First step into CG was a bad one (Dinosaur).
Emperor's New Groove turned out fine but was a production nightmare.
Dreamworks which ironically couldn't compete on the 2D front despite their 2D films being gorgeous started pumping out cheap CG fare for the lowest common denominator and sweeping the box office.
