Make Star Trek Great Again with Season 2!

Old:

>The Orville is renewed for a second season
>STD on suicide watch

>Fixed typo

>STD on suicide watch
Orville is a second rate knockoff of STD trying to get hip to kids by sucking on the fumes of how everyone is talking about STD while Orville is just riding their coat tails.

Wow that guy was right when he said you never leave Sup Forums

Fuck you Sup Forums, I like it.

>Star
>Trek
>Discovery
>STD
LMAOOOOOOO!!!!

DISCO got renewed first which is all that matters. They had to wait until viewers stop declining before renewing that piece of shit Trek parody.

its like the sex disease
the name of the show is the sex disease !

>tfw still haven’t gotten my HIV test results back even though they were supposed to call me today

D-Does that mean something is wrong, lads?

>there are Star Trek "fans" that hate the other shows but love STD

michael is a mans name

>I dare you not to watch Star Trek Discovery
Challenge accepted. Talking down beloved ST series and captains is not a good way to sell your show.

>be me
>arguing with a friend about disco
>"it's not just a rehash of old shit you've seen 10 times"
>watch ep 7
>they do the "Time Loop"
>fuck me

>Burnham struggles with socializing and buries herself in studies and work
>oh no she's such an inexperienced social outcast
>entire scene of her at a party being awkward with a guy, just to illustrate this
>not five seconds later: "Burnham this is Lorca, please report to the bridge to check out this huge space whale that never gets laid because it spends all its time working, what a fucking loser lmao I'll be in my gun cave"

BECAUSE IT'S JUST LIKE HOW SHE BEHAVES, SEE? DO YOU UNDERSTAND THESE CRYPTIC SHAKESPEAREAN METAPHORS?

WHERE DO I COLLECT MY ACADEMY AWARD

Based STD poster

just call them, brosis
they may just be busy
good luck, hope you didnt catch DISCO

>home for another two days

ATTENTION TO BAJOR!
TODAY I SEX MOM!
YOU MUST WORK!
THIS IS ALL

Orville won......... Damn........

>renewed first which is all that matters.
I cant take you seriously when you are calling one of the longest running scifi series a dancing genre, its ridiculous. That is why all the real star trek fans who love scifi are using STD.

>the name of the show is the sex disease !
No its not get our of our thread, STD generals are for serious discussion only.

So is std already running out of ideas or why did they have to copy an episode of tng (and make it worse)?

The thing is that you may like it, but it doesn't like you back. In fact it probably hates you.

Is DSG a funny show?

kek

holy shit i could barely stomach last weeks episode. hope they never bring back the joss whedon inspired character again. either make a serious toned sci-fi with dark elements or a campy sci-fi action/adventure with ham acting.

How will STD tards ever recover?

>have tardigrade
>tardigrade just slaughtered the crew of the [NEVER TO BE MENTIONED AGAIN], discovery's sister ship
>michael: DONTCHU BE JUDGIN BY ITS APPEARANCE OR PAST

what did they mean there, i can't tell

Tardigrade rampages are just part and parcel of serving on a science ship.

They can't

The next episode of The Orville begins in 20 minutes. You can watch it with us at brettygood com. This week's episode looks like it'll be a good one. It even has a recognizable Trek actor in it!

Have a nice day!

I'll just leave this here

>robot and doc ep
either gonna suck ass or be tight

>Orville won......... Damn........
Orville is a complete failure, there are petitions going up now to get it pulled off the air for stealing viewers who should be watching STD. Orville is literally stealing viewers with their stupid version of SciFi which they think is better which is impossible since its not dark or gritty, and the crew get along which is unrealistic in any real environment like that where normally people are scheming and constantly at each others throats to sabotage them.

the orville is so much better than STD it's not even fucking funny. this current episode is excellent.

>actually care about the outcome of the episode
>actually care about the episode
>actual funny jokes
>rotating time spent on characters so you love them all

it's not even close

so this... is the power... of parrot media...

no one was ever going to pay for CBS's pay-to-watch-commercials streaming platform, bro

I just got around to watching this weeks episode and I hate it less than five minutes in. Are they seriously playing futuristic beer pong and listening to hip hop? This is worse than the SG1 parody of SGU. Fuck I can't believe I payed $10 for this.

At least you know that you shouldn't though.

Hey, link me those petitions, ok? I want to check them out.

Now they are talking about their "partners"

>I can't believe I payed $10 for this
None of us can. Why are you such a ducking idiot? Did you seriously think that was a responsible purchase?

Maybe tge place you went is incompitent so there may be a chance they fucked up your test or mixed the results so w/e they tell you may be wrong. Hope that helps

>ducking
rangeban all phoneposters

>rangeban someone posting on their phone on their home network

huh

pls no I live in the woods and have verizon internet but I use a pc like a human do

redirect all phoneposters to reddit where they belong

no, just a typo

Now she ate something and turned into a ghost

Thank you for your purchase of CBS ALL ACCESS, george_sandez93! We welcome you to the CBS ALL ACCESS family.

That sounds like 2 episodes ago.

>Goodman: There’s no getting around that there’s some Star Trek inspiration in this show…Seth wanted an uplifting show; a show that presented an optimistic view of the future, which is what Roddenberry [did]. So, they share that philosophy.

>Goodman: I think the difference for us, is that Seth was very much aware…he’s making a show for everybody. That’s what gets lost in the discussion of Star Trek fans liking and not liking a show. The original Star Trek was a show that millions of people watched, all over the world. A subset of them – like me – are super passionate Star Trek fans. I’ve written three Star Trek books. I’m a big fan, but we represent a very small, tiny part of the audience that watch that show. Seth wanted to do a show that was for everybody. And I think that may be closer to the reason that people are making that connection. That, this is a show, that people don’t need to know the backstory of that universe to get into it.

