shitty random commands when you're trying to tell a story

>Isn't homestuck a cartoon or something like adventure time?
mspaintadventures.com/
There's 4 stories, I believe Jail Break started on some other forum too. Read that first.
Then give Homestuck and Problem Sleuth a try. I'll warn you though: Homestuck will peak on "Cascade", and turn worse after that.

Anyway, moving to a site is just the natural progression for quests as they grow; there's too many readers for the thread to be readable, and the story itself reads way nicer when there's not a bunch of posts inbetween

guys, prequels just updates. Go to the site, it finally happened

Fuck off.

She gave Katia a pineapple out of curiosity to see what the fuck she could possibly use it for in a side story.

UPDATE

WHEN

They've even got their own nickname for this little cluster of sadness

Purrgatory

Have you guys read this comic before, it feels kinda the same as prequel

Pic related is new interactive comic

delirium-eng.tumblr.com/

>Tumblr format

Ew

Very subtle shilling there.

Actually, I found it on a lulz forum . I know, you might call me a shill but itll be a great read until prequel updates

>subtle

not at all

If I saw this at any other time I might check it out but now I'm not just out of principle. Go make your own general

Requesting Todd Howard hugging Katia and whispering in her ear:
"Alcohol limitations."

...

It's a cute style, there's a reason it gets replicated

Though looking at the art from the first few pages of prequel compared to the close-frames from the last few pages, you can see a world of difference.

makes things pretty easy for comic authors I guess

scratch that, I hadn't visited the link yet and thought it had the basic next/previous buttons and all that
instead it's infinite scroll and read bottom->up
holy shit who thought this was a good idea?

is it really? I had to go look for myself and holy shit it is, how fucking braindead can you be?

That's like having to select your phone number on a number slider

Anyone have any good quest suggestions? I read rubyquest and nanquest and a few others, but I'm not sure which of the many are worth checking out. I've mostly been looking on tgchan, does Sup Forums have any long running ones or quality ones?

Yeah it's dumb as fuck.

I mean, it's not hard to just make your own mid-quality website or pay a bloke £30 to do it for you over a couple of hours

That's kind of a loaded question. Drawquests took a nosedive in popularity on /tg/ when tgchan became a thing, so the vast majority of quests are text-only with the occasional piece of fanart or fitting external artwork. There are still a few drawquests that kicked around, but they're in the minority compared to the massive hundred-plus-thread novellas.

Also depends on what genre you like. I can give you a few recommendations if you give me some inputs.

I see. Well, it's probably better for drawquests to be hosted on a board that accomodates their slower and varying update times.

I really liked rubyquest and nanquest, and there was an old one called Will of The Undermind that was pretty cool. I think it died though. High fantasy, which seems to be a common genre isn't super appealing to me. Character driven stories are the most interesting. I wouldn't mind pictureless quests either. Thanks if you can think of any suggestions!

>does Sup Forums have any long running ones
If the various series on /tg/ got continued on /quest/ after the chemo then yes.
>quality ones
No clue. I couldn't be arsed trying to spot anything interesting in the torrent of anime writefag garbage for very long.

The current story is. Again.

Evo said it would continue with another character in the same universe or something (Cayla's still in it though), but hasn't done anything I know of yet.

>"Update when?"
>"Oh Im JUST waiting on a few very few assets for the comic and after that the update will come don't worry about it!"
>3 months later
>"Update when?"
>"Oh Im JUST waiting on a few very few assets for the comic and after that the update will come don't worry about it!"

Come one guys, its time to move on, just think about what will happen after the update comes if it actually does... Another year-long hiatus?

Hmm. The divide between character driven and plot driven works is kind of hazy in quests purely because of the medium, but here's what I've got.

Maybe Joker Quest. It's got a psychological bent to it and the writer gives the audience a massive amount of rope which they use to hang themselves, repeatedly, in pretty much every way you can imagine. Undiluted suffering from start to finish, with just enough hope that you don't see the next shoe dropping. It's also got cool robot fighting with what seems to be a fairly detailed system (that is hidden in a black box and never revealed) going on in the background. Attempts to emulate the style of Accel World.

For something far more lighthearted, look at Oversized Weapon Quest. It's about a Goblin who is incorrectly issued a sword too big for her to carry and follows the adventures she has during her time as part of the army that invades the surface world. Text-only, but has large amounts of fanart, both commissioned and otherwise. It's pretty high fantasy, but it's pretty firmly tongue-in-cheek about it the entire way.

Ryukuza Quest is written by weebs, for weebs, but it's very character driven, and you'll probably learn quite a lot about the nuances of asian mythology while you're at it. Concerns a rag-tag group of incandescently gay dragongirls kicking ass and taking names in modern Japan as various gods and spirits emerge from the woodwork to try and screw them over or kill them. /u/ as fuck, so if you aren't into that or apathetic to it, stay well clear.

As always, your mileage may vary.

I agree but also that dream update with the stairs was fucking radical so

Thanks captain!

Joker quest sounds like right up my alley, and Oversized Weapon Quest also sounds cool. It actually sounds exactly like the kind of concept that one would make into a drawquest, but I look forward to reading it.

I couldn't even name /u/ without looking at the index but I'll give Ryukuza Quest a fair whack regardless.

that actually crashed my browser when i tried to look at it
i can't tell if my browser was trying to prevent me from getting spoilers or if my computer just sucks

You may also like Hero Quest Rena, which is a comedic drawquest ran by Larro, who I believe did some stuff on tgchan at some point? Either way, it's basically My Hero Academia meets Scott Pilgrim meets One Punch Man, and doesn't take itself seriously at all. The Protagonist is Rena, who is an ordinary NEET who lives on tv dinners and is extremely boring. Unfortunately, the world has other plans.

Well I like all of those comparison points to varying degrees. It looks like a long enjoyable read.

Appreciate the suggestions

>Joker Quest

always thought that shit would make a good comic desu

Anybody got that image with Katia addressing the viewer about all the fanart being done about her, and how they don't draw her with clothes on?

...

I kinda like this one too.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Kaz is just as guilty. This one's not even censored.
