MENFIN!

Gomer is a real name?

Rogntudju!!

I loved those, I read my dad's collection everyctkme I visit him. Why is it never discussed?

Comedy book, old, untranslated, very little fapping material.
Not exactly in Sup Forums's wheelhouse.

It's a shame though.

no cute girls
no dead parents

Like you wouldn't bang Jeanette?

wondering how they'll translate names, and if they kept the Spirou journal as a setting, or localized that stuff.

It's not like anybody's going to believe this is in New York or something.

>Goomer
sounds ridiculous.
but probably one of the funniest things ever

I kept wondering if that... thing that Gaston created is actually possible to build.

And what US publisher would he work at?

Not cape.

>very little fapping material.

Or that prehistorical music instrument that causes earthquakes.

Which one?
I assume you mean the Gaffophone since it's the most reoccuring one.
Also yes, a couple have been built

Franquin really was one of us.

I suggest the Brontosauriophone as a name.

>Official lewds:
Yeah I know, but the comic itself is not full of cheesecake. Hell the Franquin lewds are brought up pretty much every time Gaston is discussed here.

Hey Cinebook, when you finish the main series, could you start with this?

>Why is it never discussed?

They are never trending on twitter lol.

Teens will be teens, don't worry about it.

Did Cinebook publish all of Franquin's Spirou?

>Gaston Lagaffe as Gomer Goof
But why?

>my dad's collection
I feel old now.

>b.b.but it's ok for teens to be stupid
>nah in my time nobody said that but it was probably just me
sorry, but no, people have to face the problem of modern, post 90's education has created extremely stupid and downright dangerous people. I

>in my time nobody said that
Liar.
t. born 1985.

It was in the Bible.

Haha WTF English world. Let me get this straight: You are just getting this NOW? Good English world sucks with their action comic bulky gays shit.

He was briefly published in English as Gomer Goof

Also Gomer Pyle an American sitcom about a yokel who became a Marine to the bane of his sergeant. Also what people called Sgt. Slaughter when he was a heel.

Cinebook is British. Hell Methuen set Tintin in England.

What, there never was an english translation? This comic is like 40 years old, it's about fucking time you translate this classic.

Those were just sickeningly cute.

Exactly how I feel. English speakers are so fucking retarded when its about comics. It's just action shit. They even fail at translating manga.

In my country they had him work at the comic book publishing company that actually published the translated version, even though from the street views it's obvious it's in France.

I loved the series as a kid. I should probably consider collecting the albums, actually

Dunno why they didn't keep calling him Gaston. Gaston Goof works alright.

Also, there's a joke in the serie that there's no fifth tome. There's 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and so on, but no 5.

For some reason the fifth tome ended up in my house, it's basically the same characters, through differents artists and most of the situation involves porn or dark humor. Think like thoses pages who get posted sometimes about a coupla biker fucking a guy in the ass because they were bored one afternoon.

I'm... I'm afraid to click.

How bad does it actually sound?

it's hillarious

Yeah, while it's good it's being published in English, I really thought we'd moved past Anglicising names and titles. The kind of people who are going to be buying this are going to already know it's French. Hell, even readers in general can cope with French characters having French names, I'm not really sure why publishers think they can't.

Oh that's amazing.

>Gaston LeGoof
Fixed.

It's a freedom fries thing, I think.

Niilo Pielinen

Tomás Elgafe.

This is very popular all over Europe (along with Spirou). But since is not capeshit or capeshit related Sup Forums doesn't care much

>it's obvious it's in Fr
But it's not, it's in Belgium.

Well in Gaston a lot of characters have names that aren't actually names, but just normal words, or sometimes "puns" I guess.
>Lagaffe
>Fantasio
>Prunelle
>Lebrac
>Labévue
>Jules-de-chez-Smith-en-face
A lot of them are pretty contextual, like, idk Pokemon.
Not that I usually advocate for overlocalization but I kinda get it.

But yeah "Gommer" is overdoying it.

When isn't Mini France.... France?

>He's giving her the LeGoofballs...

Like France except with more genocide and child porn?

Now that's just mean.
