Is anyone else really enjoying Champions? Personally I can barely contain my excitement when I crack open a new issue of Marvel's hottest new team. It's such a treat to have all my favorite new heroes in one book fighting for meaningful causes that I can relate to. To see Kamala grow into a leadership position instead of Cyke or Nova is such an incredibly important story, and seeing Viv exploring her sexuality reminded me of all the tough times we all go through in our youth. And come on, you know you all gasped when Viv and Cho kissed!
Who else here stands with the Champions? Because if we stand together, we can change the world!
Champions are awesome! I always liked Garurumon, but the giant cactus is cool too.
Dominic Jones
I'm enjoying it. Mostly because I don't spend my time on the shitpost threads that only exist to tell me not to like it. It's really hard to enjoy something when some asshole keeps pushing a false narrative memorymeme about how shitty everything about the comic is anytime you want to talk about what was actually published.
Camden Hall
Most the threads I've seen are pretty spot on criticisms of the book. I think you just have shit taste. It's yours to have, but its shit.
Landon Collins
SO much this. Those of us who are making our own decisions adore the book.
Xavier Smith
literally gave me cancer i demand reparations
Aiden Edwards
I dig the cast, but the third issue of the book felt really hamfisted to me, and I really don't like how Waid is writing Cho. Also, I can't stand Humberto Ramos' art.
Nathaniel Rogers
...
Brandon Ortiz
Bump
Brandon Cooper
I enjoy the sick bantz in the storytimes, does that count?
Grayson Gutierrez
I actually do like the book. Kamala, Miles and Teen Cyclops keep me coming back.
Lucas Lee
It's a good idea but it's dogged by having to play off of the aftermath of Death Of X (which was shit) and Civil War II (which still hasn't finished but is showing all the telltale signs of ending like a shart)
Joseph Allen
Third issue was what saved its place on my pull list, I fully expected to be dropping it but I've given it another month.
Jordan Turner
I didn't know steaming shit kept books on your pull list.
Oliver Carter
Is this a serious post copypasted from CBR? This sounds like something those creatures would say.
Mason Anderson
And what exactly are these "false narratives" the big bad anons on Sup Forums try to force again?
Chase Sanchez
It's cringey and unejoyable. A cheap attempt at making something "cool" and "hip" with the wrong writer. The idea itself may hold potential, however it's executed in the most stereotypical, corporately blandest way ever.
Marvel. Fix your shit. We know what's going on.
Zachary Cox
I honestly want to like it but it just seems really off putting. I liked Viv in Vision, I enjoy Ms.Marvel, I like the first couple arcs of Miles' in the Ultimate Universe, and just pages/panels Sup Forums post of Kamala,Miles and Sam make like their friendship. Champions Kamala's monologuing was a bit over the top, Viv getting triggered over ghosts was retarded, and it has done nothing to really grab my interest. The only redeemable thing about this book is Sam and he does barely anything.
Zachary Wood
It's really the best thing goning now.
Isaiah Martin
TI hope you are sarcastic, user
Jason Roberts
>Reboot Legion was good >Threeboot Legion was solid, but was kinda rough when directly playing to the youth crowd >Champions is cringe-inducing, very obviously an aging man trying to be hip with the kids So I assume in another decade Waid will write a truly nightmarish teen book.
Daniel Reed
This. Prime fucking material, easily could've been the teen book "for the ages" and Waid just wastes it.
Ryder Morgan
They are releasing new Digimon statuettes. It is now canon that Renaming has breasts under her fluff.
Brayden Collins
BEHOLD.
And the fluff is removable.
Jayden Myers
In a perfect world, who would be the ideal creative team for Champions?
Gavin Diaz
I desperately want Zeb Wells to make time for comics again.
Mason Jackson
Why cyclops is a kid?
Joshua Brooks
He time-traveled in from the past. It's a long and very convoluted story (as per the X-Men standard).
Matthew Wright
Nobody could have done much better. The problem is tied to the fundamental problems of Marvel editorial running on "fans buy more books if they hate them" and ham fisted political ideals.
