is IT really that loud? I mean I know Jay liked Last Shift a lot and that movie has plenty of loud noises

good post

Poor babies ears were hurt by loud noises

Jay shouldn't celebrate Halloween,
It's offensive to Muslims who don't like Halloween.

the sound is only part of the problem. horror movies also depend on visuals. when will we finally get a true horror film without sound and visuals?

like, we could just print the script on paper and bind it together.

Does this mean there could potentially be a Slasher cinematic universe?

There hasn't ever been a good horror movie. The genre is total shit.

A good soundtrack is a huge part of horror though. Same for the sound effects. That's one of the reasons why 80s horror was so kino, you had alot of good OSTs

Isn't he the guy that said Twin Peaks: The Return restored his faith in 'cinema'?
Who cares what he thinks?

The movie needed to be fun honestly, who the fuck wants to watch a slow "subtle" movie about a killer clown who wants to eat children

Mike and jay need to either get Evan to get a sex change or replace him with a transvestite on the crew.
Redlettermedia is alright but it needs diversity to get more fans.
It's just a bunch of white guys and that's not okay.
Rebeltaxi got a tranny on his show and the views have increased

I should also mention that channel awesome has linkara who is also a tranny

Disney good
not Disney bad

What a stupid fucking post. Delete it.

Jay's criticism is that the movie is over reliant on sudden loud noises to startle the audience and "being startled" and "being scared" are two different things. The horror genre is turning into the "jump" genre. If you haven't noticed, then you're a pretentious brainlet.

Some reddit shills nitpicking a not Disney movie, nothing new

>all that marvel rotten tomatoes pre approved trash

Hardly loud, the sound built up too, not as if it suddenly hits you.

Yea, none of the scares really came out of nowhere, and the sounds weren't harsh or annoying. I guess if the argument that that style of horror filmmaking is played out, ok maybe, but saying its too loud is stupid. I thought the sound design in this was actually well done

>these movies are complete shit but who cares, they are FUN
>IT was fun as fuck but I don't know, some scenes were a little loud
Fucking disney shills I swear

A lot of you are missing the point. Jay isn't saying that IT and movies like it are too loud, it's that they're using sound as a blunt instrument.

Look at that scene in IT with the leper. All you hear is snorting and slobbering and wet slapping noises. Just constantly filling your ears without any sort of respect to where the monster is on the screen. Is it far or is it near? It doesn't matter, just constant "evil monster noises".

It's boring and unimaginative

People moaned that Interstellar's soundtrack was too loud too.
I didn't mind it.
What this guy said pretty much.

No one is saying the IT sound design was too loud, moron

I'm using it as a comparison you pleb, people will moan about anything.

>I didn't like this movie, it ugly art design
>Waaah, were the lights too bright, baby

Yeah, great comparison. Really brings a good point to the table

>One of the only near-unanimously enjoyed reviewers by Sup Forums is reddit.
>Criticizing JUMP SCARE SOUNDS is bad

Next i'll hear that Armond White is reddit. I find it annoying when I can tell that a movie is going to make my jump with a loud ass sound over nothing.

When I'm watching a bad horror movie i literally just plug my ears and miss 99% of the scares because they're so awful and hackneyed that they use sound as a crutch.

If you want a proper a discussion I suggest you fuck off back to >reddit

...

DUDE LOUD SCARY NOISES LMAO

>-nearunanimously enjoyed
Are you this detached from reality?
Plenty of people are tired of these glorified nostalgia critics, and how their cancerous fanbase worships them.

Jay liked The Neon Demon though

Literally everyone I know loved this flick. Only Sup Forums contrarians and disney shills like RLM dislike this flick

>though
Why do you say this like it is an corallary to what Jay said?
