PHANTOM SPACE MAN?!
The monster design of the original series was pretty good.
Agreed
Nigga pls, in the 1960s horror stuff wasn't scary at all.
Nigga, just listen to his laugh

Spoken like a true millennial.
Lol. user, Bloch or King can tell you how hard it was to publish horror fiction when everyone preferred trippy scifi or fantasy stories.
Space? Then it gets less scary. And the laughter sounds like a monkey scream.
Besides, the message behind Scooby Doo was, monsters don't exist.
HOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO HAAAHEUEUEHEHAHEEEEEEE
Now I'm curious, how the hell did a disgruntled farmer fake a UFO like that?
This
>Besides, the message behind Scooby Doo was, monsters don't exist.
Guess later versions decided to toss that.
Welp, I guess I won't watch them then.
>Not wanting to watch Zombie Island.
Not even once?
You have to
Seriosuly New Scooby Doo is great
That's better.
That first episode felt really out of place.
You feel out of place
bump
Nah, it kind of did.
Or did it?
Yes.
It just felt like after the conclusion of the first season the show was rushing in order to get the characters back together.
bump
welp, didn't see that coming
drink bleach
>two hougs lateg
I remember watching Scooby Doo Where Are You every day when a little kid. It made me believe I was seeing ghost and I was hiding under the covers, I don't even wanna know what it did to kids in the 70s.
>hougs lateg
...
its a shame the show was kind of shit
I think "outdated" may be a better way to describe it.
I could imagine it being good for the time.
thats probably it
honestly the show was kind of boring to watch
it more or less follows very similar patterns but in different environments and villains
like people said though those villains are amazing
it's still good fuck y'all
Some elements I can see being timeless, which can explain how the franchise is still around, but the original show overall hasn't aged all too well.
I still have a soft spot for it. That's why I proposed calling it "outdated" over "kind of shit."
What always bothered me was how the characters tended to verbally describe anything that happens on screen.
>It's a hidden passage!
>There's the monster!
>It's dark
It felt like the audio was taken from a radio show.
>When Shaggy and Scooby barricade a door and he opens it the other way.
well it was a mystery so it might have taken heavy inspiration from radio shows
thinking about it that might have been the whole point of the show
And they would have scared everyone away if it weren't for those meddling kids
