What's your honest opinion on RWBY, Sup Forums?

trash.

Positive. Haven't seen it but I like the look of the cute blonde.

Yang is best grill

It got better after Monty died

It's gotten better but it's still just barely "okay."

I only watch it for cute girls fighting.

It has serious problems that it's slowly working past, but by the point it does it will have taken too long and the majority of the show will be trash.

Literally Newgrounds Fanfiction: The Show: Made by Weebs: For Delusional Waifufags

My opinion is that I enjoy watching it, and look forward to Volume 5.

hard to argue with those dubs/dubs

i still like it though.

Terrible animation, acting, and writing, but great waifus.

Its cringey when you think about the fact that this is supposed to be a professional product. It reeks of ameutur at all points of development including animation, story and writing.

I like it but when analyzing it critically its garbage.

More like /trash/

I hate it, there's just too many sexy girls in it. Those damn teases could force a perfectly heterosexual girl into lesbianism.

>Implying femanons
Good joke

A severe drop in quality since Neo has been gone

Have faith. She SHALL return to us!

Rooster Teeth started as a bunch of nerds 'animating' with xbox gameplay captures. Amateur hour never got so good.

It's entertaining and the characters are endearing enough. That makes up for it's lack of professionalism to me, and when Monty was still with the show the fights were great, which I liked. There are worse things than having bad writing and cheap animation. It could always be boring. Last volume was a bit disappointing though, fucking nothing happened and the main character barely spoke at all. Everything could have been condensed into the opening act for a movie. I can definitely see how many people can dislike it, but I personally like it.

Yeah but the way they market rwby is beyond amateur. Its beyond youtube and things of that caliber. They reached a point where its expected to be of professional quality. I also imagine they see themselves as professionals when the voice acting writing an animation is all pretty bad.

Yeah, and the actors that are good (Vic, Lindsey, sometimes Aryn) make the bad ones (Looking at you Kara), like extra extra bad.

Honest opinion is that I'm a fan despite a lot of shit I have to overlook, because it just has charm.

And damn it felt good to say that. You just can't express nuanced opinions in /rwbyg/.

Outside of JNPR?

Garbage plot, garbage progression, animation is less then stellar at times, miles and kerry really fucking suck at their jobs.

lol, someone in the general recently actually asked about Volume 4 "When did JNPR become the better team?

>become

Bad voice acting, plot, animation, characters.
Creators are massive weebs.

I expected some kind of epic fantasy saga. All I got was a series about school girls. When the concept art is better than the show itself, there's a problem.

epic thread

my opinion its a good show and it can do better but retards like to shit on it for no reason then you go to where the fans are then shit on it then they get mad at you then you come to Sup Forums and bitch that somebody told you to fuck of

Terrible voice acting
Really bad animation except for the fights where the quality jumps dramatically. The writing is also pretty bad.
I like it.

>retards like to shit on it for no reason
I could give you loads of reasons dick ass. Try not to be such a fucking baby.

Why is this not in the general?

see for no reason

Terrible voice acting for a start. I mean Ruby, the fucking lead, can't seem to change her level of emotion worth a damn.
And the writing is insanely directionless. The villains motives and end game are incoherent at best and nonsense at worst. They all just seem to be mustache twirling assholes yet even then I can't fathom what the stakes are supposed to be except that they want to wreck everything. And how they so suddenly switched antagonists it makes me think the writers weren't quite sure how the parts fit together either.
And for all of season 4 no one actually accomplished fucking anything. Character building is all well and good but for fucks sake plot moved like two steps forward. The main characters seem entirely insignificant though I get the idea that they aren't supposed to be.

ok all i see is a guy trying his hardest to hate something

Stay deluded fampai.

You can if you aren't a pussy

Flawed but entertaining and charming enough to hold my attention

It's shit, sprinkled with shipping and waifufaggotry, so of course a bunch of people on Sup Forums eat it up even though they know it's shit.

na man

chuuni as fuck

The seasons are too short for how fast the story moves. The show is on the fourth season and still spends episodes just explaining how the world works. Those kind of pacing issues aren't easy to ignore.

It's enjoyable and I love the human/human fight scenes. The best part of it all though is being able to see it grow as the animators/writers and VA's get better. Even now the writers are doing a better job that the previous 3 seasons combined (which isn't saying much really).

