Because in that timeline Krypton didn't die off, and Kara wasn't sent to Earth to protect Kal. In that timeline Germany conquered Krypton killed everyone and Kara was taken back to Earth as a pet slave of some general. After she killed him when he tried to force himself on her manifesting her powers for the first time she was placed in combat training and brainwashed to become the perfect weapon to ensure the pacification of the americas.

This year's crossover was incredibly good. I had fallen behind on all four shows (although I was almost current with LoT) and skipped straight ahead to ep8 of all four so I could watch Crisis on Earth-X. It was 100x better (and 30 minutes longer) than Justice League was. In every way except Aquaman.
