Grand Prix (1966)

>racing or driving movie
>driver shifts, revs shoot up to the redline
>car accelerates harder

Le Mans, if you don't need no stinkin' plot in your racing kino.

>Gambling movie
>protagonist wins by getting a Royal Flush

Do you not understand how a transmission works?
Lower gear = higher acceleration, lower top speed

>racing movie
>characters under the age of 30 who know how to drive on their own

I do. I drive.

Revs don't shoot up to the redline if you shift into a higher gear during acceleration

And if you shift down in to a lower gear to accelerate and the engine revs are just under the limiter, the car wouldn't go any faster either. You'd just hit the rev limiter.

Well then it's not a racing film but an american movie.

How does that matter?

>"Futuristic" racing movie
>Cars aren't electric
kek

>sports movie
>team loose actual game.
>then the judges come in and say they won because the other team had their foot on the line or some shit
