bump

thanks for the list OP, I haven't seen many japanese movies but I will check them out, especially whatever is the image. I did see 13 Assassins recently which was great though

Twilight samurai

The Taste of Tea was a weirdly great movie

Kwaidan is good

>I will check them out, especially whatever is the image
Taste of Tea, one of the comfiest movies you'll ever watch

Kikujiro is a feel good movie. It is about a man and a boy traveling across Japan on a journey and they meet a cast of interesting characters and find themselves in funny situations.

Slow but its destroys the soul

Onibaba is a decent horror film about two peasent women who lure desperate samurai into a deathtrap to steal their belongings to trade for food. Then a man shows up which throws a wrench into their old life and one of the women makes plans to fix things.

Kwaidan is GOAT you filthy peasant! It's one of the most bautiful films ever made.
I've rarely seen a visually more striking film.

The Life of Oharu is a sad film. This woman leads a tragic life. It is a bit unrealistic how much shit piles on her over the course of her life. Still a decent film.

Samurai Rebellion is a good a samurai film. Toshiro Mifune plays a master swordsman loyal to his fuedal lord but over the course of the film his family is met with repeated insults which finally leads to violence.

Have you not seen the Samurai Trilogy? I think these films have the best overall story among Samurai films.

The best one is this one, faggot.

I forgot the link : imdb.com/title/tt2215676/

So I add an image.

I put it on my watchlist but it could take a while before I watch it
I'm not that much of a samurai fan tbph

don't know many japan movies, but can call each other faggot, faggots

Lost in Translation
The Ramen Girl

those are "japanese" movies

Rape Zombie, Japan actually has a proper zombie movie about rapist zombies.

Red Beard, this is the film that made Toshiro Mifune and Akira Kurosawa part ways. It is about a virtuous doctor who runs a clinic for the poor. He is also one of the best doctors in Japan and his expertise is sought by the rich and powerful. He takes on apprentice doctors routinely. They do it because they want to learn from the best and the plot follows the development of one of these apprentices where he transforms from a shallow person to a man of character.

>Despite widespread international screenings, the film has never been released on DVD in any country, including Japan. There is currently no way to watch The Warped Forest. It is unknown why the movie has never been commercially released.

Kino song too:

It has been screened at festivals, I don't know why nobody wants to edit it on DVD, it is a masterpiece of Japan weirdness

>Why Don't You Play in Hell?
where can I watch this?

why are japs obsessed with big heads

anyone seen vengeance is mine? Very strange movie but I liked it.

Your okay and meh movies are better than the ones you recommend.

Radio no Jikan is a great comedy that mostly happens in just one room.

this, snowblood and battle royale are great

This movie was amazing.

Do you have any english subs for it ?

The Pillow Book is a Western production that takes place in Japan and melds Western, Japanese and Chinese ideas. It is mostly in English and it is an erotic film. It's about a Japanese model who wants to complete a ritual of painting books on peoples bodies, Ewan McGregor is her lover. Weird film.
