It's the brush inking and the character designs that they share, I reckon. It's A Good Life, If You Don't Weaken would be a completely different comic if it was done nowadays (if you haven't read it it's mainly about a cartoonist who becomes obsessed with an old New Yorker cartoonist and tries to find as much about him and his work as he possibly can--he seems closely based on Arno).
