This comes out tonight, and I have not seen a single word about it on Sup Forums. What's up? I've heard it's great, plus it's about LEGION.

LEGION is getting it's own tv show, what the fuck. Anyone else hype?

I do not have cable so I can't watch it.

I'll find you a link and post it!

Ive read good reviews for it. Im hoping it begins the X-tv universe with very solid foundations. It would be awesome to have something on the level of Westworld in terms of quality and creativity. Ive heard its in that ballpark.

I'm pretty hype, and I say this as someone who's not a fan of Marvel stuff in general (in fact, I usually *avoid* Marvel things).

The creator of the Fargo TV show also created this. IMO, Fargo S1 was one of the best seasons of TV I've seen in quite a while, and based on the trailers, Legion has all the hallmarks of being just as good as that.

>buying into the company wars meme
What a sad existence your must be.

No. I'm sure it's great because of Marvel Television but I will not be watching anything x-men until they are back where they belong

Nice shitpost, bro.

twitter.com/LegionFX/status/829329445676806144

>Let's make a X-Men series with none of the X-Men or any of their villains

This is even worse than fucking Gotham

Legion is his own cast

>westworld
>a creative benchmark

and I'm sure it will be some Fight Club bullshit where the villain of the story is in his head

Predictable and lame

...what are you expecting from Legion?

>we're getting a motherfucking Legion TV show
>this faggot complains about it
>with a gay Iceman O5 reaction image

dude use the internes, rarbg is your friend, also don't forget to turn on protocol encryption in your torrent client

It would be better if he masters his powers and uses it to take down some villain

It's 2017 and you don't know how to watch anything unless it's on tv?

That's a good thing, i'd rather burn my eyes out then watch a show with the cast of Apocolypse.

McAvoy and Stewart are rumored to make cameos in the show.

>cast of Apocolypse.

Legion is not set in that universe. Or perhaps that is just their excuse for not being able to use Xavier, Jean, etc. The other X-Men series they are making is also not really about X-Men at all but instead focus on some OC donut steel and his family running away from anti-mutant crackdown

I wonder if Fox's film division did a character embargo like DC did against their television shows. Even if you can't afford Huge Actman or Patrick Stewart you could always recast the X-Men. It seems they didn't get permission to use any characters that are used in the films at all

>Legion is not set in that universe.

Singer has said that Legion is it's own thing, but they might play around with it if they feel like it.

Because, with Legion, does it ever really matter?

"Legion" is set in the X-Men movieverse, but there aren't direct references to the movie characters. David is only implied to be Xavier's son.

>it'd be cool if he was a completely different character than in the comics he's based on

Nice.

Pretty sure he's being sarcastic.

I'm very hype but I don't have a tv or cable so I'll be watching it online an hour or so after the premiere.

>completely different

He gets some wristband to let him control which of his personas he wants to use and use that power to his benefit

that would be cooler to see in live action than just a crazy person losing control of himself

From what we seen in the trailers, this is him while his psyche is at civil war with itself.

I've been curious about since I've seen the commercials

Any confirmed characters in this yet?

Just rumors of both Prof. Xs.

>Any confirmed characters in this yet?

No. Supporting cast will probably be 100% OC. I don't even think the alter egos of Legion will even be ones he had in the comics.

I think Aubrey probably has a chance of being that punk rocker chick

>tfw no Blindfold

The Cast.

DAVID HALLER (Dan Stevens)

>Born with psychic abilities that he cannot control, David was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age and meets the girl of his dreams in a psychiatric hospital, sending him on a mind-warping journey of self-discovery as he learns he is perhaps the most powerful mutant in the world.

You'd hope so, but see
This is his origin, dumbass. That's like complaining about Batman Begins not being about Batman using all of his prep-time to save the day and take down the Justice League. Why would he have something at the beginning of his journey that he received after decades of going through shit in the comics?

SYD BARRETT (Rachel Keller)

>A self-sufficient and street-smart young woman whom David meets in a psychiatric hosptal. A mutant with the power to trade bodies with whoever she touches, Syd still believes in happily ever after despite not controlling her abilities, and becomes Haller's "girlfriend" although she can't let anyone physically touch her.

From just seeing pictures of the show I was worried they were making him a pretty boy hero. But listening to him speak in trailers sounds pretty spot-on to Legion. Also they keep saying how the show is the origin of a supervillain. I'm hyped

LENNIE BUSKER (Aubrey Plaza)

>David's childhood friend who remains an impossible optimist despite a history of drug and alcohol abuse and a rough demeanor.

AMY HALLER (Katie Aselton)

>David's older sister, who tries to remain positive despite her brother's condition and fears that her family's history of mental illness might soon affect her as well.

MELANIE BIRD (Jean Smart)

>A demanding psychiatric therapist who uses unconventional methods in an effort to undestand David's unique condition and measure the true extent of his abilities.

PTONOMY WALLACE (Jeremie Harris)

>A sardonic and standoffish former child prodigy and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David.

>He gets some wristband
That was a Ben 10/Dial H for Hero rip off

And it was a very temporary solution. It only lasted for a single arc before he went into limbo and had to start conquering his other selves within his own mind to use their powers

CARY LOUDEMIRK (Bill Irwin)

>A geeky scientist and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David.

Different user, but please do. Might switch out of cable soon & I'd love to continue keeping up with this & a few other shows. & while I have Showbox, I know some shows I watch aren't on there. So whatever helps.

