IT will be the most culturally impactful horror film of the past 20 years. When your kids think of horror, when they think of halloween, they'll think of IT. They'll watch IT in the middle of the night without your permission, they'll talk about IT at school. Bill Skarsgard will be remembered and praised for this role until he grows old and dies.

History has been made. Say hello to the new face of horror.

The day people stop being payed to shill this shitheap people will forget it entirely, just like every other recent horror remake except Maniac.

>implying

Jokes on you I don't even think I ever knew what maniac was.

Literally what the fuck is Maniac???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

A remake hyped by idiots.

user films stopped being "culturally impactful" in the 90s already, kids today watch a film and forget about it the next day.
It will be one year of dressing up as Pennywise and that's it.

Ahem..

Doubt it user. This isn't even an indictment against the movie, just that the average consumer is a fuckin mong. Aside from spooky clowns going "BOO and a few kids dressed up as Pennywise, it's gonna be forgotten in a couple years

Considering IT has made more on its opening weekend than a movie with spiderman and iron man, I'd say you're wrong again

>impactful
that's not a word, so your entire post is shit

Avatar made almost 3 billion dollars and most people forgot about it the next month.

>movies that made money cannot be forgotten

Ahem.. *Avatar*

ENOUGH FROM THE CLOWN

How is this a bad thing? I'd rather watch multiple of these shiny turds than say conjuring #32. I'm fine with it.

Also 70s/80s horror don't even hold up anymore, they're comedies now.

>your kids

>DUDE Avatar lmao
Not an argument

are those the deadlights behind him?

I don't think anyone really cares about Pennywise, people are hungry for a Spielberg style fantasy/horror type film and sick to death of superheroes. I wouldn't mind seeing more King remakes. Cujo and Christine would be cool.

If Avatar making almost 3 billion dollars isn't an argument, how is this user making an argument then?

People will forget this flick in two years, just in time for sequel

Because it's a movie that just opened up in theaters

But Avatar also made a fuckload of money on opening weekend, what's your point?

Avatar is the one exception because they hyped up the "FULL ON EPIC 3D SO REAL UR EYES WILL BLEED", so everyone went to see it, no one was actually impressed by anything other than the visuals.

Every other movie that made money comparable to Avatar is deeply ingrained in pop-culture. So stop using this faulty argument to disparage things you don't like because they are popular.

No, deadlights are in his head.

>the deadlights
>behind him
Nigga he is the deadlights.

So you're saying they hyped up the movie as a visual masterpiece and people were only impressed by the visuals? SHOCKER.

I think its supposed to be a scene of It crashing to Earth.

>being afraid of a clown
Lmao

It's not a clown.

Looks like a clown to me

Maniac was shit Elijah. POV gimmick shouldn't be used for anything but video games and porn.

>horror movie
>it's actually a "kids adventure" movie
Try again buddy

I don't see your point. It was hyped for the visuals, people saw it, the visuals delivered.

My point was that it was never anything more than the visuals. Just a generic story, characters, and premise. That is why it isn't remembered and why it is the exception.

It could have and should have been. Instead we got a fun yet generic movie that felt like a Stranger Things spinoff. It wasn't terrible but it feels of missed opportunity and a lack of imagination.

youtu.be/houP7mAjZ0o

It's not a remake. It's a new adaption, asshole.

Currywise best clown

Nobody will remember "Stranger Things™ with Epic Clown Jumpscares" in six months. The movie was utterly forgettable.

Wow this is terrible

>ywn have Finn's pale soft thighs rest on your shoulders

Why live!

The old one is still remembered and it's worse in every way

With the way his hands are, surely there's CIA edits already, right?

Only because of tim curry no doubt
I mean I didn't even rememberd seth green was on it until I rewatched it last week

Considering the lack of good mainstream horror in the past decade. You could be right.

It Follows, VVitch, Babadook etc. are good and all, but they just aren't accessible to most people. You have to put the pieces together yourself which most people don't want to do.

See this kids? Just after a few drinks your reading comprehension goes straight to shit.

I loved Avatar and I haven't forgotten it, I don't understand the flack that it gets here on Sup Forums.
>inb4 pocahontas in space
yeah I know

It was a nice movie

Sometimes I think you guys are just cunts who can't sit back and enjoy anything if it gets too popular

Don't be mean

Kids won't even see the new IT because it's rated R.

Kids saw the 80's version because it aired on network TV.

>impactful
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WHY CAN'T PEOPLE SAY PERTINENT OR IMPORTANT OR REVOLUTIONARY OR THAT IT WILL HAVE A LASTING LEGACY AND IMPACT.

