hello fellow architect

im but a noble lawyer, but i appreciate good places and the difficult process of creation. my uncles an architect so maybe ive inherited it from him.

Is it a documentary op or porn for builders ? But yes one of the greatest shows made 17 years old this year.

Its gotta be a documentary and I havn't even seen the definition of documentary for a while. It's non-fiction and doesn't really provide a distorted bias. Of course you could criticise and say it leaves things out and the timelines appear shorter than they are (years generally) but what can you do with 30 minutes of tv?

Such a comfy show and very educational.

I'm sure it is he basically just turns up at a building site and films what goes on,there's isn't much direction going on all his to camera are done as live too. As for the porn quip I know builders that fawn over it and discuss it at work.
Also one of the only tv shows I know that the full family sits down together for.

>tfw watch it by myself cause no family
one day ;_;

i didnt know builders were into it but i shouldnt be surprised. only bloke i can bond with it is my uncle the architect. his house is so beautiful. people underestimate how much it affects your quality of life being in a beautiful environment.

I love it. It's great

user there should be enough here for a talkback thread we will watch with you. Yes builders love it , they talk about the technical aspect and the materials the use. Again something all types of people can talk about it funny to see bricklayers talking to scaffolders about how the plastering was on the night before a show.

>love Grand Designs
>some place suggests "Restoration Home"
>watch two episodes of it, first one's about two people who restore a church to live in without damaging the church itself
>think I've found a comfy new house show to watch
>second episode is this: youtube.com/watch?v=R1N3CLCBkwE
>mfw that complete destruction by a pair of yuppies, who actually believe they SAVED the building by making it into a shitty soulless house that you can't even talk in without a constant echo

I've never been so pissed at an architectural show before or since. The way the dude is the most excited about how much money his solar panels are making him really paints a perfect picture. It's like the antithesis of how comfy Grand Designs is.

>architect
>lawyer

do we have a doctor in the house? fucking normies reee

think weve got some sour grapes at least buster brown

In about six months, yes. Does that count?

giving this a crack

The show where he builds his own cottage by the sea is great.

bloody hell women are fucked

just kept pushing this guy to spend money he lacked

only 15 minutes in and you can tell this project is a fucking tragedy

it's kind of repetitive. One or two episodes are alright, but after a while all the designs tend to look alike.
*modernist* trend = arr rook the same

Woman can't understand how money should be used, that's why stupidly rich people are always males, not the glass ceiling.

In my small sample size of my family and who I know this is correct. They are not critical thinking with money. They follow the memes.

Bump

Im watching this family go full autism

The guy had a near death experience so he turned YOLO and the wife encouraged it because theyre stupid animals and now the family has debts it cant service for the purpose of ???? because theyll be forced to sell the place if they cant service the debt in a few years so the whole project would have been for ????

Boring

kek.

I enjoyed these types of programme loads more before I became a Town Planner

Fucking George Clarke and timber cladding

>the one where there was no permission for all the works performed to a Listed Building

You fucking idiot, now all the Council have to do is just show the court an hour long programme on Channel 4 and you and your builders are fucked

1. had permission and lied for dramatic effect
2. got paid more by the tv show than they would face in fines to end up in profit
3. fucked in the head dumbcunts

Ehhh, potentially but that wouldn't commute a possible prison sentence so i'm going to go with 3

ultimate pleb detected

Did anyone see that one there a few days ago with the lad who liked boots and clearly hadn't done a days work in his life (being a middle-aged man) living off his cushy inheritance that they had to put in a trust because he was so incompetent? I felt so sorry for his architect desu.

>ha ha let's just put in a tower ha ha

cunt

Kino?

BBC World Dream Spaces was better, desu.

"Mike and Ashley's ambitious project is 34 months behind schedule and well over budget"
*Kevin McCloud sits with the owners in the portacabin that's become their home*
"So how much has this cost you so far?"
*Ashley stares at Mike who looks at the floor, contemplating suicide*
"I-I, uh, I won't s-say"
*Kevin stares at them predatorially, his victims are cornered*
"Oh come on, just a rough figure. Three hundred thousand? Four hundred thousand?"
"Um... uh, uh, a bit more than that."
*Kevin suppresses a smirk, he narrows his eyes and licks his lips hungrily*
"More? Don't tell me it's five hundred?"
*The failed property magnate laughs nervously, Kevin raises an eyebrow, his glee at the self-destruction of these clueless upstart townies barely contained*
"More than that? Well... just how are you paying for all this?"
*Kevin leans forward, his fists clenched, a look of unbridled malice on his face.*
"We mortgaged the portacabin. Three times. And Ashley's on the streets to make extra cash. We sold the kids."
*Kevin is now visibly erect and looks on the two with a mix of spite and lust*
"Ok... I hope everything goes well"
*Kevin walks out to speak to the camera, a gunshot is heard from the thrice-mortgaged shack*

What were you hoping to accomplish with that

The most comfy episode is they one with the charcoal maker who literally builds his entire home by hand. It's a really old one and I know if was revisited but that episode is by far my favorite.
