It’s hard to be hyped about a franchise that releases a new movie once a year. Not to mention that TFA put a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths

It all hinges on Reylo. If it doesn't happen the movies are milquetoast failures. Not a lot of people are aware that the only thing propelling the story forward is the sexual tension between them. The ideal way to take the series is to make Kylo as badboi and taboo as possible, then redemption arc via Reylo. The expected way is just Reylo as it stands. Anything less than Reylo and it's all been pointless, story loses its only engine.

I don't care about any of the new characters. Kylo was bad ass until he took the mask off, now he looks like a spoiled child who joined the sith for no reason. He should have never been related to Han Solo and Leia.

Rey, Finn, and Poe are all boring. I will probably still watch the movie though just because everybody is going to be talking about it

No one cares about Rey, Finn, Poe, nor the fat asian girl. It's just Luke, and Chewie. The series relies on how well Kylo is written. If Kylo is written well, the trilogy is salvagable.

Driver seems like the only actor in the main cast to give a shit. Every interview with the main cast, and Driver has an authoritative and knowledgeable tone to him. Boyega is using Star Wars to propel his career. Daisy is too much of a cokehead. The fat asian girl hates star wars.

They should have gone with the plot where Kylo was an autistic sith artifact collector they had. Far more interesting than a pussy Darth Vader and it would give some great worldbuilding and showcase some sith other than Sheev and Darth Clapper

In their own way they are mustering hype. Annual Star Wars releases will soften certain excitements but the train cannot stop.

Sheev was the best character in the series, Serkis’ rip off isn’t cutting it.

I work in a nerd store. The vibe on this one is as cold as spider-man homecoming. There's too much market saturation of Star Wars like Spider-Man. It's lost novelty. Supply and Demand. The fan base waited 20 years for new trilogy. Now you getting spaceballs the product tie-in one off movie that noone gives a shit about in a year. People are fickle and easily bored. Star Wars is very repetitive because it's not very written. The originals were like crib notes from Kurosawa films in space.

i feel like most people are satisfied with ren's character already. a vader wannabe is kind of interesting and his conflict feels genuine.

now rey, this movie is gonna make or break her.

Maybe if the trailers didn't look boring as fuck and we didn't have to sit through more of the new characters adventures, I'd care.

I probably liked Rogue One more than TFA, but yeah...it feels really out of place, and I kind of don't need another Star Wars for another year or two after two back to back ones that weren't all that great.

I was kinda interested in Kylo, I guess, as some sort of Emo Columbine Vader Fan Boi.

But the rest of the cast/story is really uininteresting. Ironically, the shit I hated about the prequels (muh politics) probably would have been a better fit here.

The "Chosen One" and "Family Drama" just seems too much like a reboot of the OT. Like we're back where we started. Yeah, I know, pottery.

The Disney Star Wars remind me of the youtube fan-fiction videos of Star Wars, they're obviously made by people who love the series but for the wrong reasons, they don't resemble or retain elements of Star Wars in any technical fashion.

Say what you want about the prequels, but at least George retained production techniques, like the cooky clock-wise fade transitions or the larger-than-life costume designs

TFA is one of the most critically acclaimed (both audience and critics) Star Wars movies, normies LOVE TFA, some people, even older ones who watched the originals in cinema, put that movie above ANH.

Nah, not really, if you look at the box office from the previous Star Wars movies, the sequels after the start of the trilogy made always less money than the starting film, so it doesn't make really that much sense to believe TLJ will cross higher than TFA, it will be very near that box office at best.

The idea is good enough, and the actor is good technically, even if he doesn't suit the part in looks.

As a character all on its own it's interesting enough. As a pillar of the series I think it was a questionable move from a strong character design start. I still find Kylo one of the most interesting characters of the nu-series, but less so than he could be.
