I just finished reading all of Better Days and surprisingly it was pretty decent.
I know it might get flack for exclusively using anthropomorphic characters, but in all honesty, they acted human enough for me to really ignore what they were.
I really liked how it showed all the characters maturing over the years and how they all developed.
So, what do you guys think?

Honestly, I kinda wished they touched on the incest a bit. So Rachel overhears Fisk and Lucy and she tells the roommates and Beth asks Fisk is he's fucking Lucy and he denies it. And thats... it? I really wanted to see more of it, to be honest.
I heard that whole subplot got dropped because it was to tie in with another webcomic, Badly Drawn Kitties, and the creator of that comic, Mat Sherer, and Naylor had a bitter falling out.
Lucy technically doesn't belong to Naylor. She's Mat's character.

...Honestly, the incest storyline just came out of nowhere. It didn't do anything but give Fisk's sister the character trait on wanting to bone her brother some more and just furthered the problem of Fisk Always Being Right. I can't even remember what happens to her after she grows up whereas Fisk has two successful military campaigns and then becomes Sam Fisher AND rescues his cousin from a life of porn and brothels.

Well, on the one hand, it stops being about Fisk and is more about his kids... but on the other hand, no. It's awkwardly written and the plots don't exactly go anywhere and there's a *really* dumbshit "cape comic" storyline in the middle of it; the author really thought he was being clever and perceptive with it.
There's nothing wrong with being fiscally conservative, believing in conservative approaches to politics, or erring towards a typically "conservative" stance on social issues.
Being socially conservative while also being a deviant (like a furry) is very silly, as it almost always boils down to hating/fearing other deviants while desiring protection from scrutiny. It's not the conservatism as much as the retardation and venom that comes packaged with it, just like how people ridicule the volatile SocJus crowd.