Bitch, you better be talking about Jaune.

I love it like an Indian parent loves their child: I love it and I want it to succeed, but I want it to succeed far more than I will ever love it.

Not that great, but it's had noticeable improvement every season. I enjoy it.

weeb trash, unironically

Even people who watch the show have admitted they only watch it for waifus, so I just spank it to Blake and remain blissfully ignorant of the rest.

Well, sometimes Yang too.

would be better with different voice actors and better walking animation and just significantly better animation in general, like, the walking is way too slowly paced and mostly everything else is. Notice how Weiss' brother walks. his character model is completely different than everyone else's but it seems they tried to use the same walking animation sequences for him as other characters, but it just doesn't work and he ended up looking super wonky and that just made his threat level decrease because of his poor animation, and poor character design. honestly, the only good things about this show is the plot design, and that one crazy scorpion guy with the laugh
hes kinda hot, pic related

>tfw Indian and this is strikingly accurate

did someone say Tyrian thread?

I stopped watching after season 3 because I was literally too lazy to make an account on RT's website to watch season 4

but I heard season 4 sucked so whatever

I dont know who plays who so I couldn't tell you.

The fight scenes are notably less dynamic without Oum, and the pacing feels like it's also gotten notably slower. And seeing as the fight scenes were most of the draw to the show in the first place...

1seson
>meh
2season
>wow ok no bad
3season
> Woooow this is awesome
4season
>this is pure shit

Not as bad as it was
Not as good as I would like
Tits

nice meme :^)

RWBY are the least interesting characters among those who have more than a handful of lines.

Its on youtube dude.

Volume 4 has caused me to lose all hope for this series due to it being a complete clusterfuck.

it's shit. It has no redeeming qualities now that Monty is dead so I just spank it to the porn of Yang and keep up with the /rwbyg/ memes

The fights with actual people are enjoyable to watch to be completely fair.

The show is at least pretty entertaining. Unlike a lot of shows currently running. And unlike most actually improve over time.

I'm talking about this qt.

Killed off their best character. RIP Roman.

Hot garbage

>(Qrow, Ruby, sometimes Blake) ... (Looking at you Weiss)

Translation

yeah but a week later and that's no fun

/rwbyg/ post m3u8's that you can ctrl+c, ctrl+v into a website and watch new episodes as they come out.

This is Sup Forums, user. We're all about early peaks at shit we aren't allowed to see.

I meant for the past 11 episodes. Those are on youtube.

I really wanted to like it because it's got some good ideas in there and I like the idea of an amateur start up making it big.

But... it's bad. Like, not horrible, but bad. Most episodes are pointless, it takes forever to do anything worthwhile, the fights aren't that good, and the writing ranges from serviceable to atrocious. The one spot it shines in is character design, but that's not going to be enough to save it if they keep on this way.

Though if they manage to turn it all around I'll be pretty happy.

I really wanted to like it.

ok I guess i'll get back into it

Monty's dead and I wish you were too

>inb4 get called a newfag for typing out an essay

It's okay (was even hype at times) but is steadily starting to suck. I'll probably still keep watching it because I've been doing so since Vol 1 but this last season left a lot to be desired. Volume 4 had a number of problems which I'll list below:

1. Fights fucking sucked. Raid boss model almost every time makes for clunky pacing which is one of the reasons why I feel like Tyrion v Qrow worked so well. This is from a show that was created by Monty who got a lot of attention for his fight scenes. It's disappointing to feel that I only got one fight worth rewatching from all 12 episodes.

The finale fight that usually ends up being super hype really dissapointed me this time around. Stupid decisions that weren't just Ren (Jaune was pretty useless the whole time), the fact that a horse rider enemy stays mostly stationary, one strategy magically resolves the whole fight, etc. When you contrast that with Roman vs Blake/Sun, 3 stage train fight/CFVY entrance, and Phyrra v Cinder, it feels like a shitty filler fight.

2. The cringe writing. Personally, I think the VA's range from tolerable to pretty good. The writing though sometimes sends me up the wall. The show has had some wtf moments like with Zwei and what not. I'm not sure if it's gotten worse but it feels like this season in particular tried to go edgelord with some of the topics they handled. It also doesn't help that everything in the show tries to be oriental for some reason.