>Braga: And you don’t need to watch every episode to swing into the story. It’s more classical storytelling.

Excuse me, the chief of security was clearly ignoring everything that happened on that ship when she opened the tartigrade's pen and shot at it despite having witnessed it not being affected by phaser fire. How brave and stunning

How would an airborne tranquilizer even work on a creature that can survive in the vacuum of space?

>don't judge it by past experiences!
>... okay, I'll just ignore how phasers didn't affect it at all and try to kill it with a phaser
>oh fuck i'm dead

this writing is so layered and complex

ooo you know it gurl

me and mah guyl shanequa were just talkin bout STD

finally they be catering to their main demographic! *clap*

the future is black and brown sweaty mhmm

the future be female and all you wypipo gonna finna be history

*clap* thank God CBS recognize us black folk and women be the main target for star trek *clap*

god damnit go away, this is like the one (you) you've gotten after 16+ hours of that crap.

*sucks teeth*

you just jealous michael burnham is the future of star trek

the future is black space is black deal with it nazi

Can you at least start spelling "sweety" correctly?

(Please enjoy your second (you), from a different poster no less)

umm weaty that's where you are wrong

michael burnham is my third husband's daughter's role model

she is inspired by this new trek now that it is finally catering to its main audience

Honestly, my life sucks right now. I'm being bombarded with bad news on a personal, economic and global scale daily.

The Orville makes me forget my problems and makes me laugh, makes me feel, and makes me hope for the future a little too. STD has its merits but I don't need more darkness and edgy grimdark sicknasty action in my life right now.

grammar =/= spelling

I dont get it. What does std even stands for?

chu tryin to say?

hmmm?

you are racist if you don't like how i talk an shiieet

I see you there, giving it (you)s because you think it makes people mad

i literally hope you never leave

*snaps fingers three times in a Z pattern in the air like a sassy independent african nubian womyn would do*

snap snap snap
mmmmhHMMMMMM!!!!!

That was genuinely human and vulnerable. I honestly don't expect to get that very often here outside of maybe /adv/. I hope shit gets better, user. Disregard the haters you'll probably get.

>it
>it
>it

HOL UP

whatchu just say white boy?

I have never heard you speak before so I have no feelings on it.

Now, can you honor my request so that I can more easily understand your intent in the future when you try to convey your opinions about this show?

*clap*

finnally anotha woke af PoC STD fan mhmmm *clap*

we are the future *clap*

don't like it nazis? too bad

michael burnham is the future of star trek

>I dare you not to watch Star Trek Discovery
to be more precise,if you are american he dares you not to pay for cbs all access.
that having the orville for free...

Whats with people acting like piracy doesn't exist?

STD was stupidly well seeded when all the free trials ended. Not to mention some people aren't retarded and VPN into netflix.

netflix is paying the lion's share of STD production so CBS doesn't care. it's all just money laundering anyways. 8 million an episode for STD give me a break

>Whats with people acting like piracy doesn't exist?
in the normie world only normie things exist.
I really really hope they kill michael.
but i cant see a bunch of sjw killing an empowered black woman.

if they keep to the anthology season plan thing, they're most likely going to have stamets go all Q and prevent the incident that orphaned her, and without her around to ruin literally everything for literally everyone, the sporedrive never works.

if CBS was smart they would make the next season about a different ship, i thought that's what they were doing anyways, if they keep michael burnham and the guy that accused kevin spacey it could be too toxic

Its not like CBS has a real choice here. they either keep the show running or they have to admit their streaming platform is a total failure.

there is no way they can hide the fact that their subscriber count is laughable

Sure they can. They don't have to release the numbers, ever.

Star Trek Discovery
Sexually Transmitted Disease

their shareholders will know

Shareholders only know what they're told. and they'll be told meaningless shit that sounds good but indicates nothing

that's not how it works. i would be surprised if they get a third season

they only made STD to retain the copyright anyways

That's exactly how it works, breh.

Since CBS is not paying anything for discovery they can claim their streaming platform is immensely profitable and say something like they've recouped all infrastructure and content costs. Which implies they've made millions off it.

Hey.

It's called DIS, or DISCO, or DISCOVERY, fuckface.

It's printed on the in-universe in-canon uniforms of the USS Discovery Star Trek crew, fucking shitlord.

source?

>implies
yeah that won't last forever. the shareholders will realize what a burden this show is and now they made a new show under this title they can retain the copyright for it again

>now they made a new show under this title they can retain the copyright for it again
Where are you getting this from? That is not how it works.

You're literally blabbering about nothing right now, friend.

The show is irrelevant. The streaming platform is CBS' main prayer.

yeah it does. if CBS didn't make another Star Trek show they would lose the rights to make that show. They can't just hold on to the Star Trek Title forever without making a show. that's not how it works

uh... yea bro, copyright law hasn't worked that way for a little while. Trek would literally never go public domain.

yeah bro they can hold onto the Star Trek title forever without doing anything with it. that's how it works bro

... best not to talk about things you know nothing about.

exactly

CBS can retain copyright over Star Trek forever

they don't even need to do anything with it

it's theirs forever

>For works published or registered before 1978, the maximum copyright duration is 95 years from the date of publication

Them making a show has nothing to do with it. If I had to guess, you seem to be basing your knowledge of the deals marvel had with studios. Which was very specific licensing rights to movies and in no way reflects copyright law. If that is the case, I could understand the confusion due to the way the media reports it.

Who are you quoting?

>Copyright renewal is a process through which an initial term of copyright protection for a work can be extended for a second term. Once the term of copyright protection has ended, the copyrighted work enters the public domain, and can be freely reproduced and incorporated into new works.
