Fuck you I liked it a lot and there is nothing you can do about it

Fuck you I liked it a lot and there is nothing you can do about it.

i thought it was at least better than TFA

THEN YOU ARE LOST.

I'm sorry

Is OP a reylo

6/10
>Rey/Luke/Ben plot strong, ranging from decent to excellent
>intro of rebellion reasonable
>movie outright shits its pants for the entirety of Admiral Kolto's presence, the inexplicably hovering First Order Ship, going to a casino, freeing the donkey camels, and getting thrown in jail with a different master hack than the one they were there to find who immediately allows them to escape
>pretty strong conclusion with cool conflict on salt planet
If they hadn't so royally cocked up everything going on with Finn and Poe in the second act, I'd say it was a very good movie. But that portion of the second act was train wreck after train wreck. Since the film is overall 8/10, but diverges to 3/10 retardation for about a quarter of its run time, I give it a 6 overall.

What the FUCK happened in act 2? Did they just not know how to give Poe and Finn something to do?

The third act is also a mess because of the forced escape circumstances, having the characters immediately give up on finding a way out only to reconsider it later to give a shitty excuse to kill Luke was awful, Luke's scene was great but the context made it a joke.

what did you like OP

explain why you are saying these words from your face

True, a dry turd sandwich is better than a diahrrea stew.

I'll give you that the third act has messy context, but the emotional framework and the aesthetics are VERY strong.
>Kylo/Luke conflict
9/10
>assault of the salt skitters
9/10, up til Rose randomly kisses Finn and takes me out of the moment, cuz that did NOT feel set up.
>Luke's entrance and Leia/Luke scene
8/10
Rey shows up randomly and forces lifts their problems away
6/10
>connective threads of logic
4/10
>Chewbacca flies around with space penguins
kill me/10
Whole section isn't as strong as overall and I give it a 7 or 8 overall. The circumstances leading to that point are fundamentally unsound, which hurts it overall, but the emotional pay off is so strong that I'd argue it still leaves a lot to love in the third act. Definitely a diamond in the rough that could have been saved by a firm editorial hand.

it's literally the best Star Wars movie. Nerds just have the biggest nostalgiaboners so they'll never admit something new is better than the originals.

ok marveldrone

give it a few weeks, you will come to accept that it was shit. I was the same with Phantom Menace.

>I like eating turds and there's nothing you can do about it!

...

why did you crop finn out of the poster you racist shitlord?

...

Is...is there some reason not to be Reylo?

I dunno if you watched the same movie, user, but the Rey/Ben interactions were overall pretty strong, whether or not you choose to interpret them romantically.

I mean the movie pretty much cropped his role out of focus too, and gave him an ugly asian girlfriend as an apology.

Me too, fuck these idiots that didn't understand it because they were too busy on their phones for the entire movie.

I can call you a pleb.

>there is nothing you can do about it
I can laugh at you

The movie is a mess and sucks. That said, the scene where Luke arrives in the outpost and the walkout was great and really the only thing worth watching. Should it really have been him? Maybe. But still, good music and a touching scene with Leia, a nod to C3P0. Dunno if he should have died that way but at least the scene was good with the two suns and music.

>2017
>watching cuckwars

the movie was actually okay given the terrible setup by JJ. Its baffling how contrarians on this board actually think the prequels are better.

Lukes death and kylo is the only thing I cared about

I don't hate you or anything, I just feel sorry for you

10/10

Good for you OP.

I thought it was pretty meh, but I enjoyed it. I went into the theatre with zero expectations. After they ruined Star Trek I learned not to invest myself emotionally in any franchise.

I feel a little bad for Mark Hamill, seeing as he clearly put a lot of himself into the role and was let down.

Honestly, the amount of buttblast on youtube and Sup Forums alone makes it comedy film of the year for me.

I was disappointed, I thought I can finally see Luke do some cool stuff instead they gave us Jake Skywalker.
Dick move imho.

Because at least the prequels gave a shit about being true to the setting they took place in. TLJ feels like someone dumped a Star Wars playset in front of an autistic child, who then proceeded to smash his toys together making PEEW noises until he came up with something edgy and cool by the standards of his 8 year old brain, but completely nonsensical and retarded to everyone else.

I mean I can still laugh at you and sage your thread.

>Because at least the prequels gave a shit about being true to the setting they took place in.
what? Did you forget the 70s diner? Or the fucking car chase with Grievous. Hate ep8 if you want to its your opinion but your reasoning is trash. How does TLJ not give a shit about the setting its in?

>and there is nothing you can do about it.

We can ride it's shit so hard that to admit liking it in public will get you ostracized from society.

devilish