3. The plot. Literally felt like a waste of time after I finished this season. Yang recovers, Blake is back home, RNJR and crew make it to their destination. We don't learn anything significant about the world outside of the WoR episodes. The character development is either lacking or extremely shallow. Even the setup for volume 5 feels weak with only a handful of interesting lines to go off of (White Fang, some of the villians... and that's about it.)

It doesn't belong on Sup Forums.

>gives several valid reasons
>lol u mad bro

Dropped that sack of shit at RTX 2013 while seeing it played at the panel for the first time ever.
>character intros set up wandering warrior/Grimm Fairy Tales type feel
>get high school hijinks instead

Cliche Ridden show that pretends to be different than all the others. Also Something about Plagiarism?

Has anyone noticed the absurdity of character's behavior? Like some really bad actors, but CG (besides voices). They only remember their main lines and don't even try to act like living humans. I miss good old small talk&silly humor.

I haven't watched it since the 2nd episode of vol 4. It wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed some of it.

By that logic we shouldn't be allowed to post about Avatar either.

The writers are trying to do something thats beyond their capabilities

Weeaboo's waifus: the amateur animation

It's Roosterteeth, who does machinima and achievement hunter. How could they possibly make a decent anime? It's beta cuck shit for neckbeards.

Is it true that this started out as Monty Oum's Final Fantasy fanfic?

they need a barefoot girl

getting worse per season

I fucking wish the creators were massive weebs, then maybe they'd actually take inspiration from decent anime instead of shit like SAO.

Great series.
Has its share of downsides, but is generally exciting most of the time.

Volume 1 Awesome.
Volume 2 Even more awesome.
Volume 3. Eh, awesome. And darker ending.
Volume 4. Maya sucks. Going back to Poser?

Tyrian trolling and later going berserk was the only good thing about Volume 4.

My opinion is that RWBY is an independent animation studio creating a narrative-driven animated series with a serious tone, utilising a set of fleshed-out predominantly female leading cast, and whilist doing so crafting better action cinema than Hollywood ever did in its entire history, all on a budget.

My opinion is that RWBY is a landmark in independent animation and filmmaking, and years down the line it will be hailed as a classic of action cinema/serials alongside the likes of Die Hard and 24, and a classic of independant cinema/animation as well.

I've never seen it but I can already tell its garbage.

I liked it up to a point, it was charming and silly and had some cool fights.

Then this happened:That hurt. I mean, that really hurt. Call me a waifufag or whatever you want, but I liked this character and she just got obliterated for the sake of saying, "See, shit just got real."

Or more precisely, she got obliterated in order for Jaune to get some half-assed motivation for being worth a damn.

Now, I don't hate Jaune, but I will say that I'm tired of his kind of character. He's the bumbling idiot loser archetype that we now have to sit through learning how to man the fuck up and Pyrrha was the sacrifice to do that.

I mean, this twit had no idea what he was doing at Beacon, he didn't know how to fight, he didn't know how to use Aura, he couldn't even stand up for himself until it was plot relevant, and all of that is simply cliche and boring.

Meanwhile, Pyrrha is an accomplished, skilled and powerful warrior who knows what she's doing and cares enough to use her skills for the sake of others. And she had a lot of pressure on her to perform, being something of a minor celebrity and expected to achieve greatness. And she accepted that, even though its clear she really only wanted a simple life, with friends and family.

Then she has to make a very tough choice about becoming the Autumn Maiden, something which causes her a great deal of turmoil, but again, she takes on the burden for the sake of others.

Then she just dies for nothing. I knew she was going to die before I watched the season, but I was expecting some heroic fall in battle or sacrifice to stop the bad guy. But no, she's just dust in the wind and nothing she did mattered.

That kind of shoddy, shock-value writing and dismissal of character is something that I really don't care for. Not to mention, season 4's plot went pretty much nowhere.

So in the end, I don't think I'll continue. If things change, maybe I'll check back in but as of now, I'm out.

R.I.P. Pyrrha.

...

Terrible show. But good waifus

that was the dead or alive/FF crossover Dead Fantasy.

Care to explain this, son?

The exact point that RT had no chance of ever being funny again.

Maya is industry standard. They just either don't have time, money, and/or talent

See, If I say this to anybody else who watches the show, I'm suddenly hated for wishing his death upon him. Oum wasn't that great.