William Rivera
Beast brought the original five X-Men to the present in hopes that Rightclops seeing his idealistic younger self and friends would make him 'good'. This fails and I have no idea why they're still in the present.
Grayson Edwards
Would you be willing to buy the Stan Lee Box to support Champions? They've got two variants!
Waid won't even let them fight proper supervillains. Thinks making them fight real-world issues is more important than just letting us have a nice and friendly book.
Dammit, let the Champions fight the Circus of Crime or the Young Masters of Evil, villain teams better suited for their age and desire to cover the small stuff that the big-name heroes won't. Let the Avengers themselves worry about things like child-trafficking and the Middle East.
Oliver Morgan
I miss Yost's New Warriors. Just felt like mentioning that.
Ethan Flores
How is that a "Sketch Variant"? It looks like they put a grayscale filter on it.
Xavier Nelson
He spent 6 issues getting through the first arc. I don't know what he was thinking on that.
Austin Carter
I don't even remember how it ended, but I remember Kaine getting choked by Thor because of a magic midget, and that was pretty great.
Jayden Garcia
I dunno about you but I'll take taking too long to get somewhere over running to nothing very quickly any day.
Evan Robinson
Reading the new Champions book is like having to eat a cactus, I honestly can't understand how Ramos can get a job on the comic industry.
Connor Bennett
Nick Spencer He balances, comedy, and political material without being heavy handed.
Probably would make sure whatever artist that's on it doesn't copy paste expressions.
Otherwise Ewing would be a good fit for Viv where ever she appears. Make her go into technomancy.
Pak could be neat, as he does Chulk, and plays Miles as a straight man. He's also writing Kamala soon.
Juan Rogers
>Otherwise Ewing would be a good fit for Viv where ever she appears. Make her go into technomancy. Fund it.
Easton Bailey
I think Ramos works for cheap and he actually does meet deadlines, which is something some Marvel artists have been struggling with.
Caleb Bell
Damn I could fuck with either of those
Zachary Lopez
Hastings, Loveness, Zdarsky, Ewing, Kelly and Thompson are the only Marvel writers with a sense of humor
Joseph Ortiz
But what about artist?
Jack Cox
Scalera, Javier Rodriguez, Rocafort, Skottie Young, Stephanie Hans, Joe Madureira or Immonen
Sweet Lord. Didn't think I'd get a Renamon underboob fetish.
Landon Wilson
ahhh teenagers changing the world...nice. let me RT this and give it a Like. thats how teens are changing the world. GROW UP DUDE
Sebastian King
Go to bed Waid.
Colton Foster
>Those of us who are making our own decisions adore the book. Oh, gawd. Champions is the new Kino?
Jack Lopez
>Nick Spencer >political material without being heavy handed
Grayson Roberts
Didn't Waid promise we'll know why Viv's characterization changed in issue 3? So did that happen? I didn't read this trash.
Ryan Perez
Spencer is better on Cap because he is too heavy handed. Might as well keep him where he is.
Ewing is the easy answer too often.
Pak would be a better fit since he was the guy that worked on Cho the most. But try to get Van Lente as well.
Daring suggestion is Loeb. I think he does teens better and he's the opposite of an SJW.
Ethan Adams
She was raped by anti-robot bigots.
Carter Cook

If I eat this rancid pile of shit and pretend I like it I'll show everyone that I'm a free thinker that doesn't follow the masses!
Jason Lopez
OP is #woke
Lincoln Rivera
Civil War II still hasn't finished? Jesus fuck!!!
Tyler Gutierrez
I actually like Ramos. He draws Kamala with those great DSLs
Christian Long
Frank Miller
Jackson Cox
Cake user here. Could i post a thread without being banned?
Carter Torres
I've been enjoying it because I'm able to remember that Kamala and Cho aren't being affected by the events of the Champions book and aren't being written any diffrent in their solo books, but mostly I'm enjoying watching Sup Forums turn inside out wuth rage over this book wuth every issue.
