>Its another Sup Forums hates a great film because it defied their expectations
How many of you faggots have actually seen the film, I can tell most of you haven't by the way you talk about it
>MUH I DON'T WANT JUMPSCARES WHERE IS LE SLOW BUILD UP AND TENSION
that shit is literally in the film you would know that if you weren't fucking blind, instead you spout your reddit tier opinions
This movie was GOAT horror

SMASHED

me on the right

kill hyuourself

>The horror elements were cringy
explain

SLAMMED. Oh, and that bulldog looks fucked up too.

you didn't watch the film did you

>it's another "you're stupid because you don't like a movie because of some dumpster fire girl i spam everyday" episode

kys yourself

>he thinks its one person posting her

did you forget to take your meds today user?

I was convinced she was going to be in ST2, but turns out it's another redhead. How did they overlook her? Her vs. Millie would have been fantastic shitposting material.

>Best acting for kids in a movie I've seen
>Most realistic kid dialogue I've ever heard
Only problem I'd give is that the movie felt a little short and I agree that the jump scares could have been minimized by cutting out some of the loud noises otherwise this is one of the most enjoyed films I've seen this year

It's a pretty good movie partially ruined by obnoxious jump-scares.

Somebody needs to make an audio-edit where they remove all the blaring horn noises, would make the movie infinitely better

>takes place in the 80s
>has the Stranger Things kid
>has a girl who looks like a boy

I'm not even interested in seeing it. It feels like it's just aping off a popular show I'm also not interested in.

You do realize Stranger Things copied It first? But of course you haven't read the book so you don't understand

fuck off OP

really puts the emphasis on your nambla faggotry tbqh

it was more of an "kid adventure" movie than a "horror" movie
Pennywise was too fantastical to be really scary and there wasn't any real build up or dread. Mostly just goonies-style adventure for teens.

Sure but I'm not interested in nostalgia. This same sort of thing happened in rock music. Every acclaimed new band just revives a sound from 20 years ago. The Strokes, The Arctic Monkeys. Give me something new.

great, another shill thread. I hope they're paying you enough to shove this shitty movie down our throats.

mmmkay

Looks like another couple of poorfags haven't seen the film and are basing their opinions off of other Sup Forums anons who also haven't seen it

?
i saw it friday night.

Goonies user is right thought, Pennywise was to goofy to be scary and it doesn't help that he can be overpowered by a bunch of 13 year olds.

If not for the jump scares this would be a straight up adventure movie

>and it doesn't help that he can be overpowered by a bunch of 13 year olds.
you obviously don't get the movie

what was that picture user

Of course it was a good movie. Sup Forumss Just so assblasted because it was supposed to flop according to them, they have to hate on it

giv bf (female)

This

>you obviously don't get the movie

Even if you would go by the logic that it's physical strength is based on how afraid somebody is it doesn't change the fact that your movie monster was beaten up by a bunch of children to the point where it has to whimper and flee.

That doesn't work for horror movie, it does work for an adventure movie

I actually liked the movie but its "scary" in the same sense that the "fratellis" were scary in Goonies.
The only good "scare" in the movie was the opening part where Pennywise bites the kids arm off.
the other stuff was interesting visually (Pennywise coming out of the photo) but not scary.
There is really no sense of dread over the entire film because the thrust is more of a coming of age adventure for kids.

>your movie monster was beaten up by a bunch of children to the point where it has to whimper and flee.
That is the exact same thing that happens in friday the 13th and also in the book that is what happens too when the kids bond together and they weaken It by not being scared because he works off fear

Sup Forums seems to hate everything that is popular or becomes mainstream. Literally a board full of pretentious hipsters.

>The only good "scare" in the movie was the opening part where Pennywise bites the kids arm off.
Wrong. The painting part was the scariest because it was very unsettling

>There is really no sense of dread over the entire film because the thrust is more of a coming of age adventure for kids.
The book is much better because you have flashbacks to the missing kids being chased by It such as one part where It transforms into a giant bug with tentacles and chops the kid's head off. In the book it is very disturbing and a shame we didn't get that scene

>because it was supposed to flop according to them
Someone have the screenshot of the user saying how bad it would flop because kids would sneak into the cinema and not buy tickets? I laughed reading that

>tfw you have always been ugly even as a kid
its a bad one

Being a director must be the most stressful thing ever especially if you are working with kids

>Make sure everything is set up before the kids arrive on the arranged schedule
>Make sure someone gets them food so they don't starve
>Make sure you know what you are going to say to them to get the best acting possible from them

>clown in corner looking spooky
>loud noise and clown spasams and runs towards camera
>kid just slowly runs away uninjured

Do people really find this scary? They did it like 6 times through the movie. Wasn't scary. Only creepy scene was the slide projector in the garage. 6/10

How would you direct the basement scene?

COPE

why can't you Sup Forums fags just accept you were wrong about this movie

Are you mentally challenged or something?