KERRY LOUDEMIRK (Amber Midthunder)

>A savant with a childlike sense of wonder and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David. Cary's daughter.

MR. BIRD (Jemaine Clement)

>Melanie's mysterious husband who spent 20 years trapped in the astral plane.

We're all counting on you here, user.

I'm fucking hype, honestly. Saw the first half hour or so at NYCC and it looked really good.

This just made me realize how good the original new mutants issues about Legion with flashbacks to young Xavier and Magneto in Israel were, Claremont could be very fucking inspired sometimes.

Well Tamatoa hasn't always been this glam

I'm sort of in the same boat. I only liked Netflix Marvel stuff. I find the comics and movies to be lacking.

Legion actually looks cool and I always believed Xmen characters would work great on tv.

I get that some are disappointed this isn't a full on X-men show, but I think it'll still be great since it's 100% going for it's own thing. Gotham doesn't work but it has all the same characters and a million winks and nods to who they should be while refusing to fully go for it for the most part.

>while refusing to fully go for it for the most part.

You must be crazy

Season one that was definitely the case, and even now they definitely have limits. No one will ever wear more than bulky armor as a costume, no one will ever go by their villain names, and Bruce will never become Batman. It's like Smallville, no matter how close they get it'll never fully become the comics or even the movies.

>No one will ever wear more than bulky armor as a costume, \
Azreal, The Spirit of the Goat, Black Mask Sr.

>no one will ever go by their villain names
Azrael, Penguin, Balloonman, Spirit of the Goat

>Bruce will never become Batman.
I'll give you that. But he has definitely grown into the most important tenants.

Looked at their twitter and found this interview snippet with Dan Stevens

>in the course of looking into the character, one of the things that delighted and surprised me was the sense of humour in the original comics that we really sort of tried to infuse. There's a real kind of cynicism and wit to him in the original character. And I guess that sort of developed, that sense developed, that kind of anarchic, slightly mischievous darkness elaborated as we show in the series so that was kind of cool to play with.
So they did read X-Men Legacy and did take inspiration at least as far as character traits are concerned. Makes me all the more excited.
Considering there's really only the 20-odd issues of X-Men Legacy that we really got to see David as his own character, getting more of him in a different context and story might be pretty cool.

Showrunner said in an interview that he really wants to evoke Sienkewicz's visuals

this looks like it might be cool. will def tune in at 10 and give it a shot.

What time does it start?

I'd quite like to look at those at some point. I absolutely LOVED X-Men Legacy, but haven't touched older Legion stuff. I mostly know his pre-Spurrier days as a walking plot-device.

Read X-Men Legacy. Trust me on this one.

New X-Men by Morrison is also great

chances this guy is actually Shadow King?

Oh that's going to be an absolute treat to see someone try to pull off in a live action medium.

>Aubrey Plaza
Dropped.

Not even trying man

Marvel is objectively shit.

Gotham is amazing though?

Tell that to Zod's snapped neck!

>"xmen" show
>No Scott, Emma, Jubes, Illyana, Kurt, Petey, Rogue, Sean, Sam, Roberto, Dani, ect

>unironically being a characterfag

jubilee is insecure about her boobies there. i've read that book a million times and i'm just now noticing this

>wanting to hear a story about fucking Legion instead of one of the good xmen

X-Men: Legacy was a great book other than having shit art every other issue

>implying he's not one of the "good" X-Men
Do yourself a favor and read this right now, characterfag

when does it air?

10 pm EST

Little over an hour

Wait this is about x-men? The only promo i've seen in my shithole country didn't look interesting at all. But if everyone is going nuts then count me in.

So are all of them going to turn out to be David, or just the more obvious ones like Syd, Lennie and Amy?

>Considering there's really only the 20-odd issues of X-Men Legacy that we really got to see David as his own character,

Well, he did also have that stint he had in the New Mutants.

It's set in a version of the X-men Universe, the main character is a mutant, but it's unlikely that any X-men will even be mentioned. It's being done by the Fargo guy though, so it should be at least entertaining.

>An hour and a half
>At 10pm

What am I, made of energy?

I'm going to rip out your spine and beat you with it.

Then watch it tomorrow, no one's forcing you to stay up.

FX has had a really great track record with their original shows for the past few years, so I'm pretty optimistic.

But I want to hang out with all my cool friends on Sup Forums.

Are there any streams?

I haven't seen Apocalypse but hear it isn't that good so what do? What lore will I miss?

Was it ever explained how Wolverine got his adamantium after DoFP?

I will watch anything with this smug Kiwi.

Not much outside of Mystique joining the X-Men as field commander.

Mags

i thought apocalypse explained it?

btw its starting!

Westworld was a huge disappointment. I say that as someone who watched every episode. I've never seen a show so shamelessly manipulative in stringing along its audience negatively. What the fuck was that finale?

I hope this is good

he was still a part of weapon x really Stryker being Mystique didn't matter

youtube.com/watch?v=4LIcOFvWqjk
There, you seen the best part of the film.

The film is a film that doesn't progress that narrative in any meaningful way. Hell, Quicksilver never tells Mags that he is his son. We have a 20 minute detour just for Wolverine that has nothing to do with the film, and contradicts DoFP's ending.

Alright let's go.

What was wrong with the finale?

Will we get Susan Sunshine? All I care about really

This is shot so well.

nothing was, he just has shit taste
