Yeah in retrospect its not that good because it set some bad precedents that the EU would later warp to illogical extremes. I still liked the Thrawn trilogy, and I would have preferred it to the disaster of TFA (which ep8 and 9 might be able to save retroactively) but in my opinion the absolute biggest bullshit was in Dark Force Rising when Thrawn deduced accurately, without any evidence or reason to do so whatsoever, the entire plan of the protagonists to split up and search for the Katana Fleet, Garm Bel Iblis, the wookiees, the noghri, Mara Jade, etc etc. He successfully read the mind of the fucking author, which was atrocious writing.