It's a fine movie but it isn't scary at all

youtu.be/UXGkW8AgKZY
Like this.

that's nothing, that tripfag said that it would have shitty box office because of high school football games

The tripfag is still calling it a flop by the way

>but it isn't scary at all
fucking bullshit, people literally jumped in my theatre and some big 6"5 guy I saw was talking about how scary it was on the way out, the only people I've seen who think it wasn't scary are reddit fags who think they are impressing people

idk how anyone cannot be scared at the Painting scene? I literally wanted to run away like Stan did

Because you know exactly what's going to happen end even how the monster will look

t.Sup ForumsIntellectual

Because it was too jarring and predictable, the monster looked neither like the painting or a real creature, just Somme bad CG.

>buy/pirate the DVD
>watch it on a TV/laptop with shit bass
Would that work? Is there anywhere the bass actually adds anything?

I saw the film. It had a lot of obnoxious cues for jump scares but it was altogether entertaining, funny and extremelly frustrating because the fat kid resurrects the chick with a kiss and she still makes out with another dude at the end, no joke.

>Is there anywhere the bass actually adds anything?

No it's just retarded blaring fog-horns

>just went through a bunch of montages of IT trying to scare the kids
>oh look there is this Munch-esque painting on the wall and the kid is clearly horrified by it
>oh look an extreme close-up zoom of the kids face as he turn around

I wonder what will happen next?

>it sells well
>therefor must be great

Fat kid was great.

Got his belly slashed open two times and never gave a fuck, figured out the the location and pattern of the monster and was always down for some monster-hunting (never bitched or whined)

youtube.com/watch?v=j4IFNKYmLa8

No, it's getting great reviews from both critics and the general audience. That's why it's good.

AHAHAHAHA

Something tells me the director was OK with his working situation.

Post the webm of him talking to her while she looks at him with lust.

critics have went full retard, nothing they say or do matters anymore

fucking like 90% for ghostbusters, all the full SJW titles,

get out getting rated higher than fucking shawshank??

yeah who cares what they do, they are full retard now, literally retarded and opinions disregarded

I never saved it. Sorry user

No Hollywood girl is pure.
Remember that.

Which is why I said "and audience". When critics and the audience are coming to the same conclusion, then it must be good. Unlike your example where the audience panned Ghostbusters.

She totally has a crush on him

Stranger Things: The Motion Picture

Take it as you will

>Trying to reason with a contrarian
Just let it go user

Fat kid is the one that ends up with Beverly in the book (except by then he has grown up to be a chad).

Well, yes, I kind of agree. Setting this in the 80's instead of the 60's was obviously a choice made based upon the success of ST.

Storywise though it's not taken from ST given that it's based upon a book from 1986.

First film in awhile that had me feeling uncomfortable. Yeah the jump scares were the bread and butter but there was some seriously subtle shit in some of the scenes that fucked with me.

>library scene after the kid starts reading the book
>first shot shows the librarian in the background fiddling with some books on the shelf
>the music starts ramping up as the kid thumbs through the book and we get the visual exposition of Derry's fucked up past
>second shot is completely normal except the librarian in the bg has turned towards the kid and is staring at him with this huge smile and darkened eyes, out of focus so you can barely make this out
>the book starts showing him a scene of a tree with his decapitated head
>third shot the librarian is much closer and still staring him down

It's not really pointed out and no one in my group noticed it but me (I attribute that to watching It Follows a few days ago)

Why can't we have more posts like this and less
>Posting the dancing gif and saying 'HAHAHAH'

>Setting this in the 80's instead of the 60's was obviously a choice made based upon the success of ST.
It's a choice they made so that the adult section of the story would take place in 2018.

If everyone would stop giving retards (You)'s you would see the quality of posts slowly start to improve.

THIS MFING TOADLINE #CRIMEBOSS IS SMASHED AND SLAMMED. $5K READY TO GO THIS OG RIGHT HERE IS ONE HARD ASS DOG. WHAT? HE CAN'T BREATHE? WELL NEITHER CAN I FOR THAT LOW PRICE

Meanwhile "The Orville" is hailed as a masterpiece of comedy and science fiction
Whole board is full of try-hards

Uh no it's really not? People have been saying it's just ok and it's comfy, that's it.

Shills in all the Orville threads say outlandish shit like it's the best trek since the original series. At least I hope they're shills. I don't think that level of contrarianism is possible.

If that's true then you're cherry picking at best, I've been browsing tv all day and the overwhelming majority opinion is either

1. It's shit or
2. It's pleasantly surprised and not as bad as they thought it was gonna be

>It's a choice they made so that the adult section of the story would take place in 2018.

Why would that be important ? Present day setting makes difference unless they are going to shoehorn Trump in the movie somehow.

see If you have been browsing then I'm sure you've noticed the same shitty arguments shills use to deflect any criticism of the shit heap. They literally can't stop talking about trek Discovery, to a degree that makes me question their motives.

>Present day setting makes difference unless they are going to shoehorn Trump in the movie somehow.
Are you 12?

I think you need to take a break from the internet and go outside or something. Not everything is a shill

Why dkes reddit feel the need to force it's opinion on everyone else?

Most adults aren't afaid of moving images user.

>(You)'s
Get rid of them and most of the redditfags would leave.

Why are 90s born queers so obsessed with trump?
