Anyone else grow up reading and loving Asterix comics?
I think my favourite book of them all has to be Asterix & Cleopatra.

There are people who diddn't?
At least in europe you are a fucking faggot if you diddn't read Tintin, Asterix and Lucky Luke
Lucky Luke is the shit.
I was at a book fair the other month and found out that were actually a couple of Asterix comics that were never translated and published here. My rage knew no bounds.
>go to French immersion because Le Ebin Leaf Bilingual Country
>read Smurfs in original French (Les Schtroumpfs)
>never understand why the English version changes the smurfs to be purple instead of black
>read original version with supposedly brainwashing racist overtones
>never associate it with them being inherently "black" as in "african american" but as a contrast to colour being a sign of morality (i.e. "the issue is black and white")
Il sont fou ces Anglos.
Thing that's always bothered me about Asterix is we're told he's smart, but we never really see evidence of it that's not yelling at Obelix for being a pillock.
Wish the translated Asterix comics were storytimed here more often
How not? All the plans he conceives and smart remarks he often makes are proof of his quick wit.
I did.
Asterix the Legionary is my favorite.
Yeah, used to get them out of the library every weekend. Rented the animated films too, was the best.
>tfw looking back at that one where the Romans have an orgy
