It sucks too, because so much good shit that could've happened between "Hit the Diamond" and the Jasper arc that would've made great episodes that could've happened on missions. Peridot coming into her own as a Crystal Gem, her getting a star, Lapis addressing the mirror issue with Garnet/Amethyst/Pearl, her recovering from her trauma and maybe even fusing again at some point .
But no, we got townie episodes with a slightly interjected "dream arc", and one episode with each former Homeworld Gem, followed by the mess that was the Jasper arc.
Honestly, we should do "/sug/ Re-writes Season 3" or something.

Man, picking a favourite gem is actually pretty tough. I'd have to say Garnet, although I have a soft spot for Peridot.
Favourite fusion would be Stevonnie. Although this could change since we haven't seen most of the possible combinations, and most of the ones we have seen (Garnet aside obviously) haven't had that much character development.
My top 5 episodes are Jail Break, Coach Steven, It could've been great, The Message, and Sworn to the sword. I'm a sucker for the musical numbers.
I'm not too sure about the last question, since I haven't really had time to think about things properly and re-watch anything. I'm not unhappy with it though. It's been fairly light for the last few episodes so it will be interesting to see if/when it gets dark again.
