I don't remember the name of the movie but I think it was about the SAS stopping some terrorists and rescuing people. It was mentioned here before and I've been meaning to watch it but I forgot.

Since it's october I'll suggest Dog Soldiers. It's the only monster movie I know of where you follow some soldiers using their training to try and survive a situation they can't handle, rather than some teens getting slaughtered.
If anyone knows some other halloween movies like that I'd love to hear it.

Unironically, Operation Dumbo Drop if you like Vietnam stuff when it comes to detail. All gear and equipment is pretty much spot on for that exact era.

I always forget to think of it that way because it doesn't really have a horror feel, both with the way the men handle it and how it's set in a brightly lit jungle.
I mean, Aliens would be another obvious example and that is a lot darker, but I still think of it way more as a Sci-Fi action than horror, same with Predator.
Neither movie had soldiers that actually felt real, to be honest.
