CN had their own potential Spongebob on their hands

>CN had their own potential Spongebob on their hands
>They let it get so bad that the ratings dropped to 1 mil and are now ending it
>Have no replacement

Does this network want to fail?

>implying those at the top who make all the money care if it goes under
>implying they won't get a huge severance of billions when it does

>Have no replacement
TTGO! is the replacement

Is this show worth continuing? I never saw an episode in my entire life until 2 days ago. I decided to watch the first 2 episodes. The show is so fucking weird and unappealing that I'm debating dropping it after only 2 episodes. Is it worth trying to push through it, does it get better?

Seasons 1 and 2 are the best

Cracks started to show in 3

What's the appeal exactly? I saw 2 episodes and don't get it yet. I don't mind that there's no story and the world makes no sense, what really annoys me so far is that it's not funny. I didn't find a single joke funny yet.

if you don't think it's funny now you probably won't like it ever

It starts out as a quirky, madcap comedy, then delves so far into its own lore that the humor is left on the sidelines. Whether or not you'll want to stick around for that depends. I personally found a lot of the later episodes interesting, but this is the general consensus on Sup Forums right now wistful for the old days where you could watch a stand alone episode and chuckle at its lolrandom style without the characters facing an existential crisis.

I wonder what Sup Forums will think of the overall show in the future. Not immediately after it ends. It'll no doubt face the same post-finale backlash as Gravity Falls, where people claim it was never even a decent show to begin with. I mean years down the line in the middle of another dark age of tv animation.

Push through it. That's just how a lot of modern cartoons are for some reason. They start off really off-putting and dumb then get gradually more complex and intelligent. Steven Universe, Star vs, etc.

>later seasons are better

What do you like about those shows late seasons exactly? Excess shipping? Senseless drama? Complete removal of "fun?"

Disgusting.

I rememebr 1-4 were good, and then it sucked har after that.

>tfw superBarneyprohardonbubblineATfag and the cronies will descend upon this thread complaining that someone disagrees with their opinions

We have MagicSwords now, That's pretty much the same.

>then get gradually more complex and intelligent

Can anyone explain to me why CN sucks so badly at putting out their shows on a reasonable schedule? Has it always been this way?

The newest reason is Teen titans Go!

Don't they have an entire fucking channel? There's more than one time slot in a day

We traded Johnny Test for TTG. I remember Johnny Test being on for a lot of the day too. Another reason may be that TTGO sells more merchandise than we actually think and are outperforming SU and Gumball stuff.

>potential Spongebob
Wouldn't that require Adventure Time to be an episodic show?

Nope, don't let these cucks meme into believing it's worth it.

Reminder that TTG had a 2 days special.

>CN had their own potential Spongebob on their hands
Come on, I know it's the new contrarian thing act as if overhyped shows are awful, but don't pretend it took the same dramatic of decline in quality that Spongebob did. Besides, both shows have gone on for nearly the same amount of seasons.

Unlike Spongebob, Adventure time was never good.

Maybe watch a handful of more episodes. If it none of the jokes work for you at all, just forget it. There's a quite a few outliers but it may not be worth it for you to investigate which episodes those are if the core humor just falls flat.

Sup Forums shits on everything eventually so it's sort of a pointless thing to wonder about.

Hol up now, fag don't try to say AT was never good. I agree with the show may have fallen from the limelight, but it never got anywhere NEAR Season 6 Spongebob bad. Only the worst of the worst like Frost and Fire, Red Throne and Breezy got that low.

Adventure Time belongs in the Trash can.

>Hol up now, fag

Bubbline does, not AT as a whole.

Yeah, faggot. I said AT was and still is good (to a certain extent)

Problem faggot?

>not AT as a whole.
Don't lie to yourself, user.

Naw man. This show catered to tweens and older. They were hiring experimental/existential writers. It is stilling going to define childhood cartoons for at least 2 generations.
CN execs do this with every show for the last 15 years.

Adventure Time ratings are doing like shit and the show is getting cancelled, No one cares about what you think, user.

The show tried to be "2deep4U" and "LOLsoRadum" at the same time and it ended being nothing.

>Adventure Time ratings are doing like shit
Its not even playing o the network regularly anymore and the only reason why the ratings for the season finale was shit is because they didn't even advertise it.
>getting cancelled
Its ending...in two fucking years.

CN's ratings are down all across the board its not just AT nor does it have to do with quality.

Anons who dislike or have lost interest in AT, do you 8honestly* think Finn is a not good/strong character (anymore or never has been) and a cuck?

Don't lie to yourself, user.

Adventure Time was a mistake and I hope Pendleton Ward burns in hell.

Don't lie to yourself, user.

i have no opinion and don't watch the show, but i'll be damned if i'm going to pass up an opportunity to type the word 'cuck', so yes, finn is a cuck

The last episode I watched was Daddy-Daughter Card Wars, checked the Wiki and I've missed only two episodes (Preboot and Reboot).

That can't be right, right?

Preboot and Reboot is Season 7's finale.

So, yes. It is correct.

Fuck hiatuses.

Then what's next in Adventure Time?