The only impact it had on me is that now I have a scary clown fetish.

IT is good mainstream horror. Too many things hold it back from greatness, though. The Witch will be the classic.

>t. Reddit attemps copypasta

>[LOUD NOISE]

>first blair witch was amazing by horror standards
how's the remake lads

t. sperg

I saw fucking children in the theater when I saw the movie this past weekend. Never underestimate the stupidity of some parents

you spooked me user don't do that

>I'd rather watch endless remakes than watch original horror films

>TFW the best scares modern horror has to offer is scary men moving in fast forward.

God is alive and he's a massive pussy.

Director thought the deadlights were stupid so he axed them.

Pure Horror is dead anyway.
I honestly don´t understand what people are expecting from a good horror movie that can´t be also found in other genres.

I don't really expect to be scared by horror movies anymore. I mean can you remember the last time you were genuinely scared by anything in a movie? For me it was fucking Chuckie when I was a kid.

>Pure horror is dead.
It was never alive DESU

It's
Undead

>no audio

My dad showed me the black and white blob when I was 3. Now that was pure fear.

LaughingSkeleton.gif

*Why live?

OG Blob was in color though.

But yeah that movie scared the bejeezus out of me when I saw it at 6.

This got me pretty good.

thanks for ruining my childhood memories.

I never realised how shitty the original was.

>fa/tv/irgins having kids
Lmao, not in this life buddy.

that chick was so creepy and cute at the same time.

I'm such a pussy when it comes to horror movies. Any sort of jump scare just fucks me up. Can't even watch the shit.

This isn't a safespace, queer fellow.

memes?

>Director thought the deadlights were stupid so he axed them
You literally see them float out of his mouth...

Man that kid in the glasses shoulda just taken the blowjob like a champ.

>scene introduces him as Pennywise the Dancing Clown
>surprised his little carnival scene has him dancing
WOOOOOW

Don't be mean

>The OG blob was in color
>No it wasn't.
>It was
>Fuq
>Check Arthur.
>Arthur was in color since the start too

Just confirmed my long time suspicions that I had a BW TV growing up.

>I don't really expect to be scared by horror movies anymore. I mean can you remember the last time you were genuinely scared by anything in a movie? For me it was fucking Chuckie when I was a kid.
The Ring was pretty scary but they spent too long dwelling on the 'horrific' parts. I remember the horse eye shot being particularly creepy. In fact that whole part of the movie was creepy

I like atmosphere.

>Uhhh, you don't get to bring floats

He couldn't get his dick hard. Hence why she stopped and then started crying.

Could YOU get hard for this?

you mean the american remake? it was shit

...

>you mean the american remake? it was shit
:(

I tried watching the Japanese versions and they seemed really corny and boring.

Clown looked stupid, not scary and sounded like a goofy faggot

Meanwhile, NC is still suffering from seasonal rot.

>Could YOU get hard for this?

Oh, I thought she stopped cause he was crying. Guess you got a point.

toppest of keks
>When your kids think of horror, when they think of halloween, they'll think of IT
guarantee it'll still be nightmare/halloween/friday 13th/evil dead. now that i think of it there have been a ton of horror movies in the last few years that'll be known for decades, human centipede probably has the most meme power. Rec and god forbid Saw will also live on

>Could YOU get hard for this?
>extra vagina
I don't look a gifted horse in the mouth anymore, user.

Oh my god, user.

I refuse to believe this screenshot is real
I also refuse to see the film so CHECKMATE atheists

I'm assuming you prefer Tim Curry's much more serious sounding DAHA DAHA DAHA

In context its some creepy shit because the giant screen of a theatre makes it feel like youre moving towards him just after a few minutes of buildup. Out of context its hillarious. Also, his eyes unfocusing means hes dropping the clown suit and is about to do some elditch shit

american ring > japan ring
contrarian faggots suck the original's dick so they can seem more cultured
>oh by the way, I'm actually a psychic
>I've never mentioned this before but the movie only has 30 minutes left and I'll use my powers to advance the deadend in the plot
laughably awful but
japan Grudge >>>>> amerifat grudge

>japan Grudge >>>>> amerifat grudge
Mind explaining why? I only watched the first 30 mins or so before I turned it off. I guess I'm a pleb, but I just couldn't get into it.
>slowly pan over to normal looking boy just sitting there
>nothing particularly scary about it
>people just go about their business
>everything is fine
>does some white screen effect

It felt really dated, like something from the 20's that had been colorized or something
