Revolutianon with your regularly scheduled storytime, as neither of this weeks issues are actually part of Revolution (both are post Revolution) I'm going to storytime them in separate threads.

man I am really not enjoying this book, art is stellar, but overall the tone is incredibly unpleasant, which is honestly something that plagues pretty much every book in the Hasbro-verse currently except Micronauts

Till All Are One #5 Storytime:

So this is the post-Revolution arc, huh? What were the consequences?

>Neutralizer bow
Nice.

Everyone duffed each other up, GI Joe reformed, MASK formed, Action Man joined a team with a couple of Transformers and Mayday, the Micronauts were captured by humans, and apparently the leader of the Wraiths was killed.

Please don't kill Camilla. I mean he probably won't but she's a cute character and I don't want her to die so soon. I'm happy the other space knights have arrived though, things just got a lot more interesting.

I was honestly expecting her to get vaporized out of nowhere to show shit getting real.

Ooh, I allways wanted to know more about space knights.

Same.
Glad she didn't though. The kid is sweet.
All that being said, you sure as hell know Rom's "buddies" are going to try and do just that.

They look cool!

This. Seems really unnecessarily edgey.

I like how everyone is just blowing off ROM's warnings.

To be fair the situation at hand can't really be taken light heartedly. The Micronauts can be of good cheer because they have eachother, they're literally the most functional family-like squad in this shared universe at the moment. Rom is a lone veteran who's been doing nothing but fighting a 200 year war against body snatching aliens and his only two friends on Earth so far have 1) Left him and 2) been infected and will die soon.
I agree that all the other books have this tone as well but again, all the other books feature dysfunctional teams (every Transformers book) or problems within the factions along with an exterior threat constantly pursuing them (M.A.S.K and G.I Joe).

cool

>Bob Layton

OH WOW!

dig the corner box

this dialogue sucks

well that's gross

well that's fucked

Well this is actually getting cool now.

Thanks, OP.

bumping for others.

Noo Action Man artist go draw Revolutionaries, only you can make Ian cute.

Well I guess ROM is now in bad standing with Cybertronians again, dang and it looked like Soundwave wanted to be friends with him.

But ROM is such a loner and a tortured soul of course he was going to wallow in angst all by himself.

Oh no Camilla, damn it.

I dunno, I think Ossio managed him well.
At least he looks like himself, unlike in Tradd Moore's take.

Not really feeling it.

ROM is a war vet in a 200 year war with PTSD who fights shape shifting monster who have turned everyone against him (even if he killed Wraith Colton some of the Joes are uneasy about him) and the ones who aren't are just dismissing him (Optimus and the others have basically said that his war with the Wraiths isn't as important as the other things that are happening not to mention I get the feeling Soundwave wants to go after him since he doesn't approve of what ROM is doing).

He has also lost everything he ever cared for and is about to lose a friend to Wraith infection and then has to deal with other Space Knights wanting to blow up Earth.

The tone wasn't going to be a happy one with this type of story.

I also don't get what is edgy about it, edgy would be Garth Ennis horse cock or senseless killing non stop without consequences that serves no purposes.

Honestly the word edgy has become just a meaningless buzzword.

Well GI Joe might have some happy moments judging from some of Sitterson's interviews especially since he said the Joes were all old friends and would have moments with them hanging out.

Also it's going to be an action and adventure comic more than military so I expect it being pure fun with the occasional emotional moment.

Can't wait for it though, I want to see the Joes sitting on a campfire after a mission kicking it back and relaxing with a cranky Skywarp (who secretly enjoys it tho).

The actual infestation process is a lot quicker than they'd previously indicated, once the Wraiths are unfettered that is. It's possible Beach was infected if one of the leadership caste otherwise escaped and took him over to hide while Rom was otherwise occupied with everyone in IDW being natural dicks towards each other.

No it isn't? D'rge already jumped bodies pretty instaneously.

Damn this comic is great. Easily my favorite new thing of 2016.

D'rge is an evolved sorcerer. He probably has special privileges.

But given that page of the Wraith body-jumping so quickly despite not being a sorceror, that's clearly not the case.

Good point. Maybe different castes have different possession speeds.

They didn't kill the little dog, did they?

That was the point. In previous threads people were arguing that Dire Wraith couldn't take over a body right after or during the confusion of the fight because we saw the infection was very slow. However it's clearly not the case, and anyway Camilla was already abnormal.

bump

In regards to wraith casts,
I'm hoping we see how wraiths manage their society soon.

Hopefully their leadership isn't all dead. Kind of stupid of them to put all their eggs in the Axiom basket. For some reason I figured, especially given this invasion is no doubt a global affair, that they'd have multiple groups performing different operations.

I became a fan of ROM

He`s not necesarrilly in bad terms with the cybertonians, but he don't trust them. I like this issue because reminds how destructive and careless were the Transformers with their war and why every human hates them.

I've been seeing so many people praising it and Rom, loving his characterization, but my reaction has rather been like your own. It's an extremely bleak story, granted about bleak things, but I have found absolutely nothing "adorable" about Rom. I don't see him as having charming naiveté either.

But I've been putting up with it regardless. It's only five issues in, I'll definitely keep giving it a chance unless it manages to completely throw me off