Q1 2017. Likely January since the Islands DVD is listed to come out in the same month.

Regular Show is still suffering leagues beyond AT. I like both, and through the years I've noticed they sometimes jump ahead of one another on the subject of the network treating them like dirt, but for awhile AT because an icon (up until maybe half a year after TTG came out) on the network and RS slunk down to hardly nothing being mentioned. Eventually both lost reruns, lost advertisement, and the RS crew felt so bad about it they assumed they were getting canned any minute so they had to end it. AT gets 2 more seasons (+1 over RS) so it still has time to be noticed. Meanwhile RS is about to show its series finale and it's not being talked about at all and they won't give it a dignity shot with any kind of marathon, they won't even rerun the plot heavy episodes from this season for anyone not caught up.

3. Friday Saturday and Sunday. Then the following next Sunday. This is of course if you mean marathon wise.

My favorite part of the 2016 saga was when Regular Show aired 25 episodes in 3 weeks because it needed to get off the air asap for TTG.

the word is legitimately addicting to use cuck

>"we really fucking need something to air!"
>"how about regular show?"
>gets shot
>"how about the valentines special of madagascar?"
>gets promoted
>"isn't it decemeber though?"
>gets shot

>complex
Yes

>intelligent
Come on now

It has lesbian elements for all the hambeasts and waifu shitters to flock to.

He used to be a pretty good character.

-Stupid, but still had a heart of gold.
-Would fight all kinds of evil, and sometimes even win despite the odds.

Now the writers turned him into an angsty idiot who's always depressed or suffering through something.

Screencap this post, they will kill off Jake to make Finn feel even hopeless.

>complex and intelligent
>AT, Steven Universe, Star vs
I suppose this is what you start thinking when you only watch shitty cartoons your whole life

airing two episodes every 6 months probably didnt help

Don't compare Star Vs with the "duh lore" garbage people praise the everloving shit out of.

The early seasons, when it was an actual Adventure Show, were good.

However the later Seasons turned into shipper drama BS. Right around the time they made Marceline lesbian and had a whole arc with Bubblegum about it

I think it's the same problem Steven Universe is experiencing now.

The fandom/tumblir community latched onto certain aspects and the writers are aware of it and are pandering. However, it's backfiring in the long run because general audiences are tuning out.

It's always the third season when it starts, isn't it?

Last time I watched AT Finn was crying because an adult woman didn't want to be in an intimate relationship with a child.

>MUH FUN
Oh, so you are one of those people...

Lel

>However, it's backfiring in the long run because general audiences are tuning out.
Is that actually happening? I don't mind the show but the day it gets cancelled I'll be very happy and waiting for the salt from the tumblr shitbags who are whining for validation.

All shipping shit aside, she shoulda never built him up in the first place, especially near the end of Too Young. No ramifications about making him go through withdrawal and essentially, possibly creating all the relationship problems he's had ever since.

Even if they did kill off Jake he'd be bought back an episode or two later. ATs biggest fault was failing to deliver on its promises

When you had younger Finn presented with a crisis, he always managed to get through it by being idealistic, even romantic, and always determined to beat the bad guy, win the girl, and live happily ever after. Was he bothered by being the last human alive? Absolutely, but all of his friends encouraged him to not worry about the things he can't change, and instead focus on the good he's doing now. That lesson was carried over when he helped cure the greatest hero alive out of his depression, and that's what made Finn a strong character: He used his moments of crises and the lessons he learned from them to properly help others in the world around him.

What was unnecessary was him suddenly becoming completely angsty as he got older, because now you're removing the single character that represents hope and romanticism from the franchise. Dad is a total loser? Screw him, I've proven myself to be a good person, and I don't need his approval to know I'm a good person. Lost my arm? Don't care, at least now I get to replace it with something cool. Relationships aren't working out? Doesn't matter, because I'm still an important person in this world, and I still have people who love me.

The show had the potential to help young ones understand that even in magical worlds where anything can happen, some of that anything can be bad, and rather than letting the bad define us we can always focus on the positive, and become stronger over it. Instead it's encouraging people to make AMVs with Linkin Park like we're perpetually stuck in the 2000s and making kids think it's okay to be massive edgelords.

Simpsons had 9 good seasons
but usually yes

I like your response, user!

Do you think his relationship with PB and FP are fully mended, or did they try and slap some story together to make the illusion of "progress" (I do get the feeling with PB still.)

Also, do ya think Finn will ever branch off from Jake and do his own thing. Siblings often do so, but it seems like he won't get out of that bubble crafted for him? What i'm really saying is will Finn become independent.

How to people EVER reach this level of delusion.

Honestly, I'm sure RS is gonna be one of those shows that no one will remember 1-3 years after it's over

>Wanting Adventure Time to slog on for dozens of seasons.
I'm glad it's getting a merciful end at this point.

Sometimes I wonder what these networkseven do.
Remeber Korra when they either aried it without advertisement somewhen late or at the end only via stream. No shit ratings drop if you put it more and more out of a watchable time for kids.
>Hurr AT is doing bad at ratings
Well perhaps it would do better if you would show it more then once a month a new episode so the large group of todays short memory kids remember that this is a thing and want to watch it

I liked season 1-5, but it slowly goes more and more off the rails until season 6 when it just completely loses track of itself, season 7 has been nice though.