Hunter Gonzalez
It won't end until Carol has absolutely no friends left and Ulysses is revealed to have been part of some elaborate evil plan
Jose Ortiz
>I dig the cast At least 3 characters there are from shit books
Alexander Phillips
>rage You misunderstand rage and mocking a shit book. Its also underpreforming. So I'm enjoying marvel shooting themselves in the foot again.
Brayden Nguyen
Wait really?
Lincoln Stewart
I was hoping this book would be like Young Justice. It's not.
Zachary Wood
He draws EVERYTHING like a female midget pornstar.
Levi James
The Oath comes out next month.
Henry Taylor
How much did issue 3 sell? Like 45k?
Brandon Perry
But her aunt Wanda already has an heir.
Andrew Jackson
I read the book for free and I could not finish issue 3 If his sister wasn't there I'd assume Cho was an OC made for this book with a Cho sticker slapped over it And lastly, I have never liked Ramos, not when he was doing Flash in the 90s and not when he was doing Spidey in the early 2000s or the early 2010s
There are funny moments and at points it seems like Waid's skills are shining through But anybody who really says this is their favorite book (even out of the two Waid books) is an actual retarded person just trolling you.
Noah Jones
#2 was at 49,733. But #3 will also have two variants in the Stan Lee Box so it might boost the sales up a bit.
Matthew Watson
I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but if it's anything like Totally Awesome Hulk, I'm sure it consists of amazing art, stellar writing and diverse, touching (yet hilarious!) characters!
Liam Murphy
we have no way of knowing.
Lincoln Robinson
Apparently Miller wants to write a Captain America book for Marvel. People seem to think that would be bad idea. I say let him. In fact Marvel should offer him a job there. His writing and political views would honestly be a breath of fresh air at current Marvel.
Jeremiah Sanchez
Gurihuru
Oliver Wilson
To be honest Marvel has always had Frank Miller's fascist politics with the identity politics of SJWs. They're like the worst of both worlds.
Camden Campbell
Weeb garbage
Aiden Cox
Miller's facist politics could be a nice change of pace though, as well as being a bit of a counter against Marvel's SJW identity politics. And I do understand that whatever he would write would most likely bad. But at least it'll be a different kind of bad than Marvelfags are used to.
Champions is garbage, user. Might as well give it a super cute artstyle. That way at least it won't look like garbage.
Lucas Garcia
Can't argue with that.
Alexander Sullivan
How did original Cyclops ever exist in the present if his past stayed in the present?
Angel Price
The comic is really fun. It has some problems (not as much as Sup Forums believes) but the way every page is made to enrage people online make it a really fun comic. If you consider it non-canon it's much better. The other books certainly don't care about the characterization in Champions.
Nolan Wood
I wouldn't want Ewing on Champions, because Ewing works great with deep continuity which wouldn't be there for a bunch of legacies.
I'd have liked Wilson to write it. She'd at least get the characterizations kinda down
Julian Diaz
Ehhh. You know what? I love the way Miles and Kamala are drawn, I have no love for DC comics when He-Man AND the Thundercats aren't on the cover, and this book was easy to pick up and follow apart from having to google who Cho was.
It's not going to last; more than likely the next big plot event will break up the team, but I like it. I like the simplicity and I'm just gonna enjoy the ride whether you chuckleheads hate it or not.
Bentley Long
*crosses arms and nods wisely in agreement*
stay woke friend
Gabriel Jenkins
Wow, everything you just said was retarded as fuck!
Aiden Rodriguez
Nobody knows! It was explicitly using Doctor Doom's Back-To-The-Future style time travel as well (no alternative timelines junk, changes to the past change the present), and in one book baby Cyke temporarily dying caused classic Cyke to wink out of existence for a bit.
But this is the Bendis Age of Marvel Comics, where causality takes a back seat to just about everything. Presumably there will be a storyline at some point that deals with / hand waves the matter away.
Oliver Cooper
I liked Space Knight so I think would have liked Thompson on Champions. It would work even more perfectly if Mania were to be added to the team, considering his past experience writing her in Space Knight..