Finn won't become independent without the writers doing something "tragic" like, as someone else in the thread said, killing off Jake, or banishing him to some alternative dimension. The show lost any possibility of making a decent transition for Finn to accept that he won't be a kid forever by prematurely making him go full-"angery" as well as making hackneyed drama.

None of the writers properly understand how to generate a "coming-of-age". If they had half a brain around the middle of season three they would have realized that Finn's final quest should be a parallel to his first real quest, which was to get the Enchiridion, only this time making it a sort of Holy Grail / Dante's Inferno in the spiritual sense. Have Billy's spirit act like Virgil and guide Finn in his final year. Have Jake and Finn argue over being pragmatic and being idealistic. Have Finn, for the first time (if the writers hadn't fucked everything up) genuinely doubt himself while being all alone. Have everyone believe that the "magical item" Finn and Jake fight to get to save the world is a real thing, when the reality is that it's just a personal experience that puts to the test everything Finn has been taught to see what he really believes. There is no danger for the whole material world, but the danger is Finn's perspective of the world, and that is the journey that he's sent on for the final season.

However, this can no longer be done without being forced by the writers because of the unnecessary drama they've thrown into the franchise throughout the years. Anything Finn can experience now will seem like a terribly-written episode of Dawson's Creek, because the writers have turned Adventure Time into their own fanfiction wankfest like so many popular cartoons become. Don't expect anything to really be resolved in AT; it will be like every other cartoon, just another forced ending that will require you to view it with rose-tinted glasses and re-write it with your own headcanon.

Steven Universe surpassed its numbers a while ago
Show went to shit after Sugar left anyways

Newsflash update! Cartton Network's main demographic are children not manchildren who still live with their parents.

>just another forced ending that will require you to view it with rose-tinted glasses and re-write it with your own headcanon.
my headcanon's pretty fucking dead though. I thought, as he hit those later years in his life, he'd open an "Adventurer's Academy" of some sorts to train up and coming youth to defend and protect the citizens of Ooo once he passed on. yeah I know it's shit

Also, is it just me or when Finn started to become more angst-y, his fighting (and idealistic) characteristics seem to have gone down the tube? I can't for the life of me remember the last time he's curb stomped some bad guy in a battle.

A friend of mines said "The danger in that is that the show isn't meant to be some kind of autobiographical therapy wank, Finn should be his own character, not a box for them to put anecdotes in." and I think that rings true to this day.

Normally im all about artistic freedom. But CN shouldve had more control so the writers didnt make it into an artsy fuckfest. I dropped it around the time finn meet his father then nothing happend. I remember really being insulted when FP left and fucked a cinnabon, and the bigbad who was legitimately frightening for a kids show was turned into a fucking giant baby. If any show deserves a reboot with actual competant writers, its adventure time.

Justice League Action needs to replace all of their shows. Then have spinoffs based on the characters.

>FP left and fucked a cinnabon
She didn't fuck CB. As much as I despise that arc and the porn sprouted from it, don't make the diehard fans come out the woodwork that's false.

Yeah. Notice how shows parallel tumblr and start to get worse.

The fucking subtext says it all. If her firey cunt isnt filled with frosting then i will fuck myself with a replica of lucielle

What subtext?

Every cartoon on CN is suffering, they were doing okay awhile ago now every single one across the board is suffering aside from Teen Titans GO. Look at poor Uncle Grandpa.

I stopped keeping up after Mortal Recoil? or whatever. What was that, like 4 years ago?

Negans bat

Tell me this is a cover for an actual track please.

>dramatic of decline in quality that Spongebob did
Your memes don't work on me. New Spongebob is still good despite what people say.

Because little kids don't watch TV on a schedule and man babies don't understand cartoon Network is for little kids not adults

Sadly not, but heres this instead
Its suprisngly got a whole hell of alot better then it was. The past 3-4 years have been good for spongebob.

>SU is a potential replacement
>put it in hiatus hell
>air it in "bombs"
>keep the fans in the dark on when the next episode comes out
>spoiler the ever loving fuck out of it by showing key scenes in promos and online
Yes, they do want to fail. Either that, or the people running this shit are literally retarded.

>man babies don't understand cartoon Network is for little kids not adults
Then why does CN aim a large chunk of their shit for manchildren and edgy teens?

>watching/reading The Talking Dad
>still
You are either a normie sack of shit or a masochist.

What can i say, i love zombies

Bubblegum is evil and manipulative.

>Yes, they do want to fail. Either that, or the people running this shit are literally retarded
Hanlon's razor, user.

She's hot, though.

/thread

Well Have we ever considered all the facts? Cinnabon is living in the fire kingdom aka dick 24/7 for FP. Also has fin ever had bluestuff on to protect him so he could do it with FP? also woman love seeing a guy and saying "i could change him" plus she did! Last but not least cinnabon has sweet frosting as cum thats a huge plus.
